HOTFIXES: Windows XP SP2 & Windows 2000 SP4
Nanaki replied to Incroyable HULK's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
SP1 isn't supported anymore by MS, u know -
Hi y'all, I'm thinking of boosting up my old computer and I decided to put Win2k (SP4) on it. As I hate waiting, I want to make an unattended CD for it. I know an answer file works, but is it possible to install applications during install?
-
Here's the deal, I've got an Office 2003 (Word/Access/Excel/Powerpoint) shrinked (with Office Shrinker) and a WinRAR SFX installer. It works perfectly under a normal windows environment, but doesn't when it SHOULD install. I'm using XPlode4 at the T-12 stage, and it's the only prog not installing. The XPlode pointer stays on the item for some time, so it's got to be doing something. Please help, I gotta get this working before I'm starting adding new stuff.

Office Shrinker [reduce source of o2k3/xp/2k]
Nanaki replied to buckeyeXP's topic in Microsoft Office
What teh hell? No you aren't. Anyway, I found mine to be lucky. One time it works, another time it doesn't. But the best you can do is just run it again and see if it works, otherwise copy over the file manually. -
As I said, I only use the official installer for now. and that one is available here. It's a MSI, so just use /QN or /QB switches as normal. The rest of what you said, I didn't get. :/

unattended installation hangs if OemPreinstall=Yes

Yeah, it is and no, there aren't. But try making your winnt.sif from scratch. Worked for me. -
HOTFIXES: Windows XP SP2 & Windows 2000 SP4

KB834707 won't install (dammit)! <execute display='KB834707'> <program>#SOURCEDRIVE#\Install\Hotfixes\WindowsXP-KB834707-x86-nld.exe</program> <arguments>/Q /O /N /Z</arguments> </execute> I also tried without the /O as the first post suggests. What else can I try? -
No gaming! I'm a hardcore gamer, no me sis. Just firefox, messenger and office. All I wanted to know was if it would run better than W98SE. Clearly, it does. Tnx y'all

Dude, I have a perfectly decent system. I just want to get my old system up and running again. I was wondering because it runs soooooooo slow at the moment with Windows 98. But after I worked on some old laptops on the NT core I though I'd give it a try. And no, I don't plan running Half-Life 2 or something like that. Maybe creatures or the sims... it's only to get my sister away from my good computer.
-
Yeah, I'm probably gonna release one of my homebrewed Lite uA's on it. Now, to continue this topic, would it run GOOD? I mean, not slow etc.
-
Pretty obvious title. I want to blow some new life into my old bugger since I'm in desperate need of two PC's. It has these specs: - 1300MhZ Celeron - 128MB SDRAM (upgrading to 256 prob) - TNT2 32MB - 20GB HDD. It's currently running Windows 98SE on it, so I'm asking, would it run good on the described machine, or at least waaaay more stable than W98. Tnx in advance.
-
*bump* Same problem, it's in VMware, but the bugger gets 240MB of memory. I want this CD to work on 256MB computers, so I'm hoping to get rid of this error. Anyone know a solution?
-
Tnx, gonna try it on my next install.

[VBS] Creating users
Nanaki replied to Nanaki's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
How about deploying this uA CD in a professional environment? It's all about learning, don't get mad. -
Thanks! I decided to stick with the RyanVM installer for now and make my own pack later, when the Dutch version is released. So now I can go complain about some other problems I have. Edit: EXACTLY the same problem with RyanVM's. "Error 1706: no vallid source could be found for the product." after the first boot of ar7. Then it shuts down. Edit2: looks like it was the moving of the plugins which caused the problem. Strange, as it worked fine a couple of days ago.

[VBS] Creating users
Nanaki replied to Nanaki's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
The dude guiding me through this project says you can do way more security stuff with vbs than with net user. He said I MUST do it that way. :/ Alas, I know nothing about VBS. -
Problem is, that's the english version. I want to be able to switch to the Dutch version when it's released. The problem you mentioned, can it be solved? or How did RyanVM make that pack?
-
Hi, I'm looking for way to create a lot of users in Windows XP. And if possible, to make them expire at a certain time and/or other secutiry possibilities. It has to be done with VBscript (it's for my Windows uA CD). I hope you can help, since I know very little of this language.
-
But I _do_ install everything in T-12 and from CD. When I was instelling everything on first boot and from HDD it worked like a charm. It DOES install, it just wants to configure afterwards, needing the original MSI.
-
Hmm, in the beginning I deleted a couple of files, I only have the MSI and the CAB file left. So I guess I need setup.ini too? Ty, gonna try it out now.
-
Config value "accessibility.browsewithcaret" should be "false". Maybe it's configured wrong?
-
Well, err, I don't exactly understand ur question. But check if Tools -> Options -> Accessibility -> "system caret" is turned on. It should be off.
-
Sorry, but where? Couldn't find any .ini file. :/
-
I use the official MSI build and it works fine for me. It does make this extra folder tho, but I jsut delete it in my cleanup.cmd.
