  1. Hi. It is difficult to make a Chrome setting with a good level of usability and privacy. Could you insert some tests? Thank you. P.S. I would be more interested in seeing the connections blocked with UBO https://pazguille.github.io/demo-battery-api/ https://www.whatismyreferer.com/ https://audiofingerprint.openwpm.com/ https://browserleaks.com/webgl https://browserleaks.com/canvas https://browserleaks.com/webrtc https://browserleaks.com/fonts https://browserleaks.com/rects
  2. Any unauthorized modifications that can be made by the browser are always to be avoided.
  3. Why not use the method I use? Set as homepage Startpage and a different Search Engine.
  4. t is not an inconvenience, it is an advantage. If you can't do it, not even malware can do it. Act maliciously by means of the browser to modify sensitive areas of the system. I don't know if you remember this 3D: With the browser running with limited rights it was not even possible to write the registry keys.
  5. It is not necessary to use a extension for the Search Engines management: It is possible to add other search engines in the way I described in the first topic:
  6. With New Moon I set Startpage as my homepage and Ecosia as deafult's search engine. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ If I use DuckduckGo with I.E.8 I don't have access to the search engine settings. Qwant Lite also works with IE8. But I think research is penalized. You could verify? TH. ***** EDIT **** Interesting tool to add a search engine such as Duckduckgo or Qwant Lite to Internet Explorer. Can anyone make it work? http://www.enhanceie.com/ie/searchbuilder.asp
  7. I could do it but I won't. And excuse me Vistalover for this if I do not collect your request. Users of that forum are very rude, misguided and prejudiced. They have the donkeys they deserve. Sorry again.

  9. Private Search Engines - The Ultimate Guide (2019) recently updated by Sven Taylor elects Startpage as the best private search engine. https://restoreprivacy.com/private-search-engine/ Pale Moon default search engines do not include Startpage. For those who want to add this search engine: https://addons.palemoon.org/search-plugins/ With New Moon I choose to save my personal settings without a cookie. I set the Homepage in New Moon via the Obfuscated URL With I.E.8 it is not possible to use Startpage,I use DuckDuckGo. Which Search Engine do you prefer?
  10. Pro New Moon - Less RAM usage - More fluid - The development of Pale Moon does not stop, the future of Basilisk is uncertain. - Developers tend to consider Pale Moon safer than Basilisk* * = This could be even more true given that the development of webextensions in the original Basilisk project was interrupted and was restored here. Therefore it is possible that any present and future security flaws in this area cannot be patched by Roytam1. But this must be asked directly from Roytam1 himself.
  11. 8/23. The Exploit Test Tool is a very specific test to evaluate the areas of intervention or not of the Anti-Exploit. OSA has been specifically designed to be combined with other security softwares. With regard to an overlap of intervention that could inhibit softwares, given that I myself collaborated with the developer Andreas on many improvements, I exclude it categorically.Especially for MBAE + OSA in the versions I use in Windows XP.
  12. Usually it is with Flash that you can have some problems. Flash is always run out-of-process. With Process Explorer version 16.12 it is possible to highlight what has been said. It is also interesting to note: - The "Description" reads "Plugin Container for New Moon" (not Pale Moon) and the "Company Name" is "Mozilla Corporation". - Both PaleMoon.exe and Plugin-container.exe are not signed. - Plugin-container.exe also injected (by default) the MBAE dll.
  13. @Mathwiz Th. Have you checked whether the changes cause problems with the plugin-container.exe? With XP.......
  14. Usually an original PC with Windows XP has a low amount of RAM. And using the Swap always with the original HD is inefficient. Better to use browsers that consume little RAM. The single process certainly consumes less RAM than the multiprocess. It would be interesting to check if with your Chrome-based browsers it is possible to force the single process without crashing: https://peter.sh/experiments/chromium-command-line-switches/ --single-process Related: --process-per-site --process-per-tab
  15. Can you explain better? The consumption of RAM with the same number of open tabs as it is higher?

  17. I read the topics in their browser forum but I didn't find any info for adblockers. https://bbs.360.cn/forum-142-1.html Many problems instead of slow navigation, home page changed .............. If no other user, apart from Win32, wants to try to reduce unwanted connections, wouldn't it be better to use Yandex Browser v17.4.1.1026 (Chromium 58) which installs and also works with Windows XP?
  18. You tried with other Adblocks? Even if uMatrix is working it could allow you to block unwanted connections. https://kb.digital-detective.net/display/BF/360+Speed+(Extreme)+Browser
  19. I note that ED_SIn with XP has installed UBO. Set "I'm an advanced user" Try it yourself and check the connections and in the case block them. P.S. If a website is not blocked by lists, use the global lock option of UBO.
  20. Have you tried using other versions of UBO? https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/releases
  21. It is interesting to note how it is possible, contrary to what is reported: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2 insert rules for New Moon and MailNews but only thanks to the presence of the "dectect Key" rule referring to Firefox or Thunderbird. Uninstalling Firefox and Thunderbird is possible. But it is necessary not to remove the Mozilla/Thunderbird folder in %AppData%. Another possibility is the language of the OS. My OS is in Italian and the rules work. Rules for Interlink MailNews on Windows XP (Work if Thunderbird is installed): [Sessione ] Section=Interlink MailNews Detect1=HKLM\Software\Binary Outcast\Interlink Detect2=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Thunderbird Default=true FileKey1=%AppData%\Binary Outcast\Interlink\Profiles\*|session.json;sessionCheckpoints.json [Cache Internet ] Section=Interlink MailNews Detect1=HKLM\Software\Binary Outcast\Interlink Detect2=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Thunderbird Default=False FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Binary Outcast\Interlink\Profiles\*\cache2\entries|*.* [DOM Store *] Section=Interlink MailNews Detect2=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Thunderbird Detect1=HKLM\Software\Binary Outcast\Interlink Default=false FileKey1=%AppData%\Binary Outcast\Interlink\Profiles\*|webappsstore.sqlite [Startup Cache *] Section=Interlink MailNews Detect2=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Mozilla Thunderbird Detect1=HKLM\Software\Binary Outcast\Interlink Default=false FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Binary Outcast\Interlink\Profiles\*\startupCache|*.* _______________________________________________________________ Rules for New Moon on Windows XP (Work if Firefox is installed) : [Mozilla DOM Store *] LangSecRef=3026 Detect1=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Pale Moon DetectFile=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\*|webappsstore.sqlite FileKey2=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*|webappsstore.sqlite [Mozilla Startup Cache *] LangSecRef=3026 Detect1=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Pale Moon DetectFile=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox Default=False FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\*\startupCache|*.* FileKey2=%LocalAppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*\startupCache|*.* [Alternate Services *] LangSecRef=3026 Detect1=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Pale Moon DetectFile=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\*|AlternateServices.txt FileKey2=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*|AlternateServices.txt [Content Preferences *] LangSecRef=3026 Detect1=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Pale Moon DetectFile=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Moonchild Productions\Pale Moon\Profiles\*|content-prefs.sqlite FileKey2=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\*|content-prefs.sqlite [Cookies and HSTS Cookies *] LangSecRef=3026 Detect1=HKLM\Software\Mozilla\Pale Moon DetectFile=%AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox Default=False Warning=This will delete all cookies at once. 22. Have you tried to check if the unwanted connections are reduced with uBlock Origin? My connections with UBO + Noscript are reduced to 1. Is it possible to block any unwanted connections of 360 Extreme Explorer via HOSTS file? In this case it would be interesting to have a list.
  23. I uninstalled Firefox 52 ESR. Besides I.E.8 my only browser is New Moon 28.
  24. Portable version (Unofficial?): https://www.upload.ee/files/9892868/360Chrome_11.0.2052.7z.html The language is not English.
