  1. Fixed: It was a worm. I use Service Pack 3 with the Blaster, Sasser & Conficker update packs, but on both computers I had been messing around with changing the hal and because of this old copies version of the hal layers were restored. On the desktop computer I fixed it by restoring copies of ntldr, hal.dll BOOTVID.dll and especially ntkrnlpa.exe Interestingly on this computer it worked by restoring a previous version copy of the hal layer and connecting to the internet did not reproduce the problem again. At that time I still did not know the problem cause. In the laptop that did not work for years, after resetting the registry, it stopped booting only after connecting to the Internet. I've restored a registry copy, reinstalled the updates anti-blaster, Sasser... And the problem has not returned. It is curious that neither Avast nor Malware Bytes detected any virus in the scan performed. On the other hand, the registry change comparator files showed different results when comparing both registries. But on the laptop they showed 2 very suspicious keys with FAT32 format. Fixed restoring ntkrnlpa.exe previous version -Laptop ---> The problem occurs only when the system is connected to the Internet. Fixed updating ntkrnlpa.exe After writing the previous lines I have gone to upgrade Windows 2000 on both computers with: -KB824146-x86 Anti-Blaster -KB835732-x86 Anti-Sasser -KB828741-x86 Anti-attack by RPCSS On the laptop I haven't had any problems, but on the desktop the problem returned after installing KB824146-x86 Anti-Blaster and restarting the system. I haven't checked if it updates ntkrnlpa.exe Then I went to install KB835732-x86 Anti-Sasser, but it gave me the error "The installation program could not verify the integrity of the Update.inf file" In Internet forums it says that it is because the encryption service is not running. I do not see this service installed in Windows 2000. It is possible that I have uninstalled it in the past. The problem has been solved by restoring a fairly old version of the registry, from 18 months ago, on which I have been able to install the updates.
  2. sorry, the post was originally written in english from the computer. But I have gone to edit the post from the phone and when I hit send it has been automatically translated from English to Spanish. There is a problem with Chromium's automatic translators on smartphones and non-native language forums. I wanted to add that I have checked the Windows 2000 startup files, before loading SYSTEM. I am surprised that the file kdcom.dll says to load at startup without errors but this file does not exist in the Windows 2000 directory
  3. He logrado iniciar Windows 2000.
  4. The problem happened to me on a laptop a few years ago. Now the problem is on a desktop computer. After defragmenting, at this time without any further operations, even though I restore any registry copy, Windows 2000 does not start due to the error in SYSTEM. I have cloned a copy on another hard drive with R-Drive Image and it doesn't boot either. I have also created an image in a file and later restored it, with the same result. I can only think that Windows is not looking for SYSTEM in the correct path. how can i check it?
  5. Thanks, with USB original box my 5TB Seagate disk with Windows 2003 drivers as GPT is limited to 2TB, but with any USB Logilink adapter it is not GPT limited, the problem is with MBR disk.
  6. This is Chromium 57. You do very well not to install. This is very intrusive, it creates a service named knbcenter.exe that prevents any modification of the installed files, so it is no longer possible to put the English language. It also slows down the Windows XP startup. I have managed to uninstall it by translating the menu from Chinese. I have saved a installation copy and just by running it, it has installed everything again, it does not work as a portable.
  7. The last version Windows XP compatible from Liebao Browser aka Cheetah Secure Browser aka Cheetah Safe Browser aka Kingsoft Browser is the 6.5.115.19871 from November 2021. It is possible download here http://www.liebao.cn/6/index.html New version is not Windows XP compatible.
  8. Thanks, but I have copies of the registry made with WinRescue2000. After defragmenting it seems strange to me that after restoring a previous version of the registry sometimes it starts and sometimes it doesn't
  9. The hard drive is 500 GB Sata II with 4 primary partitions in Fat32, in the second partition Windows 2000 is installed. The SYSTEM size does not reach 6 MIB. I have executed Chkdsk / f / r and has no errors. I have executed the Victoria test and does not find defective sectors. S.M.A.R.T. It is not very healthy, but it does not say that the status is critical, I have Windows XP in the third partition running without problems. I have defragmented the Windows 2000 partition and now the system does not start though I restore any registry copy complete. This says that all SYSTEM copy is damaged. Edit: After executing Victoria I can restore copies System file and I return to the initial problem
  10. Sorry for not reading all previous conversations. I have not understood in the first post if to update the certificates it is enough to download the application or if it is necessary to follow the additional steps.
  11. I would like to know what the 360 Extreme Explorer engine really is. In the interface it says Webkit. But the doubt enters when seeing that it runs Chromium 86. In my notes I had pointed out that this is webkit adapted to Chromium, but I have the doubt if 360 Extreme Explorer has a Blink engine. How is the case in other chromium browsers like DC Browser, Kafan MiniBrowser, Liebao Cheetah Secure Browser, Maxthon, QQ Browser, Sogou Explorer, UC Browser, TS Browser...? Do they have blink engine or webkit engine? I take advantage of the post to ask if it is possible that 360 Extreme Explorer does not change to the Trident engine, when it does not load a page the first time. I already have configured in settings to use only webkit, but sometimes it changes to the Internet Explorer engine.
  12. I have 2 computers with the same problem, a desktop and a laptop. When starting Windows 2000 it says that the SYSTEM registry file is corrupted. I restore a previous registry backup made automatically with the WinRescue 2000 program and then Windows starts again. But when I restart the computer the problem returns. I think I don't have any rare software installed that I don't have on other computers. What can be?
  13. Well now it works properly https://sourceforge.net/ both https and style window
  14. It seems that UC Browser is discontinued. The latest version for Windows PC is 2018 and the latest Android version is 2021. The website does not work: https://www.ucweb.com
  15. The compilation is made 1 year ago. I had it saved, pending publication. I've tried a few links and found they work, sorry if some don't work anymore. I use Avast 6 with March 2020 definitions. I don't want to use more current versions, since they consume a lot of resources and try to protect me in matters that I don't need. I prefer to work without antivirus, my computer is much faster. Most of the programs that I need, I have downloaded them before 2020 or I do not need versions after 2020 generally. The antivirus only works for me to scan for viruses, not to run in the background. But above all what works is experience and thinking with your head. I am still alive since 2008 without any new virus in my system. I live hahaha without antivirus.
  16. As I have not been able to get 360 Extreme Explorer version 13 to correctly recognize the certificates of the pages, I have continued working with version 11 for the last few years, until I verified that my browser is outdated. Then I have started to work with version 13.5.2022 displaying many pages with the red padlock and the message "the page is not secure" appearing, so I have to click on the option to access this site without a certificate. OK, now the problem is that I see that in version 13 many pages are not displayed correctly, while in version 11 they are correctly displayed (the style sheet does not load, the menus, images, etc. do not load) For example: https://sourceforge.net/

  18. Lobo Evolution 3.0, fork Lobo 0.98.4 java browser, is running on Windows XP but on my computer it run very slow. Release date 21 July 2022 is here https://github.com/LoboEvolution/LoboEvolution/releases
  19. Based on this comparison of browser security and compatibility for Windows XP, these are about average. https://www.reddit.com/r/windowsxp/comments/slooy2/comparison_of_windows_xp_browsers/
  20. I have seen that the Lunascape downloader version tries to download a file called Webkit.exe and Gecko.exe to install these engines. This doesn't work anymore, the last Lunascape is from the year 2018. Looking for information I have found some instructions to run Apple Webkit on Windows. https://schepp.dev/posts/running-webkit-on-windows/ I try to follow the instructions, but I don't know which is the WebKit-Cairo folder and I can't find the MiniBrowser.exe file Has anyone tried it? I think it should run on Windows XP, Otter Browser and other webkit powered browsers work on Windows XP. Edit: From what I've been checking minibrowser.exe is inside the builds for Windows, but the links I find don't work. https://medium.com/@alSkachkov/how-to-load-the-latest-webkit-on-windows-962a9219c1e1
  21. The disk is 4 KiB native. I am working without problems with MBR on Windows XP. I have found many peculiarities in tests with GPT disk that I will comment on in a short time in this other thread. For example, only two partition programs correctly read GPT disk on Windows XP and only one allows working with GPT partitions on Windows XP, Acronis Disk Director. But I now want to continue solving questions about MBR with 5 TB. 1-If I try to create 3 primary and 3 logical partitions with Mini Tool Partition Wizard in Windows 10 it doesn't work. I had no problems with just 3 primary partitions, one with 3TB. Edit: With other programs I have had no problems. If I align the partition with Mini Tool to the size in MB instead of the cylinder, will I have problems on Windows XP? 2-When I create partitions on Windows XP I don't have problems, but I am curious to know why all partition programs have a limit for the smaller size of the cluster with FAT32. For example, if I create a FAT32 partition with more than 600 GB, Mini Tool forces the minimum cluster size to be 16 KiB. Other programs have other different limits, I remember that Partition Magic forced a minimum cluster size of 32 KiB in +32 GB partitions. Is there a physical limit? I can easily format FAT 32 partitions with +1 TB and 4 KiB cluster size with Guiformat FAT32 Format. 3-I would like to know if there is any physical limit so that the most modern Logilink USB adapters do not work with +5TB disks (4 TB limit). And that these with the updated firmware have a limit smaller than 2.2 TB. I'm still looking for other USB adapters that work with +2.2TB drives. Please comment. I am also going to comment that I have bought another disk, this time 6 TB Toshiba P300, no computer is able to detect it, neither internal SATA nor external USB. I think the drive is faulty. I've already taken it to the store, all are problems. There is no real evolution, Mini Tool Partition Wizard 12.5 free has its latest version for Windows XP https://surgatekno.com/download/minitool-partition-wizard-free/ The evolution of the program has been to add Google Analytics to retail version, 12.6 no longer works with Windows XP. It is now spyware.
  22. Yes, I know the methods and still experiment with them so that there are no errors with GPT disk on Windows XP. I confirm that Seagate Box does not mount the GPT disks on Windows XP or with Paragon GPT Loader or Windows 2003 drivers. I confirm that USB Logilink adapters work properly with GPT disk on Windows XP. Furthermore, I also confirm that USB Logilink AU0028A model does not work with MBR disks larger than 4 TB. In addition, this same model with the updated firmware has the MBR limit on 2 TB. This is possible a firmware downgrade. Oldest USB Logilink AU0028 (without letter "A") work without problems with MBR discs with 5 TB. I have five USB Logilink adapters, but only an old model that works without problems with MBR. Please, you comment SATA to USB adapters that work without problems with MBR disk on Windows XP or Windows 2000.
  23. After formatting as MBR on Windows 10 I have removed the disc from the box. First, I have connected it through a Logilink USB adapter that I bought in 2017 and that was working with an MBR 4 TB drive. Then the MBR disk is recognized by all Windows with a false capacity of 561 GB. A moment when I remembered that I have an older Logilink USB adapter, with different hardware, but with the same external appearance. Then the disk has been read by Windows XP successfully. I have tried to format it as both MBR and GPT with various programs, and it works perfectly on XP. Paragon GPT with modifications has worked. Then I put the formatted GPT disk with 5 partitions back into its original box, then Windows XP again recognizes the disk but doesn't mount it. Partition Wizard now says that the drive only has a 2 TB partition, which is false, plus a small front partition. So far these are the conclusions: -Seagate box does not work on Windows XP neither as GPT nor as MBR. - Logilink USB adapters with newer firmware work up to 2TB on MBR, with older firmware up to 4TB on MBR and GPT. -Older Logilink adapters currently have no limit. It is necessary to make a list of USB adapters that work with large drives MBR in Windows XP. why is a Logilink model limited to 4TB? Why doesn't Segate box mount disk as GPT in Windows XP?
