Huch, danke Magic - that funny MS Guys... - Cant stand them ! Why i always had to download, all that MS Programmer Crap (i dont need) - just cause i wanna get a new Version of one spezific file ? **** i am too stupid... i downloaded that, but where is the DependencyWalker.exe now ? - Its not in the Windows 8.1 Kits Directory... (did they rename it ? is this still an exe file ?) - seems it must be anywhere else... Visual Studio ? ok, first install Windows 8 WDK and than the 8.1 update, now i get it - good ! 2.2.9600 from 2013 - errors are just the same (i will check if the 8.1 ADK is the solution, to get some missing files)

i think latest Version is 2.2.6000 from 2006 (i wrote the author a mail 2 years ago, cause i haved some questions for console using - he was really nice answered me everything i wanna know at this time, and told something like: everthing works well - no need for an update) http://www.dependencywalker.com

i just open it to see if something like a broken thumbs.db handle, springs outside the dark, infront of me I check dependency´s and try to solve them - since I realised that the XP Catalyst driver - has a handle in the system32/drivers dir, and can´t load it.. (and how to fix it !) There are alwasy missing files in every windows version, - and i post that what i understand from this, since years at different places and names... and all my posts are still ignored... If on your explorer.exe everthing looks fine in the D-Walker, this could only mean: something was broken on the last repair install i did (old C:\ Dir was moved to windows.old) - or you install something that fixes that dependency´s... - tell me what pls !) Last Time i used the dependency check to resolve an error message, from dism after using NTLITE... - sadly nuhi couldn´t follow my problem there, but after i installed the windows 8.1 adk, some files was changed, dependency walker looks fine, and the error message in the dism.log was away... (just visit my ntlite feedback in nuhi´s forum side here, if you wanna check it out !) This tool is a MUSTHAVE if you decide, to remove or deactivate parts or files from the wim-image, what i will do at once after the final is out... (next day´s i will check out OS2 [seems there are some people {http://www.ecomstation.com} who still works on it, after IBM stopped...] - i´m taut like a bow) - we just have to wait, until someone sacrifice his self and leaks the server 2003 code, - thats all we need

Nice guys, that you care about this like me - whats your alternative if MS Fails aggain ? - Join ReactOS ? You can fix some of the missing handles/dependency buy adding: that 2 folders to the environment path variable... %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64\downlevel;%SystemRoot%\System32\drivers; I am not 100% sure about it - seems that some dll´s are called globally by other files - and ms (even amd) forget that the path - were the file is in, - has no entry in the environment variables, what means that the file is not "callable" globally - so - when its not in, the complete and right path must be inside the file (maybe dependency walker fails at this point - but i didnt believe that...) - its just another "error" ms have since XP or longer... - that they put files out of standard path´s and then forget to put the new path into that variables... - and at this point i am not sure, maybe add %SystemRoot%\System32\downlevel too (i did that, but get x86/64 errors - you see the warnings in the image... so i remove that path 1 min ago - or maybe its better to put out the syswow path and keep 32 - will see...

sounds very good - but i havn´t test it until now (sorry) - i believe that this fix work, so big thx !!! - if this "tweak" is not allready in NTLite, we really have to tell nuhi I mostly run on XP, cause i dont like wim images - one little error in a xml file break the whole setup... From time to time i try to create a "Perfect" Wim image - but all this comparing of files, version, tweaking, batch or autoitwriting - its like hell !!! (like starving - i allready wrote... - to much work...) - i prefer that ms give us the option to install a well compiled resourcecleaned error free Version - since steve balmer isnt the chief anymore - it must be possible...

I try different regtweaks to got rid of that in the past... - if your posted solution fix that - youre kind of a hero - but the question is why the explorer wanna make thumbs.db file for .exe files ? did it try to load the inside icons of exe files to the thumbs.db chache, and fail at this mission, cause the thumb.db handler or whatever cant read resourcefiles out of exe ?

- sorry i was thinking much about everything to get a "complete" list - in some ways multimonitor users are not forgotten by me - cause the monitors have a size and a distanze to you... - Gamecoders would use 1 Big File With Alpha Channel, to texture whole windows with one 1024x1024 pic - that contains all icons and is easy changeable... I can change it, when using another Powerprofile, - but this means - that the PC doesn't go to sleep, - even when the work is done... Minds, wishes... 1) Instead of Select Wim, Select Iso (and Extraction Path) 2) Rightsmanagement... - pls use something more useable for the new mounted folderrights (instead of \) 3) or give me pls the option to Set SearchIndex=0 for all mounted files... (if system is installed its impossible to remove that crap from all files) 4) Unregister Checkbox (unregisters dll´s before removing [regsrv32 /u) (found some dead entrys with "Nir Sofer Driverview", and "SYSINTERNALS Autoruns" after removing) 5) Keeplist: how to add C:\Prgramxxxxx ? Now it seems (not sure) that only files in windows folder like \System32\ can be keept 6) Gui: Service Tabs for different kind of Services, and the option to sort them by type, user, start, etc 7) Possible Backups after each step (and possibilty to change the steps...) whoops allready mounted - must overead this... - but its possible - but not so comfortable... - if you use nlite in VM and bind a real harddrive as second drive into - to mount the image there - you can send the vm to sleep/save state - and then copy/move the mounted image to another folder, and put your copy of it into it.... (did that in the past, when i work with vlite and rt7... - to save some time...) - nuhi - on my Error 3 Post, i post some "Updates" don´t miss it pls

its allready there... you can choose the mount path, by choosing the temp folder under settings.... (be sure that your new Temp/ Mount Location have good userrights... like User: everyone)

Ompffff..... - now this dismapi.dll is startet (ntlite try to use it, and than i get an error...) DismError NTLite_dism.log.txt Update: - ok, seems like NTlite uses the dismapi, and than get an error because, some same dism files that allready exits in windows got a lower version, and Progs always prefer to use the files form System32 and Syswow, if they are not in the directory from the Tool - to get rid of that (the usage of different versions), - i copy the whole dism amd64 folder from adk into NTLite folder (x86 folder is for 32bit win) - seems like it run fine with dism 6.3.9600.17029 (will check more next days...) Update 2 Now - NTLite works well (ADK dismapi.dll is used in a right way - see NTLite_dism_log...) - but my session is still corrupted (and i get a bsod after install) (did someone find the error in it ? probably a service...) (- was a service...) NTLite_Session_xml NTLite_Session_xml.txt NTLite_log NTLite_log.txt NTLite_dism_log (dismapi is used well, but 1 warning about missing PEProvider.dll - maybe it will needed in full version, to edit the PE Image) NTLite_dism_log.txt

- sorry its probably my bad english... so aggain: 1) I got some crashes (don´t mean that selection crash, - got crashes on other times two - maybe there are not enoughs "waits" ??? between the steps for a fast cpu ? 2) I Checked your program with depencedy walker, who gives that standard error of missing ieshimps.dll (which is easy fixable) and that following missing dll 3) google info: dismapi.dll is a win8/8.1 (Windows Assessment and Deployment Kit) file only (that dont mean that win 7 have no dism, but is has not this specific dll and their depencedys) 4) The reason for my crashed and bsod, don´t have to be a missing dll function, but it could be... (i can´t test what depencedy walker say´s under win 8.1 to NTLite.exe.....) - i use the depencedy walker since years, just to create some keep lists of files, when i use one of your tools... - it shows errors and missing dll´s... - its not really an error when a dll can´t call a special function, cause the depencedy dll isn´t there - but for me, i think its better when every function of a program can be called properly... - a depencydy that often isn´t there (although at NTLite) is the ieshimps file in the internetexplorer folder (this is a standard error, and can easy be fixed by adding both Internetexplorerfolder to the Environment Folders (that folders where files can be called from everywhere) Its (maybe i am wrong cause i am no programer) an error ms have since years (even some gpu files need files in the drivers folder)... just adding this 3 folders: %ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer;%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Internet Explorer;%SystemRoot%\System32\drivers; solve those errors - the good thing is, - if i am wrong at this point, the solution don´t break or slow anything... (maybe it just fixes depencedy walker...) About that missing wim api file... - its a part of windows 8 and 8.1 and not of windows 7 - if your program don´t need this files and its depencedy´s in windows 7 and just use this kind of dism ? in windows 8 its not a problem... - i really don´t know - you have to ( i have tried to add the files manually - but i wasn´t able to find the file and its 6 ? depencedy dlls as x64 Version P.S. - when i click create iso - after ntlite is finish, the tool crash (after restart i can create iso)

- Sorry wasn´t able to keep them cause i used a ramdisk as Temp folder... - but i think it was a problem of the folderrights from my temp folder (changed them to everyone) and do a clean install, and now i dont get this error anymore... Other Things: 1) Sometime NTLite crashes... (even in a Fresh Installed VM) 2) Got my session onetime working (but i forget to clear the other images) - after redone (complete new image extraction) and install - i got 0x7B BSOD after install in VM 3) If you only select a WIM File thats not in the Image Folder - NTLite Crashes when it try to do Automation.... 4) DepencedyWalker hat shown some errors (some of them, like ieshimps is missing can be fixed by change the environments path in windows by adding: %ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer;%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Internet Explorer;%SystemRoot%\System32\drivers; Some possible errors ??? couldn´t be fixed, cause there is nothing like dism api in windows 7 (see the pic...) - but maybe its not a problem...

First: Big thx for releasing the tool, and all the work you´ve done in the past... - i am a bit sur"PRICE"d, have hoped you was able to sell it cheaper for personal use... - but that doesnt belong to here... - so first Test, got that Message: Error: Aborted at Removing Components. Why not just: wLite w can stand for windows wim-image (wim images are the big point of your tool - or not ?)

You can slipstream Resource Packs into XP (but its some work...) You have to extract every file on the cd (you have to remember the cabfiles yourfile.ex_ - cause you have to cab them (makecab) - after work aggain... There is a tool called batchmod ( i only find a dl link in a old german thread) (there might be an english similar thread somewhere...) (you although need the resource hacker, and have to put it into a folder of batchmod) & you have to get the pack you like... xpize, flyakite, gant, - whatever... when you have your extracted cd, batchmod & reshacker, and a extracted resourcepack - you have to put them into the folders of batchmod, than, you can run the tool - and after it, you have to recab the new files aggain... - before some years, me and another one - wrote some auto-it scripts (to controll batchmod, file extraction and recab - but the german forum died different times - so we never finished it - (here they are,,, but they are unfinished and all possible comments are in german - no warrenty - you need to get some experience with Reshacker, AutoIt, & Batchmod, before using it...) nuhi, maybe a missunderstanding... - don´t wanna tell you how you are, you will know it better... so aggain, what i have tried to say is that there are many people out in this world, who uses very old hardware - this is mostly common in poor countrys [or why there is a Starter_Edition ? We all know that there are different levels of poorness, but a poor child - died by hunger doesnt mean that the poor guy somewhere else with a 3 Dollar Pentium II Computer is a rich guy) many people in asia, russia, afrika, - use old computers (like in Cuba with the cars) - and in my mind its very good that they use them - as long as they work ! So for people who have a 1500$ Laptop, it doesn´t matter, if they save two Gigabyte - but those running a Pentium II with 20GB Harddrive 2GB is 10% so in my mind - your tool would be more usefull for this guys - who doens´t have the money as for them, who have it... it is just a mind, you don´t have to agree with that... - the other thing: the idea about kickstarter... - uhmmm i often see people who collect money just for one project or for a support... - whats with the guy who started to collect 10 Dollar for a potato salat ? - last thing i have heared is something like 67.000 !!! - if there is a good campain before - i think you can get easily 500.000$ for a public free version with 3 Years support... - but maybe i am a dreamer... - but thats impossible - cause robots can´t dream... - or feel or beeing sad

(Pls give some guys like Kelsenellenelvian a free License) Their long time extra support for nlite & prebuilding - helps in the past to create this big community. They deserve it Another point that makes me sad, you did for a long time a good job, and i totally agree that you deserve some money for your new tool too... - but, i don´t like the way, you like to did it ! - There are still many people in this world, who have slow & old computers, and don´t have the money to buy new Software... (this are the people who really needs all functions) I wish you´ve done it, in another way... - as example: Kickstartercampain with 100.000$ Target and 3 to 5 years of support... or 500.000$ for Writing the code, and release it as Opensource... - by a way like this, you got your donation, and the project can´t die as long as there is a community...
