  1. Ok, I re-installed ThemeSignatureBypass and against my better judgement installed Uxstyle, installed Aeroglass 1.5, signed out and back in and seems to work although I haven't performed a full reboot yet. Question though ..... if uninstalling the previous version of Aeroglass uninstalled the AppInit_DLLS why would the new version of Aeroglass not see it and re-install it?
  2. Sorry for the sarcasm but if I wanted to go digging through my registry I would have installed manually and not with the installer. Now, like I said before, there seems to be a bug with the installer version that which after installing upon reboot will not allow you to login, after logging in the login page just re-appears again, you never log in. I have had to twice roll back to a restore point where this version of Aeroglass was not installed to be able to log in. I am running Windows 10 x64 1607 Build 14393.222
  3. Ok, I have completely uninstalled the experimental build and installed v1.5 via the installer version . When I reboot to my Windows login page after entering my password and hitting enter it brings me right back to my login page and it never logs in. Twice I had to roll back to a restore point before installing 1.5 to login. This is an aeroglass issue because if I remove aeroglass I can reboot just fine.
  4. Wow, dude ...... I mean really? This man works his a** off on this and you can't spare a measly $3, $5 or $10 to compensate him for his time so instead you post s*** like that?
  5. Well that does not help now, especially since I got mine YEARS ago with an old email address and since I cannot remember the password I can't reset the password because the old email account is inactive. I mean really? It's not like you can even get support at the site to have my email address reset. I would think you'd like as many testers on the pre release version as possible, not restrict it.
  6. Wow, Stardock a la dupe française. Pas trop de gens ont quitté ce fait comme pour charger leur système avec bloatware! Translation: Wow, Stardock has the French fooled. Not too many people left that actually like to load their system up with bloatware!
  7. I'm with Grim too, Tihly, you are the man for this and I know only you can pull this off. That is the reason I came to you with the taskbar skinning when I saw that Stardock was trying to corner the market on it when 10 first came out, I knew it was possible, and THIS is possible too.
  8. I don't think so, this setup has kept me virus, trojan, malware, ransomware and exploit free for almost a year now, I'd like to keep it that way. No security software catches everything, this setup kind of levels the playing field. Besides I don't think that is the problem, I think the problem lies within Windows 10 or the AV's I am trying to install.
  9. I am getting a white flashing screen on boot when I try to install new security software. The latest culprits being Bitdefender (paid) and Avira free antivirus, whenever I install them when I go to reboot I will get my pc makers logo, after which all I get is a flashing white screen and Windows will not boot, the screen just keeps flashing white and black, what is causing this? It cannot be graphics related because the pc boots normally without those AV's installed, just wondering if there is something in those AV's that need to be disabled for Windows to boot properly. Unfortunately I cannot find anything on either AV vendors websites or by doing a web search on the issues. My System Specs: Windows 10 Pro x64 v1511 build 10586.494 Running Security software: Windows Defender Winpatrol Plus Winantiransom Plus+ Malwarebytes Pro Rollback Rx Pro Microsoft EMET (all licenses are legit where required and are owned by me) Fast boot and secure boot are both disabled And yes, I do disable Windows Defender before installing another Antivirus. Any help would be appreciated.
  10. Ok then, so when you have no other choice but to use "Bob 10" or "Bob 10" starts to look appealing to you, don't complain when you have to shell out $200 for it.
  11. I have just learned that the official release date for the aniversay update will be Aug. 2, 2016, here : Microsoft accidently reveals Windows 10 Anniversary Update release date This does not mean anythting to anyone getting their upgrade for free because the anniversay date for the original Windows 10 release was July 29, 2015, so if you are not upgraded by July 29, 2016 you will have to pay for Windows 10 in order to receive the Anniversay Update. You can now also decline the Windows 10 Upgrade ........You can now Decline the Windows 10 Upgrade Free Offer
  12. Like it or hate it eventually you will have to use it ...... it's inevitable. If you really don't like Windows 10 and you are eligible for the upgrade, the biggest favor you can do for yourself is upgrade, activate it then roll back to your previous OS, this will guarentee that when you finally do switch to Windows 10 whether it be tomorrow or five years from now, provided you upgrade on the same system Windows 10 will always be free for you. IF YOU DON'T ......... Windows 10 will be $199 for you ........ think about it. Seems all the 10 haters here have a decision to make and lets see ........... you have approximately 1 month and 1 day and 8 hours left to make that decision before Windows 10 becomes a PAID os permanently. I have Windows 7 computers that I have upgraded and rolled back, simply because I still like Windows 7 and am unwilling to part with it right now but I also realize there will come a time that Windows 10 will be it, there will be no other supported Windows OS, as much as I like it, like XP Windows 7's life is very limited and there WILL come a time when it will be unsafe to run it on the internet, software will no longer be made for it, Microsoft will no longer support and patch it making it an easy target for exploits and such. So go ahead and bash 10 all you want, sooner or later you WILL be using it. OR You can go buy yourself an over priced Mac.
  13. Could you possibly re-upload the x64 version of the Blue Folders, when you click the link it comes up with "Nothing Found" Thanks so much!
  14. I find some apps very beneficial, and keep them open at all times, such as my weather, and twitter apps. They are actually very good. Try them. You'll like them especially if you ;have multiple monitors. IMO, Most apps have a purpose on phone but most are completely useless on a desktop or laptop, I will use the twitter or weather app on my phone but there is no need for it on my desktop when I can go straight to the site(s) to do what I need, just seems redundant to open an app on a desktop, IMO the system resources can be put to better use elsewhere. It wouldn't hurt my feelings one iota if they all just went away.
  15. i don't SEE an add option. That's why i was asking. Is it different for W10 users? it's the same on all systems Windows 7 / 8 / 8.1 / 10
  16. Tihly, I just want to say thank you. You have made it possible to just about completely skin Windows 10. Now at least Starbloat will not 100% own that distinction, StartIsBack will share it with them.
  17. Wow, I cannot believe this, I woke up this morning intending on having to purchase Start10 because my trial was running out and Grim had ported over HUD Evolution to 10, I just decided to check my previous post and I saw this. Tihiy, you are the man! Now I don't have to fork any money over to Starbloat.
  18. Ok .......... So does that mean you'll consider having a themeable taskbar option in SIB++ ?
  19. This is just a couple of quick screenshots, I had to re-install start 10 to show you this, If you select "pick custom image" you can add pretty much any image you like aka themeable taskbar, Here you go ......... .
  20. The majority of use do not skin just for the "sake" of skinning, most of us now, especially those on Windows 10 skin for the "sake" of our eyes, the Windows 10 UI is just too bright. I too would like to see a themeable taskbar option in SIB, I think it would increase sales to SIB tremendously, especially since Stardock is doing it, and most of us that use Start 10 would rather not. Personally, I hate Stardocks products because EVERYTHING they make must run in the tray and sucks down system resources, but in some instances must use Start10 in order to get the themeable taskbar, I also own a copy of SIB but have not used or installed it since Windows 10 has come out because there is no option to theme the taskbar with it, so what is the sense of installing it if the start menu does not match the taskbar of the custom theme? You may want to re-think your strategy with SIB, adding a themeable taskbar option would increase your customer base significantly. Also because I think that SIB is a much better product than Start 10 ..... hands down.
  21. I thought of it ..... then thought again, with my security solution it would highly unlikely, NOT impossible but unlikely. Believe it or not, that's the one that worked, followed the directions on the page, rebooted, opened a elevated cmd prompt and used the cipher command and .... wammo! it worked, I knew I would find my answer here. Thanks jaclaz!
  22. I have posted this in other tech forums but cannot seem to get an answer, maybe I can get some help here ............. I am trying to run cipher.exe in an elevated command prompt using "cipher /w:C:" to wipe free disk space, even though I am the administrator on the administrator account, whether I run at an elevated cmd prompt or not I get the same message .... "This program is blocked by group policy, For more information, contact your system administrator" I get the same message when I try to use SDelete also. People keep pointing me to CCleaner, I know CCleaner wipes free space, but it takes forever to do it, even when it is set on one pass, on a 1TB drive with 630GB free space to wipe CCleaner takes 14+ hours to wipe with one pass. And from what I heard and understand cipher can wipe around 50 gigs free space in just about 25 minutes, so calculating around 600 gigs it should be able to do it in around 5 hours +/- which to me is much better than 14 hours that CCleaner does. How do I get around the above problem in group policy? BTW, I have also tried to reset the group policy editor to default also ....... does not work. Running Windows 8.1 Pro x64 with all Windows updates in place.
  23. Thanks Noel, I strive to learn all I can in most areas of computing but the registry is not one of them , I leave that to others. Much too complicated to deal with and honestly I don't want to be doing re-installs every time I mess up Most other areas of the pc, if you mess up, it's all good and can be fixed, not the registry.
  24. I guess it's just Microsoft's way of ensuring that once released everyone is notified, which is not really a bad thing, it's not like what everyone is complaining about is transmitting information back to Redmond or some place else. I took the update and honestly have no concerns whatsoever about it because the bottom line is when Windows 10 is released, ultimately it's up to me whether I want to upgrade or not and not Microsoft, and if the dll becomes a hassle and keeps notifying me about it, well ....... delete it, problem solved.
  25. I noticed that the bat file above says "For Windows 10" does it also work on 8.1? It's Windows 10 because of 'ModernFrame.dll' just remove that section from the reg adds and it will work for 8.1 as well and with a 64-bit OS. ~DP P.S. And yes the 'UxthemeSignatureBypass' method is a stroke of Genuis by BigMuscle, no need to use theme patchers any more like UltraUX or UxStyle. Hmmm ......... in waiting for a response, I have been using the batch file on Windows 8.1 with no adverse affects for about a week now? Everything seems to be running fine, is there a way to undo the changes for Windows 10 if needed?
