[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "ginadll"=- This should get rid of that entry for you from a .reg file. I think you would be better off finding out what program actually installs that DLL though to ensure you don't run in to conflicts. I don't see anything in your autologon files that look like the source of the entry. You could try testing you uA CD without installing your applications to see if that helps. Or you could try uninstalling any "suspect" apps until the reg entry is removed. Hope this helps.

One thing I know of that can cause this is disabling the Windows Welcome screen on boot and using the Windows Classic log in. I didn't see anything in your reg tweaks that is applying this setting, but I may simply have overlooked it or you may be applying the same setting elsewhere. Hope this helps.

Please post back with any information you get from them. I am interested in knowing if/how this is possible. Thanks.

MSFN member SiMoNsAyS has created a guide for installing the ATI catalyst drivers unattendedly. I used this guide myself to include them on my uA CD. You can check it out for yourself here.

You should hook up with Red Green. (Why do I get the feeling you're going to have no idea who that is and I will just be hanging out my Candianess for all to see?) You're right, though. Duct tape fixes anything. Well, almost anything. Duct tape and WD40 will fix anything. If it moves and it ain't supposed to, use the tape; if it won't move and it's supposed to, use the WD40. Welcome to MSFN.

There was a possible solution posted, why are you not testing it? I will test it if I get a chance, just out of curiosity's sake, but I have been rather busy lately, so I can't make any promises.

Why My Runonceex Isn't Working?
Cartoonite replied to kenneth11zz's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Are you sure that the script is being executed? If it contains code from a script that used to work, as you say, than I suspect something has happend that results in this script never being run. Try running the script on another PC to see if the registry keys get imported. If that works, then chances are your script is not being run. Look into how you are attempting to call the script to see where the issue lies. If the script does not import the keys as it is supposed to, the error is likely with the script itself. Hope this helps. -
Msfn Please Explain Yourself
Cartoonite replied to smartie91's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
The topics mentioned as taboo in the forum rules all involve giving unlicensed people access to use software. In short, keygens, time bombs, activation circumvention, etc... are all related to acts of piracy. Software piracy is, of course, illegal. As MCT said, modifying (hacking) a few of the files that make up your copy of Windows is not illegal. You bought the software (and the license to use it), you can modify for your personal use if you like. -
Thanks for clarifying that, Yzöwl. I thought MCT was refering to a tweak he knew of, not something that was enabled by default. Also thanks for posting that alternate Winkey shortcut, that's probably even more useful than the right-click option. (At least, in my opinion.)

HOTFIXES: Windows XP SP2 & Windows 2000 SP4
Cartoonite replied to Incroyable HULK's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I don't believe there is a way to do this. You will likely have to start over with a fresh CD, with or without SP2, depending on your needs. -
The right click menu for what? The right click menu is context sensitive, meaning it changes depending on where you click. That's why it's called a context menu.

HOTFIXES: Windows XP SP2 & Windows 2000 SP4
Cartoonite replied to Incroyable HULK's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I've upgraded to v1.2 from v1.0.5 which I had previously integrated manually. Checked out Windows Update and there are no critical updates showing. Only 4 optional ones (.NET, WMP 10, Journal Viewer and Windows Messenger 4.7) and 1 Optional hardware (Creative AudioPCI). Hope this answers your question. -
Decompress/extract Compressed *_ File?
Cartoonite replied to Judas989's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Which compressed files are you trying to extract? If it's the CAB files, WinRAR, among others, can do this. -
How To Slipstream Ati Drivers
Cartoonite replied to The Master's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
There is a guide posted here. Please search next time. -
You need to add this line at the very start of the file. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

I'm not sure what the problem is. I found this without any difficulty. Try here.

Which Installer Is The Best?
Cartoonite replied to xrated's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
To the best of my knowledge there is no installer available that will let you select something such as what additional software to be installed any earlier than on the first boot up after Windows is installed (GuiRunOnce stage). -
Why are you posting this when there is a sticky thread dedicated to this very topic right at the top of this forum? I haven't checked, but I'm sure the latest hotfixes have all been mentioned in there. Please use the search function if you can't find them in the first post of the thread.

SP2 and Post-SP2 Hotfixes CD Project
Cartoonite replied to DLF's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Okay. Took me three forevers and six tomorrows, but I did finally get something that works for this. It's nothing fancy, just a few script files, but I've tested it and it works. Hmm. Just taking a look at these files before I upload them; seems this set isn't 100% uA, unfortunately. I'm pretty sure I did have something that was completely unattended at some point. I'll have to take a look see if I can find wherever I put that version. Anyway, for what it's worth, here's the partial solution I was working with: I'm in a bit of a hurry, so I won't post the code seperately. Complete (I think) instructions for using these files is included in the Read Me. SP2_Update_Project.rar -
Are you looking to get rid of it for all CDs that don't have their own auto-run files, or just blank CDs misch? I suspect durex's suggestion is likely the best solution, but reg shots can be tricky when trying to isolate a single key. I suggest doing it in a VPC environment where you can take a system snapshot right before you make the changes, and then regshot and make the change several times. Then take all of your comparisons and compare them to each other. Hopefully you won't have too many keys that are present in all of the comparisons. Please post back if you do manage to sort it out, or if you need more guidance. I'm sure something like this would be a big benefit to a lot of people. (I'm already thinking that I would want to add it to my own uA project. ) Good luck, and keep us posted.

To the best of my knowledge this is only possible if you are formatting the entire first drive as the C: partition. Instructions for doing so can be found in ref.chm as well as numerous places throughout this forum. I believe it is also mentioned in the uA Guide. Please search. Welcome to MSFN.

It's working now. Thanks for the reply to my PM, Bâshrat. I was able to get them downloaded now. I think the orginal Download button not disappearing threw me off.

I don't think that's quite right durex. I think he is only trying to disable the box that pops up asking "What do you want to do when you input a cd of type xxxxx." (Shown below.) Disabling autorun would disable this, but it would also disable CDs that have actual autorun features enabled. I'm not sure that's the solution misch is looking for. Sorry to be just a nay-sayer on this one, but I have no idea how to disable this box other than clicking the "Always do the selected action." checkbox the first time the dialog comes up.

New Way Of Playing Song
Cartoonite replied to amardeepsingh's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Just a thought: has anyone tried converting the mp3s to exe files on a Win 9x/NT system and then running the exe on an XP system? With virtual PC software such as VPC or VMware I wouldn't think it would be too difficult to get a system up and running quickly with one of the older systems to try it out... -
[Data] AutoPartition=0 [Unattended] UnattendMode=FullUnattended Filesystem=* The Filesystem and AutoPartition lines as coded in your WINNT.SIF file will ensure that you are prompted for install partition and file system information, so this file will not create a 100% uA install. You also might want to consider adding the following if you are installing XP with SP2. [Data] AutomaticUpdates=yes This will enable Automatic Updates and get rid of the screen that comes up either during setup or on first boot that asks you to configure it. Another fairly common cause of WINNT.SIF not being processed is caused by a combination of factors that I don't really understand. All I know is that a lot of people have reported problems getting their uA working with the file named winnt.sif and that changing the file name to capital letters fixed it. I saw a post by prathapml in the uA Guide update thread that explained this in a little better detail, but it appears that that thread has been deleted now that the new guide is finally up. Other than what I noted above, the file looks fine to me. Hope you can get this sorted out. Keep us posted.
