Interesting. Just try if you have same problem,,, I have 100% working recept to reboot Windows 8 without black screen (this need after update). It's need to switch to standart rtm theme, uninstall UXStyle or other theme patching software, then reboot, and you don't recieve black screen, with aeroglass utility works... This means that this utility don't a reason for black screen...

I actually reset to factory install, and it still wasn't working, it has been confirmed already that there is a problem. 1 thing that all don't remember - most of people who use aeroglass tool by BM (thanx a lot to him!) uses other themes with help for example UXStyle or etc, All problems and black screens are from this. Sorry for my english. P.S. All who have black screen - be patient - wait for 7-15 minutes and look that all normal...

All of yours who tell that windows was updates and aero glass didn't work lies. My system is Windows 8 Pro with Media Center x64 activated with key, and all updates installed - this utility works perfectly. Install original versions of Windows 8, not repacks etc...

What theme must be in that registry path? I can't understand why the black screen appears sometimes. And question: when i power on computer 1st time a day windows always loading normal. Black screen appears only on reboot or power off and power on quickly. Why?

When MS changes DWM so much that requested memory address is not found, it will download two files from MS server which allows detecting of exact memory location need to hook. This ensure that DWM will still work when DWM changes without modifying AeroGlass. Thnx, now i understand. Good idea.

Yes, it's another theme, but i think without your Aero glass it nothing. It's theme maked by ~xXiNightXx (http://xxinightxx.deviantart.com/art/Aero-8-350491112) special for use with Aero glass effect and it not contain rounded borders or caption buttons, meaning that it Windows 8, not 7 )))

Well yes, that's part of it, and the fact that drivers made by who-knows-who and of unknown quality make up part of each and every operating system is why the general advice to avoid sleep, etc. is sound. Nobody said your system HAS to succumb to problems if you use it, but generally speaking people will have fewer problems if they don't. But the second part of the issue is very real, and you have it as much as anyone else. That is, heating/cooling cycles stress the hardware. I have 37 years experience in the computer industry; leaving hardware on and at a more or less constant temperature is FAR better for it than powering it down. -Noel How old are you? 55 at least...

Interest thing for those who encauntered black screen at boot: don't reboot the system (i just havn't reboot button at my system block) - when you reboot, black screen appears again. I found new method: power off system at least for 1 minute, than power on and system boots without black screen... I don't know why it is... but i think that videocard (her memory) is contain usefull data for future use (just remember something (it just my thought)) P.S. Sorry for my english...

Don't you think that it is not right to make utilites wich try to make beta(rc) version of program to working just as complite tool without permission of autor? I think it bad... Don't play with fire just wait...

I think it can't be an issue of this programm, because it don't affect on thumbnails and etc. Look into other programs you are using...

I don't think Microsoft ever said anything about it not being possible, or for that matter ever commenting on it at all beyond the "it's no longer a feature" on the building windows 8 blog - and do you have a source link somewhere stating that stardock is even working on such a feature? Not to downplay bigmuscle's work, he has done an impressive job. Just pointing out that I think you are pulling claims out of thin air. I think it don't need at all. I managed to lighten the inactive border and also de-saturated the borders a bit. They were a little too saturated. I should have an update for it out later. To use the round border theme, you will need to use this tool to make the blur go rounded. Thanks for update the theme. Version 2.4 looks very nice! Saturation now is very good. But spikes (espeсially at taskbar) seems to be more visible then in Windows 7. It's real to make they less visible? They needed but they must be a less visible.

Thanks! Please don't forget glow effect on buttons. Maybe try white? I think yellow will be best for any colorization.
