  1. What? First, this must go to UberSkin thread, second, the solution is to install latest comctl32.dll (installed with IE6).
  2. That won't help. For me to use 1280x800 resolution i had to install resident VBIOS patcher, and that worked only with VBEMP, not with any SciTech driver.
  3. Flash 10 works already with KernelEx 0.3.4 and above, although they've messed up installer in the release build. To install it, use registry trick from a thread.
  4. There IS. Unfortunately page with them (http://my.scitechsoft.com/) vanished. So as abadonware, i can release my build with support for Intel graphics up to 965G (and some other graphic chipsets, too): http://rapidshare.com/files/61460110/snapdriver.rar
  5. KernelEx 0.3.6 (probably). It will be managed by Xeno in order to gain attention and update the thread.
  6. Windows 9x/ME can't support icons that huge and will likely crash. 96x96 is probably the maximum size, and it's not safe.
  7. _default.pif, Google it!
  8. God ****. Show me who wrote that, i'll burn them with fire.
  9. 1. UberSkin or Hook99 can do that. 2. WLL or logo.sys.
  10. That's probably because you had IE6 installed. My advice is to install latest IE6SP1 cumulative update; if you can't install it, extract it and replace dlls in \windows\system with dlls from it.
  11. http://logosys.logotypes.se/ That's the inspiration if you need one.
  12. Sorry for stupid question, but what exactly removing DRM removes - WMP DRM or really kernel DRM bits (ci.dll)?
  13. It won't work with KernelEx 0.3.5, because there are not all things implemented in PSAPI.DLL However, here's PSAPI.DLL with that stub: http://tihiy.ahanix.org/psapi.zip Try it alongside with latest KernelEx.
  14. win2000, can you publish source codes? if not, can you write detailed changes? That will be great support for KernelEx, too.
  15. That's smartdrv.exe that can cause this. Try to remove it from \windows, however, backup it first!
  16. Unofficial video driver: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=723235
  17. Bearwindows' 9x VESA driver is particularly affected by this problem.
  18. KernelEx 0.3.4 is released! Congratulations! Additional fixes that were included alongside: - First time crash / multiple profile crash; - Inability to input national characters of some codepages (Cyrillic, for example). There's a problem with FF3 which causes control keys / caps lock state mess-up on layout change or in another situations. It's to be addressed in FF3 / KernelEx. You'll need to reinstall FF3 over to neutralize UberKern. As for NoNameNeeded "nothing visible" problem, that's suddenly very serious problem and seem to be related with display driver ( ) or some updates. Try to update display driver. If it does not help, post your config here to find the problem.
  19. I've finished integration to KernelEx. Xeno86 will make newer version when he'll have time. Firefox3 and Flash 10
  20. I can't reproduce that! Any particular pages causing those issues?
  21. I was too fast to say RC1 works okay - hotkeys and altgr-keyboard layouts may not work because of last-minute FF changes. I've mostly finished porting UberKern to C (bye bye PB), so... therefore i declare original UberKern / patcher obsolete. As soon as i'll finish APIs, test, convert them and contact Xeno86 you can expect Firefox 3 running on your desk with new KernelEx. RC1 fix will be there. I'll try to explore the possibilities to run other new GTK+ programs. UberKern may revive as a patcher for InkScape or Gnumeric or sth else. Me and Xeno86 are exploring the possibilities of creating new KernelEx architecture. If it goes well, you won't ever have to patch a program again and somehow violate some strange mind's license.
  22. Firefox 3 Release Candidate 1 is out: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-rc.html First post instructions apply to it as well. You may need to rename install program to short name. RC1 generally works faster and better than Beta 5. UberKern 0.3 is compatible with it. You still may need to disable malware checking if you experience disk trashing. Note: you can't do partial auto-updating since patch binary is modified. If possible, UberKern project is going to be terminated. Code will be ported to KernelEx. I'll post here when its fate is decided. Good luck!
  23. Pretentious. However, and C# don't mix. It needs .NET Framework, which is not installed by default on pre-Vista machines (there are other Windows versions, you know). What features are? Compression? Resumable downloads? Delta-patching? Hot-patching? Integrity checking? Clean removing and rolling back? License management? Service to check updates?
  24. Pong! I would like to see a version which supports InkScape, sure. But! The version i've tried fails to start at all. Which - where - what should i InkScape?
