  1. I've ported Windows 7 explorer.exe to Windows 8 RP. That wasn't very easy and far enough from being complete, but result is working Windows 7 native desktop. Start menu pinning and MFU program list was chopped up completely from shell32, other things (search, all programs, system shortcuts customization, systray, desktop, taskbar, etc.) work. Metro isn't started; metro apps and UI don't work. Now tell me if this kind of thing is feasible for you. It requires explorer.exe and maybe couple of other files from win7. I'm planning to upload beta version soon; tell me which sites could be interested in this kind of thing.
  2. That won't work since shared 32-bit dlls are linked alltogether in system. RP7 used second patched copy of user32.dll (and it didn't work well). RP9 uses 32-bit dll functions override as well as 32-bit and 16-bit patching for standard controls. Just function override is not enough for full skinning.
  3. Here are last RP9 source codes: http://tihiy.net/files/rp9source.rar Maybe someone will find use of this stuff i gave a piece of life to.
  4. Thanks for your kindness, Gelosea! IIRC i tried to contact you when i found your beautiful theme and wanted to include it, but got no reply so i cheated, but i didn't modify your graphic and held copyright. Sorry!
  5. Starcraft 2 won't work due to advanced protection system blizzard implemented lately. Same for newer WoW. Also it's likely that Starcraft 2 requires some newer graphical driver features which aren't available in 9x.
  6. Ah, toolbar icons. You need to keep at least one explorer window open to update them correctly.
  7. Can you please explain / screenshot?
  8. Uh, quite the failure. Re-download plz.
  9. Revolutions Pack 9.7.2 http://tihiy.net/files/RP9.exe - Icon loader now ignores mask specified in 32-bit icons - Fixed: menubar drawing bugs (since forever) - Fixed: old-buttons-overdrawing-skinned (since forever) - Various minor improvements This release has a lot of things (old rusty things) changed; please test it well.
  10. Too bad. I'll redo icon loader to ignore icon mask at all. Meanwhile you can try to fix your icons; unfortunately i'm not aware of automatic method to fix icon mask.
  11. Nope. It was never supported.
  12. You can't fix this. Unless you use some skin.
  13. It's for FE too. And other (previous) fixes are there too ofc. And you install RP9 huh. Yes, i've underlooked this. RP9 requires unbinding apps and libraries from system libraries. That's why installer patches gdi32, user32 timestamps; now it's gonna be kernel32 or shell32 too. This may be changed to more clever tricks but now it's how it is.
  14. You should test. But theoretically, it should work. And thus make SH95UPD a bit obsolete.Next release is final and delayed because we don't have time. RC6.rar is close to final. You can post it probably; i can't because xeno would punch me.
  15. Now russian IPs seems unbanned i can finally answer. What kernel32.dll do you have? If that is 4.10.1998, can you update it to newer one like Q320798?
  16. Revolutions Pack 9.7.1 http://tihiy.net/files/RP9.exe - Fixed: natural shell file name sorting didn't work in some cases.
  17. Well red circles are frustrating but that's how it is. Windows has LDT cleanup (not really effective though) which is triggered when system is out of segments starting a program. RP calls that cleanup when LDT is lower than 20%.
  18. Please submit crash details. We can't trick AVZ into oblivion. Does AVZ stops working? bul*****. Which apps? What file versions? What Opera guys said? Opera 11 works fine (minor errors) in win2k mode; just extract the installer.
  19. Just save them under same name.
  20. supem, CharlesF , thank you for your patience and efforts!
  21. CharlesF, supem: please test this revision, it contains rev. 262 bug fix [download removed]
  22. Would be very nice. 261-262-263 are the revisions likely should be enough.
  23. That must mean hang is hard; everything locks up and the only way to exit is to bring Ctrl-Alt-Del dialog, right?
  24. supem, thank you again. Can you also test rev 262 to be 100% sure it's 263+ at fault? It's in updated RC4-5.rar. Thank you again :>
  25. Thank you very much. CoWaitForMultipleHandles was culprit #1 (since its the only new function which does wait), but the problem is - it's not used by printer drivers i've seen and Office 2000/XP/OOo, which prints fine for me and xeno86. Can you please run a search for files you run which use it (with Far for example; files containing 'cowait'; not case sensitive; all character tables; in \windows and \program files with subfolders, then filter out things you don't use).
