Blah, my fault. There seems to be forgotten code from debugging stage where holding F11 for a while generates minidump and restarts DWM. Simply create DWORD value CreateDebuggingThread in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM and set it to zero. Then restart DWM, I will fix it in next version.

I've also noticed aerohost.exe CPU consumption levels that are higher that I'd expect for a process that is supposedly 'sleeping' most of the time. It's certainly not a deal breaker for desktops but it's more of a concern for my notebook. ScreenShot 001.png As you can see from the screenshot, aero host is in the 'top 5' processes for cpu consumption since I booted up my computer over the last hour and have done only mild browsing, Aerohost is using more CPU resources than my chrome, skype, explorer, or dropbox, processes (combined)... Are there any optimization 'tweaks' that could be done to reduce CPU usage? Obviously, more is being done than just sleeping here, I've neither logged in or out or opened any new apps for that matter. Hope this is helpful. According to your screenshot, there seems to be no activity on aerohost.exe so I consider that it is sleeping. You simply cannot reduce CPU usage below 0%. This is interesting problem. There is either some special system configuration which I didn't think about, or it is due to some incorrect settings. In the second case, it would be good to know the incorrect settings to avoid it. The uninstaller should remove all registry entries which it created during the installation.

It should not happen. In fact, aerohost doesn't anything most of the time and it just sleeps in the background. It should become active only when user logs in/out or dwm.exe process is terminated/restarted. Maybe, dump file for aerohost.exe could say something.

Yeah, this mostly happen in two cases: 1) user donates some (mostly very small) value without reading any instruction on the website - and many of them also complain to PayPal that they want their money back, because they did not receive anything 2) user has "tweaked" his system so there are wrong permissions thus DWM has no access to downloaded donation key

It simply means that the system is somehow cracked, corrupted or hardware is bad. You can provide minidump file for dwm.exe so I can check it more deeply.

You can't. You can only change font size to zero to make caption invisible. Caption with solid color background is hardcoded in DWM.

According to those error numbers near "DWM incompatibility error", the system is not regular Windows 8.1 system.

If it is path related, it simply means that there are wrong permissions set on that path. Putting anything into C:\Windows directory is very wrong idea.

intika: if using aerohost.exe from Task Scheduler does not work for you, then generate minidumps (from Task Manager) for aerohost.exe and dwm.exe processes and upload them. I will check where it's stuck.

No, it is not possible. Aero Glass/DWM does not differentiate what each window is. It just know whether it is not it is not the glass region. Every version works with UEFI. This is surely not connected with Aero Glass. But you can always skip Aero Glass loading by holding CTRL key during the DWM startup.

I have no goal in my mind. And it is also not needed to raise any amount, because paypal fee is normally paid for every donation. That's why I always say that small donations are ignored, because the fee is almost the same value as the donation. If some higher power will raise a complaint about my software, I have no problem to close the public development and distribute my software privately only. I will not lose anything. But I will ignore trolls who only cry that they don't get everything cost-free. As it's said: if you give them a finger, they will bite you whole hand. So it may happen that they get completely nothing. Also imagine what will happen if I release a $10 program. They will start shout that it is too expensive and trial version should not be limited in any way... Then you are losing the bet, because there were several people who donated 60€ and some of them generated only a few keys. But on the other side, there are also people who donated nothing and only complain and shout.

It is ok just to reinstall (without uninstalling) but you should ensure that you are using same method as before (it means not mixing different injections together - e.g. AeroHost vs AppInit_DLLs)

I wonder: Why is this option or the glow size only applied to non-ribbon windows? I vaguely remember that ribbon windows use their own rendering technique but I also know that the values are taken from the theme just like for non-ribbon windows (only from a different location). So, couldn't you just override these other locations as well? It has been said milliontimes. DWM is not responsible for drawing captions on windows with extended glass frame.

It's not needed. Transparency/blur effect is automatically disabled when running on battery. This should be fixed. At least, I cannot reproduce it anymore when "Fast startup" is enabled in control panel.

blurring present at all versions It has been said milliontimes here. Tool, you use to enable blur, does not disable accent on the toolbar and thus it gets double colorization.

Provide us with your debug.log, method of injection and screenshot of command line's "dir" command in your Aero Glass folder.

You should not install Win8 version on Win8.1 system.
