1. If you are using the most recent version I posted, i.e previous page, then: Edit the MakeISO.cmd file in your \system32 directory on lines 7 and 8 like this! If you decide you need that feature again then you can return its previous state.
2. Is this a problem with just a few characters, or is it all of these €and possibly these
3. you may well be correct, it was just that I downloaded Dynaletiks, unpacked it and in the ini file it said that the Language was German, Vid0's on the other hand says Language is Neutral, but I still needed to get it first to find that out!
4. Well its all well and good giving us a small description and MD5 Hash, but how about an idea of the language? I shouldn't need to download it unpack it and read the ini or other in order to find that information out surely. If we're guessing by flags then is Shark007s English or French.
5. I will ask again Why would you want to convert an inf to a reg? Inf files are far more useful so why would you want to change them to an inferior format?
6. Do you realize that WUD isn't up to date at present. At first glance the following have all been replaced by updated fixes
KB887742 - replaced August 2006 KB888113 - replaced August 2006 KB896422 - replaced July 2006 KB902400 - replaced May 2006 (by KB912817)
7. You must mean under Start » All Progams » Startup Place a shortcut to the program you want to run under X:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startupfor the program to start for all users who log on or X:\Documents and Settings\Users Name\Start Menu\Programs\Startupfor a specific user, (in this case one named Users Name).
8. First post and guess what? Yes, it's in the wrong place! Perhaps, Unattended Windows or Device Drivers or even at a push, since you mentioned it nLite would prove more fruitful.
9. Correction for your link this pageCorrection for the code given FOR /F "DELIMS=" %%I IN ( 'DIR/B/A-D %LOCATION%^|FINDSTR/EVIL ".CAB .CMD .INI .MAN _"') DO ( MAKECAB /D CompressionMemory=etc.
10. just to add to the above, the CD command does not treat spaces as delimiters and therefore doesn't require the quotes.
11. Yes …you posted in the wrong place!
12. It has definitely got nothing to do with a space character, but a possibility is the exclamation mark. If your batch file is using delayed expansion the exclamation mark will be an invalid character unless it is escaped (^!).
13. Now would I do that!@ECHO OFF &SETLOCAL FOR /D %%? IN ("%ALLUSERSPROFILE:\ALL USERS=%\*") DO ( ECHO/%%~N? |FINDSTR/IL "ADMINISTRATOR ALL\ USERS" >NUL 2>&1||RD/S/Q "%%~?")
14. IExpress can 'Extract files and run an installation command', therefore all you need to do is create a test exe with it using your proposed 'installation command'. When you find the command which installs your inf or reg to the registry you will have answered your own question. (with the help of me of course) You will not need to create a complete package to do this, put a couple of harmless text files inside with your inf or reg file, execute it and check the results. The files can be extracted to a location such as your desktop and the reg or inf file can propagate a known key with test information only. This information can then be easily removed throughout your tests.
15. Why would you want to convert an inf to a reg?
16. Did you not read anything I said? The poster just made it all up! It was their first ever posting here and they were suggesting we were all stupid. What I mean is they were under the illusion that there were sufficient people here crazy enough to provide them with all their switches while that were sat with their feet up. Hence my rather harsh sounding initial response.
17. I see you've edited your post whilst I was responding. If the errors are coming during the textmode part of the setup, before the first reboot, then it suggests a problem with your files, or the ISO. Your files, I take it are located correctly within \$OEM$\$1\Applications\ What are you using to burn your ISO, it sounds like a GUI tool, why not use CDIMAGE or MKISOFS to create an ISO then just use your usual burning app just to put it onto the CD.
18. That's easy, read the entire guide more than twice, then read the application switches stickies at the top of this forum more than twice. Then use the search facility to find each of the applications you have yet to get see in the stickies. When you have done that read the forum rules more than twice before posting here for help with them. You will probably at that time realise that is a better method than just posting a deliberately wrong file and expecting someone to do all the work for you. You may also at that time notice that your original post should have contained special tags around the majority of it and may also be in a position to know what you may be prepared to apologize for!
19. You have not got the correct information written into your runonceex.cmd file. The locations in that file should read %SystemDrive%\Install\Applications\folder1\files_here.extension %SystemDrive%\Install\Applications\folder2\and_here.extension %SystemDrive%\Install\Applications\folder3\more_here.extension %SystemDrive%\Install\Applications\folder4\here_too.extensionnot
20. It can be much easier than you think, if you dont use expandable strings.Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main] "Window Title"="Yzöwl...my hero"Change the text to suit, although I think you'll be happy with what I've suggested!
21. Try the attached reg file! ie_title.reg
22. Nothing weird about that TD, it is a 7-zip compressed SelF-eXtracting archive. It is not however an iexpress.exe created self-extracting cab file using 7z compression.
23. This batch file code will remove all files and directories which are not in use from the users temp files location. FOR /F "DELIMS=" %%? IN ('DIR/B/AD %TEMP%\*') DO RD/S/Q "%%~f?" DEL/F/A/Q %TEMP%\*.*Like I said, system files and directories, hidden files and directories and read only files and directories are taken into account. <Edit> Oh and BTW will not preserve the Temp directory, it will remove it too.</Edit>
24. Why the rapidshare link? v3.0.1 Download Page (German) http://www.winfuture.de/downloadstart,1154099866,1653.html Home page (German) WinFuture xp-Iso-Builder http://www.winfuture.de/xpIsoBuilder
25. @ mazin Just an addition or change to your information: if you use DEL/F/A/S/Q you will not need to use ATTRIB because the /A switch used blindly will take care of all attributes!
