i'm sorry, i was just wondering if you replace notepad.exe with some other program, lets say notepad2 will the new file be seen by windows automatically as though it was notepad.exe ie have all the default assosiations etc.

why was the uncompressed one there in the first place?

hrm, when i browsed the i386 folder the winntbbu.dll file wasnt compressed and there was no winntbbu.dl_ i have run nlite on the install could this be it? I guess my main question is should i replace it with my modified winntbbu.dll file or the compressed one?

Anyone know of some other program with a nicer gui to edit the registry, the main thing i would love is an address bar. I often times know where i need to look but have to manually navigate there.

well the main reason i'm looking for this is becaus i wanna use WPI to have certain extensions availible for install depending on the user.

All i'm looking for is a way to install themes and extensions without just copying your application data info over.

I've seen some people convert thier cmd/batch files to exe i was wondering how you did this. Now i'm sure this has been coverd many times before and i tried searching for it many times but none of the keywords i could think of would give me the proper results.

Will this work with the actionscript build into flash?

i mean the windows Visual Styles, its not very important as it only changes some minor things like the checkboxes and entry diologues, but if there is an easy way to do it i'd be interested

Anyone know how to change the VS before WPI loads in order, mainly, for the checkmarks to have a different look. I also assume this would allow the machine to boot up with such a VS preloaded on the default accnt. I couldnt find anything about this in the WPI forum through searching.

@John0877 how'd you get the commandline there, that would be really helpful also ive thought for a long time of making a flash desktop but i dont know the command to run a program the colsest i could get was to be forced to "open from location" each time i clicked on one of my icons.

As for the icons at the top of the screen, I'm guessing that it's ObjectDock which can be found here. sigh i was hoping it was object desktop What sort of options deos that give? it seems to be more powerful then the longhorn transformation pack.
