  1. Also WinPE 4 is more up-to-date: - native support of 4K sector drives - VHDX / ISO virtual disk file support - USB 3 support
  2. Yes, they only activate the respected tweaks check boxes. During Setup SFC creates NTFS compressed copies of most system files (DllCache), this usually takes a few minutes. Also you save this ~400MB disk space, that is practically wasted The SFC on-the-fly protection was long time the most useless feature of windows, but now there a new one called Secure Boot.
  3. Update: Version 2.3.2.1 - unattended file selection remembers last location - Fixed a bug in command prompt tweak (Thanks Lancelot) - Fixed a bug with XP MC/T Editons - Fixed rare appcrash - cmdline option win8noanimation now trigger tweak check box - added new command line options: DisableSystemRestore, DisableSFC, DisableHibernate, DisablePagefile
  4. That's great, but would it not be better to load start menu skin from a windows 7 msstyles file? I mean there are very few msstyles for win 8 and who knows if the authors even add a start menu to them.
  5. Meigyoku, good but you can not use Norton Ghost after WinNTSetup has run. WinNTSetup only tells the windows setup that the selected partition is wanted as C: If you use disk imaging like Ghost this don't work, as the partition is not found !
  6. Yes, but apparently people don't like *.ini files
  7. Hi Scampy82, there currently are no more command line switches. I will add some useful, but we can't have them for all options.
  8. lately we have some funny definitions about english here hmm, no clue what you mean, but i could let it remember the folder of the last selected winnt.sif.
  9. No.Dism is part of windows since win7. So there is no need to download it. - open the install.wim file with 7zip or mount it with imagex - copy the \Windows\System32\Dism folder to C:\Dism - copy the following files form \Windows\System32\ inside C:\Dism, dism.exe, (dismapi.dll) and wdscore.exe - copy the mui files (Dism.exe.mui, DismApi.dll.mui) from \Windows\System32\??-?? to C:\Dism\??-??
  10. That's why modded sources are not supported.WinNTSetup just applies the NT6.x to disk, whereas real setup does a lot more servicing stuff. Driver integration is rather basic servicing feature and can be done by WinNTSetup, but components as IE will cause trouble. If you need to integrate updates and programs use sysprep, but offline integration will no work here.
  11. There seems to be a bug in the x64 modules, if an other program injects a hook. 7zip sfx - application error
  12. @laddanator This looks like a corrupted *.dll file. Don't think it's related to WinNTSetup.
  13. Well I doesn't support modded sources, but as this is constantly requested I'm thinking about a list of files the cause trouble. If everything works as expected there could be a file list WinNTSetup takes care about. custom $OEM$ folder already integrated in v2.3.2.0, just forgot to mention it in last changelog.
  14. Thanks jaclaz.Wonder how i missed that. @AQM If you tell me what exactly you slipped / nlited into your XP CD, I properly can fix it.
  15. Great, so it was something wrong with this partition. Hmm, yes WinntSetup don't support nlited sources fully, sorry. You can use the disk management from Windows XP. If diskpart works then this has to work, too.
  16. hmm, that strange cause bootcode is written correctly BIOS should be the problem. But same issue with two different boards Well, it's only an idea that diskpart or diskmanagment under xp can create a more compatible partition.
  17. do you used the option in that picture? Also drive letter is hard code for a partition, you should not use disk imaging here.
  18. Thanks.Starting offset / Alignment is okay. MBR and PBR also are good. Maybe it is really a BIOS problem? Last idea, would be to use diskpart under xp and clean the whole disk and create a new partition.
  19. hmm now I'm more confused then i already was can you send me 2 files after winntsetup has run? \$WIN_NT$.~BT\BOOTSECT.DAT \$WIN_NT$.~LS\$OEM$\WinNTSetup.log BTW: Can you use a XP PE like BartPE or Gena and try from there. But important format the boot partition inside this PE.
  20. Thanks for the confirmation of the 2 tweaks You right about the check box for w8animation, it has currently no effect if the cmdline option is passed. For Hiberboot I don't plan a GUI option, as most people would properly misunderstand that danger/feature.
  21. Yes, all. Older windows still needs WinNTSetup2_iso.cmd and a 3rd party driver like imdisk.
  22. Update: Version 2.3.2.0 - using native ISO driver on Windows 8 - ISO files can be passed as -source: parameter - new cmdline option: -DisableHiberBoot - new cmdline option: -win8noanimation - multiboot options automatically disable Hiberboot of Win 8 and set bootmenupolicy to legacy - fixed more custom language issues
  23. Hmm, that could explain it, on the first few tests I used the 90 days Enterprise trail and it worked flawless. Currently I always use Pro and I mostly don't work.
  24. Yeah, i also noticed that the win 8 animation tweak sometimes not works. But thing i have found a solution with group policy for it. About off-topic, you know I have no problem with, but make sure you don't cross the forum rules ...
  25. Interesting, did not know that there were a difference of reboot and shutdown. Okay, which one do you prefer? /disablefastboot /disablehiberboot /disablehybridboot
