360 Extreme Explorer Modified Version
AstroSkipper replied to Humming Owl's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
In Mypal 68, you can check in about:config the variables media.mediasource.enabled and media.mediasource.webm.enabled if they are set to true. And there are three more variables beginning with media.mediasource. Maybe, it helps. Cheers, AstroSkipper- 2,340 replies

My Windows XP computer is equipped with only 1.5GB of RAM. And it's just SD-RAM. But in single-process mode, and using the cusom button memoryMinimizationButton and the tool Firemin, it's fine, so far.

@XPerceniol, did you try to make Mypal 68 as your standard browser? Or maybe, it depends on the location of Mypal folder. They are obviously different. I used the folder Portable, created by me, and you the standard program folder. And one other question. Why do you have a subfolder mypal in the Mypal main folder?

Yeah, you could do that. But I would recommend to export these entries into a reg file if you need to restore it.

As I mentioned earlier, I'm not a Python programmer. I have never learned or used this programming language. So, as long as there is no one taking a look into the provided source code of ProxHTTPSProxy and giving their assessment, nothing further can be done in this project, unfortunately. Just a reminder! Anyway, hope dies last! Kind regards, AstroSkipper

@mina7601, @dmiranda, thanks for your confirmation! @mina7601, you are right. These entries don't seem to contain any kind of telemetry. Here are my entries: [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2\Mypal] [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Theodor2\Mypal\Launcher] "c:\\Portable\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Image"=dword:62a1c659 "c:\\Portable\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Telemetry"=dword:00000000 "C:\\Portable\\Mypal\\mypal.exe|Browser"=hex(b):00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00 Other registry keys, belonging to Mypal 68, I couldn't find after searching in my registry editor. @XPerceniol, you can see I do have an entry belonging to the telemetry with a value of 0. This means the telemetry has been disabled. In your case, this registry entry does not even exist. Therefore, all is good, nothing to worry about. Cheers, AstroSkipper PS: And, from now on, one would probably have to set the Boolean truth value of the following equation to true: Theodor2 = Feodor2

Mypal 68 is not a portable browser. It creates a profile folder outside the main program directory and registry keys, too. Maybe, Feodor's real name is Theodor! I'll check for Mypal's registry keys, too, when I start my desktop computer the next time. But, don't worry, keep cool! Feodor2 is a good guy. Cheers, AstroSkipper

@George King, maybe, this may help you to distribute your archive with language files: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/deploying-firefox-language-packs In this article, altough targeting an enterprise environment, a directory called distribution and a policy called RequestedLocales is mentioned. Maybe, it helps. Cheers, AstroSkipper

Thanks for your information! I thought you needed it for private use. Enabling an installed language was no problem for me in Mypal 68.12.4b. But don't forget Mypal 68 is still under development, maybe a reason you have got problems, especially in preconfiguring such an archive. For example, Internationalization & Localization has not been implemented yet. Cheers, AstroSkipper

I can confirm that VirusTotal's new interface fails again. A file can be uploaded, the service seems to check the hash, but this checking is never coming to an end. No hash of the file is shown. Tested in New Moon 28.10.6a1, latest build from 2022-07-06 with installed palefill 1.16. I already reported it in the issues of palefill on GitHub. In Mypal 68, it doesn't work anymore, either. Cheers, AstroSkipper

Copying the XPI files to the folder Chrome\extensions is enough? No editing of a file necessary? I didn't preconfigure one of these browsers in the past. I have not needed this so far. What about my suggestion to integrate a fully configured profile folder? Of course, you have to edit the file profile.ini to your needs in such a case, using relative paths only.

Hi @XPerceniol, SFX files are compressed archives that have been combined with an executable module, allowing Windows users to extract the archive's files without a decompression program. Additionaly, a script can be created and injected to perform during unpacking different actions. Such an archive can be unpacked in the same way as in the case of a ZIP file, too. (You can see the English lesson has paid off, Lol ).

To make Mypal more portable was already discussed in the issues of Mypal 68. Here is the link: https://github.com/Feodor2/Mypal68/issues/67. Or you create a real portable version as on portableapps.com.

No one has told Mypal that there are extensions to install. What about an integration of a preconfigured profile folder, containing all wanted extensions, into the Mypal program folder? Then you create your repack version. It would be a bit more portable with Adblock and your preferred language onboard.

I can't test it at the moment. What does happen when you unpack this archive and start Mypal?

Hi @George King, what should this SFX Mypal repack do? The versions, created by Feodor2, are only zip archives which have to be unpacked.

My Browser Builds (Part 3)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Hi @roytam1, sorry for being off-topic! I got a private English lesson for free, and unfortunately, of all things in your thread. But now, I am initiated into the mysteries of the English language. Generally, I hate to be off-topic, but I couldn't reject such a schooling deliberately, and truth be told, I enjoyed it. Mea culpa! Kindest regards, AstroSkipper PS: And to be a bit on-topic again, I installed your recent version of NM 28, and as far as I can see, it works great. Thank you very much for all your efforts! -
My Browser Builds (Part 3)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Ok, I think I understand what you mean. The word "either"has to be used in the case of a negation preceding it. Thank you very much for clarifying! Obviously, I didn't use that word correctly. Mea culpa! And many thanks again! -
My Browser Builds (Part 3)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I didn't want to say "it works in Germany, too", what I meant was the movies can be watched even in my native language German either. Is that right? Or do I really have a problem with the word "either"? -

Thanks for your hints! I do not use Google translator in general, only if I want to have a second opinion. Most of my posts are written by myself. Google translator doesn't work properly, most translations are crap. -
My Browser Builds (Part 3)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Although I am in many ways old school , I watch movies using my USB stick or mobile hard disk, connected to a WD player, at my TV flat screen. So, I am both, a bit old school and a bit modern. In the last years, I used DVD and VHS rather rarely. -

https://pluto.tv/ is not restricted in my area i.e. it works and in German, too either. The desktop version works in Mypal 68 with spoofing the user agent. UXP-based browsers, I didn't try yet. -
My Browser Builds (Part 3)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Thanks for the information! I personally do not use streaming services. I don't watch movies online either. Only offline! And if I wanted to watch movies using tubitv, I would have to connect via VPN. This service is in my area (Germany) blocked. I could do that, but I prefer watching movies in my native language i.e. in German. -
My Browser Builds (Part 3)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
Yeah, no problem to load this site, but did you try to watch any of these movies for free? Spoofing the user agent works, though, but this site doesn't seem to offer movies for free. Either I do something wrong or this site has changed to an untrustworthy one. I tried it on my Android tablet either, and none of the movies were for free. Could you really use this service without payments in the past? Anyway, very strange! Cheers, AstroSkipper -
My Browser Builds (Part 3)
AstroSkipper replied to roytam1's topic in Browsers working on Older NT-Family OSes
I used an Android 9 Chrome user agent, and no free movies. You have to watch via Apple TV or Amazon, And that means you have to pay for it. Or the filter free doesn't work properly anymore.
