Not sure who you are talking to, but just in case.... Actually it was genuine - got it internally but have decided to wait until it's officially released. Will amend my post above. Meanwhile I used System Restore to return to the status quo.

MSE wont install on 8.8.1 for a good reason. Windows Defender perhaps should have been called something else on this operating system as, in these OS's only, it contains an antivirus and it's unwise to run more than one antivirus at the same time. It's a personal choice. Installing a 3rd party antivirus or security suite will disable it anyway. Personally I don't trust either WD or Windows Firewall so use 3rd party software.

Hey thanks for that. Which one is the default theme? I have so many here that I've forgotten which one came with the software.

@ BigMuscle. a question if I may. I have so many different theme atlases stored that I don't know which one came with your latest software installer. Could you clarify that please? Also which ones are no longer recommended? I think I saw that Win8CP is no longer good or am I wrong?.

I multi-boot Vista Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 and Windows 8.1 Pro w/MC (x64) and I still think of Vista as my favourite so it is my main OS. It was unfairly maligned when first announced because everyone and their uncle had to find new drivers or switch their hardware or whatever, it was such a departure from XP. That was all my old computer could run and I used to even keep it in a VM on this one but it was too temperamental for my liking so it's long gone. I'll be using Vista as my main unhl it too goes EOL in 2017 or whenever.

Maybe it was because I ended task on DWM.exe and let it restart after dropping the license key into the folder this time. I think I overlooked that previously.

No newer versions of AGT for the final versions then? Without the tweaker I can't see how to easily make AG adjustments, which makes the whole exercise difficult, for me at least. That's a shame, but I can understand.

@BigMuscle, I liked the early incarnations of the software but held off using them permanently until now. I see you have what appears to be final release for 8.1 now on your website. So I donated, have a key and used the installer. OK have generated the key and placed in the folder, that has cleared the watermark but I can't see any way of adjusting appearance. Also at Startup this appeared: (see Edit below) Edit: The installer wanted to install directly to C: drive and my Win 8.1 is on N: so made adjustments, wrongly it would seem. Got rid of the above by moving the folder out of Program Files but still can't figure out how to configure Aero Glass effects. Sorry I posted this in the wrong spot originally so simply copied that post over here.

He's not stopping development, he's just no longer releasing public builds until he's done. I know it's hard to find the post in the many pages of mess, but he said it somewhere in there... EDIT: Here: I don't blame BM at all for making that decision. It could be argued that those posting about cracking it should perhaps be banned. However, that's not my decision thankfully.

Folks. give BigMuscle a break, this is a work in progress and if you read the very first post it tells you there wont be an installer until it's final. Nowhere is it mentioned about a charge for it. That was people chit-chatting amongst themselves that started that rumour. It's up to BigMuscle what happens when it's final. Also as it's beta there obviously will be things that don't work properly. Be patient with him.

Windows Blue is under testing so to be expected I would imagine. BigMuscle is working with RTM.
