  1. Hello, I am using HFSLIP with the FDVFILES to create a Win2000 installer. The problem I am having is that for some reason it breaks the TAPI and I can't get my modem software to work. I'm able to install my modem drivers and such - but no joy on the program. If I make an installer without the FDVFILES it works fine. So clearly the FDVFILES is excluding some TAPI files. So I was wanting to know what files are normally installed for the TAPI in win2000, so I can go in and add those files back. Also if there are any reg entries, that info would be helpful as well. I have been experimenting with this for a couple months with no success - hence me posting this question. Thanks in advance.
  2. Spoiled: Thanks for the link. Ponch: I don't know which one it would be as I have done somewhere between 20-50 installs. I discovered something new. Even if I remove everything but Modem, Ports, and Modem Support If I quit and restart the program 3 time it then works and the Modem is made ready!!! Then every time after that! So the question, is why is going on in the removal of components that I have to do that. What is the restarting of the app doing to cause it to eventual work?
  3. Thanks for replying. Its not actually a double post (at least I don't think) as this one is PhoneTray Free specific, where the other post is just a general question about file removal, independent from PhoneTray Free. I did this cause there might be a person who knows about a file list but nothing about PhoneTray Free, or there might be a person who knows nothing about a file removal list but had the same problem with PhoneTray Free and was able to resolve it. So they truly are two separate topics. I will attach two files, the first one is a version in which PhoneTray Free works, the second is a version in which PhoneTray Free doesn't work. The reason for the two is that I'm trying to figure out what components are needed by PhoneTray Free. I am slowly removing components. The file from the last fail I have deleted already. The link you gave for your 2nd answer doesn't work the URL is truncated. Could you kindly repost it? Thanks in advance
  4. I was wondering if there is a list of what files are excluded by selecting the various component removals. When I remove "16-bit support" what files are being removed?
  5. As I am running into the problem of when I remove components that should have nothing to do with the modem the program fails to "ready" my modem. I was wondering if there is a list of what files are excluded by selecting the various component removals. Like when I remove "16-bit support" what files are being removed?
  6. SLIP STREAM: I am wanting to use the "slip stream" method given in the readme file. As explained this will only apply the updates which replace already existing files - not the updates that give new files. So I am wondering what updates will I need to apply the "old fashioned" way, as the readme doesn't list either the updates that work this was nor the updates that don't. Thanks in advance.
  7. Should I apply 98Lite before or after?
