We don't think we're getting a DDOS attack. The server is throwing up 404 and 403 errors as well, so there's something wrong with the server.
  3. 3.5 GB? Should be enough! Most of the extras on the CD only come up to about 220-250MB, that would probably result in 500-700 MB of installed applications.
  4. Are you using a compressed SFX archive to extract during the batch? If so, give a time gap between the 'extraction' and 'starting the installation' in your batch, because there may be some delays in the extraction. Another reason might be that you have specified a bad path in the SFX in extract to
  5. Lots of links there So, you use this as a personal reference, or a website for all to view?
  6. The edit button on your post allows you to change it
  7. Some won't work unless you reboot. And registry keys containing values such as S-1-5-21-1482476501-113007714-842925246-1003 is different on every Windows XP Setup
  8. oooh, that's way beyond what I know about, although that would be really good to have! Getting text-mode setup to ask for a second CD will require some files to be edited that's for sure, and the digital signatures may be a problem.
  9. What's this thread for?
  10. Is the Google toolbar a web installation, or a downloadable setup file?
  11. To bypass the Welcome to Microsoft Windows, add this line under [unattended]: UnattendSwitch="yes"
  12. Here you go: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en This includes the Custom Installation Wizard for Office 2000.
  13. If you don't mind me asking, what has this got to do with Visual Styles exactly?
  14. ResHacker seems to be a popular one for resource editing those kind of files.

    RPC HELP

    Moved to Windows XP
  16. Line 1 is [Data].. hmmm. I don't know if its XP Setup being stupid, but I don't see anything wrong with that line. But try the following: Add ;SetupMgrTag before [Data] Most of the winnt.sif files created out of Setup Manager includes that line. I know its a comment, but try adding it anyway. Also, do what Terminator3 said about replacing $OEM$\$1\install\batch.bat with %systemdrive%\install\batch.bat
  17. Run setup.exe with the /a switch to create an installation point with an embedded serial and name/organisation. At that point, you can burn this installation point to CD or slipstream further service packs to it.
  18. A mass Denial of Service attack on WindowsUpdate from users infected with the MSBlaster worm. In fact this attack has already started due to some users' system clocks being ahead of time, and WU is showing signs of slowness. This attack will prevent other users from downloading the RPC flaw fix.
  19. It varies across Operating Systems. On XP its "-a", on Windows Server 2003 its "/a", and in Windows 2000 shutdown.exe doesn't exist.
  20. Correct me if I'm wrong, but are you talking about customizing the screens of GUI-mode Setup? (The area where devices are installed, network, start menu, and components etc.)
  21. Get Keyser Soze's Unofficial update pack: http://www.MSFN.org/comments.php?id=4314 Not sure about a silent install option though.

    Outlook

I hear that Outlook 2003 is supposed to be one of the most anticipated products out of the Office 2003 suite. MS have responded to users' requests to improve Outlook 2003.
  24. Yup
  25. You can do that in Profile Information via the forum's "My Controls"
