  1. ****, it looked as if someone was reading my mind! 8)
  2. Its not a problem on my end. Try deleting your internet cache, and delete cookies related to MSFN. The open up your browser to this forum, login, check the options for cookies. See if its ok now.
  3. yes, G6 FTP Server is the same as BulletProof FTP Server. Not many people realise that it was name changed at version 2.10 or earlier. Another alternative is to use Serv-U FTP 3.0, type it in google.com to find the download site.
  4. Is there a direct URL link to the AMD Processor driver? I want to install it on my other PC which has no internet access.
  5. nobody in #msfn on Dalnet. Anyway, what do we need a channel for? We have the forums.
  6. BAH, I've heard that the new CPU drivers MS have put on Windows Update have made some noticable improvements in speed (as reported by several people) To get these drivers, go to Windows Update, then Windows Catalog, and browse for drivers.
  7. MSN Messenger (called Windows Messenger in XP) MSN Explorer is the browser, and Messenger is the Instant Messenger chat program.
  8. Yeah, Norton's Firewall is ok, a pain to set up the permissions, it asks more questions than ZoneAlarm does! Tiny and Sygate are also other decent alternatives. Sygate has XP support in one of their pre-releases. Avoid BlackIce like the plague!
  9. I've heard that ZoneAlarm kills the internet connection for no reason from time to time. Leave it turned off for an hour or two and see if your internet connection gets spiked. I wish ZoneLabs would hurry up getting a fix for it, so for now, XP is on hold for me.
  10. Its VBulletin and can be found at ht*p://www.vBulletin.com This board has been modified to make it WinXP themed, and it was no easy task for FthrJACK!
  11. I cannot access your FTP NikNt, an error occurs. You are probably able to access your own FTP because its on the PC you're using.

    Fix start menu..

The reason why these arrows on your start menu appear is because you have "Personalised Menus" enabled. Just disable it, as shown in this screenshot:

***me falls dead to the floor at the sight of Rick's HUGE start menu!*** You need a serious tidy up! I bet its an annoying fidget to move your mouse to the folder on the far right without accidently opening any other folders! I only have 6 folders in my start menu. I usually put my popular programs on the quick launch bar to keep the start menu small.

Use paintshop pro or photoshop, you can save it as JPEG, GIF or PNG format (depending on what the image is) and its compressed as well, down to something like 10kb - 200kb
  15. If you do want to be playing games from time to time, the ATI AIW and Radeon (two in one) 32mb card would suit you, but its expensive. (£230) I use an ATI Radeon 64mb DDR, great for games and DVD, and its about £170 so maybe you might go for this card instead?
  16. why not try both? Anyway, bulletproof should tell you what IP its using when you put the FTP online
  17. Ok, so you don't play games much. But do you often watch Multimedia content on your PC often, such as DVD movies? An ATI Radeon card would be an option as it has excellent image and DVD playback quality.

    pic? where...? :confused
  19. In BulletProof FTP Server, go to the following drop-down menus: Setup > Main > General. Change the port number to something like 2600, and then get someone to test and login into your FTP using the IP address and port number. See what happens.
  20. It may be a nice useful inbuilt disk management program, but it is [b:7a4897ea7d]very very[/b:7a4897ea7d] limited as to what it can do. Partition Magic 7 r00lz all the way.
  21. Nero works fine in XP, I have no InCD installed though. FthrJACK, I have used that in-built XP CD-Burner, and I have to say it's [b:22a9a6fb5f]CRAP![/b:22a9a6fb5f] Some stupid error came up (can't remember what it said, but I don't really care since I can get almost all CD-Burning software working in XP (Nero, Clone-CD, DiscDump)
  22. I can't get MSN Messenger working at college either, pain in the a** proxies. I did an IPCONFIG /ALL to find some information, entered IP numbers in the HTTP Proxy options in MSN Messener, had no luck. also Newsgroups, IRC and FTP is also blocked (f***ers)
  23. these two programs look like RAM benchmark programs... (not what I wanted) Can it really find out what brand of DDR RAM I have? I guess I will try out DOC Memory first
