  1. @albator no flaming, rule 7b http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=18408 neo's suggestion is a a good one if one has MS Office 2007
  2. "Over 800 improvements"! Little warning: when I installed this it locked up my mouse and I had to restart. Also drag and drop between host and guest is not supported yet, I tried. Performance is much better than VMWare 5.5.3.34685
  3. There might be a SPC sound pack that contains the voices. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SPC700_sound_format http://snesmusic.org/v2/profile.php?profil...p;selected=2505 http://www.zophar.net/zsnes/spc/ You can play them back in XMPlay using a plugin and if you wanted to you could tell it to export to WAV. http://www.un4seen.com/ http://support.xmplay.com/file_comment.php?id=512 You might have better luck getting the voices from the N64 version though.
  4. great to know thats all it was
  5. Try changing your video card and try booting into safemode (msconfig>boot.ini>safeboot). I think its that because as bootvis shows you have a long delay (about 12 seconds like you guessed) and 100% cpu usage when its loading the video drivers. I think I remember having a similar problem with an nvidia card a long time ago. [edit] I now noticed the nvsvc32 service listed in bootvis too
  6. Well it should be said that AACS is not totally cracked (all but total), as this arstechnica article points out http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20070213-8837.html
  7. use microsoft bootvis to identify what is causing the delay, probably a driver not loading or a service is disabled. You can also check eventviewer, I would reccomend you clear the logs and then reboot.
  8. two minor updates for the preview release:
  9. nice pics + hardware. Impressive temps for a passive cooled CPU but what is the room temperature? Looks like powerful hardware but as for achieving a silent pc, and you'll hate me for saying this, I prefer to just buy a Shuttle XPC
  10. yeah I heard about this, its awesome really Surprise Surprise!
  11. 7600 GT vs 7900 GS http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?ca...5&card2=443 Conclusion based on specs and the "synthetic" benchmarks: 7900 GS > 7600 GT even in that comparison the 7600 GT has higher core and mem clocks but the 7900 GS still wins. Another way of looking at it is the 7900 GS is a highway with more lanes but a slightly lower speed limit
  12. very handy site, blackviper style plus reg files http://www.speedyvista.com/services.html
  13. Ah, I think I removed that with nLite because it just goes to the 'Computer Name' tab for me. That would explain it.
  14. Slightly off-topic but related, is there a way to disable the image resize feature in Board Settings?
  15. Picture from VRzone of the OEM version http://www.vr-zone.com/index.php?i=4622
  16. Demo now out Filename: supremecommanderdemo.zip Size: 1097.1MB This single-player demo includes part of the early Cybran campaign and one skirmish map, playable on three difficulty settings. http://www.filemirrors.com/search.src?file...size=1123435212 http://www.3dgamers.com/dlselect/games/sup...erdemo.zip.html http://www.gamespot.com/pages/gamespace/do...amp;mode=latest http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/supreme...demo/11542.html

  20. lol I thought this was going to be the NSFW Back to the Future NES game review
  21. Well no need to worry about your topic being pulled, we don't "censor" anything unless it breaks the forums rules As for Trusted Computing it is something that also concerns me as it is quietly sneaking into computer hardware and software. Most people are unaware that the new AMD and Intel processors have Presidio and LaGrande built in for example. One of the problems is the company's are being very quiet about this technology and re-name them occasionally to confuse us I think. Right now Trusted Computing has no effect, but I can imagine a future where in order to shop or bank online for example your hardware and software would need to verify that it is 'trusted'. HDCP which is used to "protect" HD DVD and Blue-ray is another example, but people have discovered workarounds to defeat the protection. As for Linux the kernel recently added support for trusted computing, the real concern I think was over EFI which is intended to replace BIOS.
  22. I understand how overclocking works, I've have overclocked my last two pc's cpu and memory by about 20% without touching the voltages. I am just questioning whether its possible to damage the hardware if you leave the voltages alone, or perhaps undervolt.
  23. I tend to overclock cautiously, and have never adjusted voltages to increase my overclocking potential. I think as long as you dont increase the voltage, your overclocks are safe. Once you start increasing the voltages, you are pushing the hardware's design and specifications and could potentially damage it. What are your thoughts? am I right/wrong/other?
  24. No, I don't use it because i don't like waiting.
