  1. your post makes sense, sounds like you know what you're doing, sounds like a bug.
  2. To simplify things I've collected the patched termsrv dll for Vista x86 (RTM & SP1) and x64 (RTM & SP1) http://rapidshare.com/files/127680564/VIST...ATCHES.zip.html NOTES: The above cmd requires Administrator rights. Only Windows Vista Ultimate, Enterprise and Business editions include the Remote Desktop server. This does not allow multiple sessions to the same user account. If you stop the 'Terminal Service' while using Remote Desktop you will be disconnected. You need to setup another account with a password and enable remote desktop connections. I only tested the SP1 x86 patch.
  3. Some users, including myself, may want Vista for certain features and not others.
  4. Thanks for posting this! I was thought of making something like this when I was using Vista, but that only lasted about an hour before I put XP back on... I don't see why this could not be made into a shell extension, aka added to the right-click context menu to make things even easier... [EDIT] untested but here's the idea: Might be a variable for %current username% that could replace "administrators" too.
  5. Sabayon Linux 3.3 Release Plan I am looking forward to this one.
  6. http://www.theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=37790 I dont care I want my G86

  10. most recent Intel processes use SpeedStep http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SpeedStep likewise AMD processors use Cool'n'Quiet http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cool%27n%27Quiet Check Power Options in Control Panel.
  11. of course you may post your personal page here, you're not trying to promote or sell anything.
  12. I have IP concerns about Skype but I have to admit "it just works".
  13. Civilization is a great series and Civ4 is the best imo; probably one of my favorite games ever. Only problem is it is very time consuming so I rarely play it. Thinking about digging out Alpha Centauri soon for a round or two, I always play the Provost and get into a war with the planet.
  14. It opens in IE7 for me. What do you get a blank page? Missing elements? BTW welcome to MSFN
  15. http://www.winaddons.com/10-things-the-ave...ow-about-skype/ I did not know about the business version (MSI), headphone trick, and plugins. I use Portable Skype but I am concerned about 'lock-in' so I have 2 more to add 11) Skype can be made portable using this nsis launcher http://www.robloach.net/project/portableapplications 12) Good alternatives to Skype: http://www.gizmoproject.com http://www.wengophone.com Nice post and handy site.
  16. opens in IE7 for me, I primarily use Firefox though.
  17. BTW Jeremy when Intel says 'lower power and less heat' I am sure they are comparing to their older processors. The X2 3800 draws less watts than a E6300; the new Brisbanes cores (65nm) probably less. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/displ...fficient_6.html http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/09/25/green_machine/ saving watts here is not economical, its only for thermal purposes. The E6300 is still a better cpu, maybe more bang for the watt, but for the buck? As for AMD sockets AM2 is definitely the one to choose for many reasons. IMO Intel is leading in performance with its current chips, however AMD -especially with the latest price cuts- is the best value. I would suggest the new Brisbane core over Windsor though i do not see the 3600+ available in retail box. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103036
  18. Its difficult to answer when one does not understand the question. Personally I am not too familiar with managing the backend of a website. Only software I can think of is Nvu.
  19. alot of that software sounds old and unlikely to be used again. I would just put it neatly into a box and out of sight. Otherwise I would create folders for each cd or floppy and copy the contents into each and burn these folders to dvd. Or you could create image files such as iso and specifiy the volume label as you said if you think its needed. I would use ImgBurn for that task.
  20. The AMD64 X2 3800+ AM2 Windsor 65W is a bargain at NewEgg http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16819103733 I am running one of these right now and reccomend it.
  21. I did this once, had to import into Outlook Express and then into Thunderbird. http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=82067 http://sourceforge.net/projects/ol2mbox http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.p...79a034d465a5930
