  8. this should work: create a file inside the folder called Desktop.ini and paste this inside it: [.ShellClassInfo] IconFile=nameoficonfile.ico IconIndex=0 of course please edit the name of the file appropriately. More details here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default....ding/custom.asp

Does it reappear after rebuilding the library? [EDIT] According to this site http://www.nwlink.com/~zachd/pss/pss.html
  10. http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/home-entert...60-image-101219 it is fake.
  11. We only have to get past a couple bad bugs and we're there! I finally figured out that RyanVM and nLite v99.9b were breaking my install , so I can now resume testing the Driver Packs.
  12. I'm not sure he (kotlas?) is looking for warez. ned1900 are you using nLite, RyanVM Update Pack, and/or Bashrat the Sneaky's Driver Packs?
  13. Welcome to MSFN Please get the fix and continue the discussion here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=312145
  14. Just did a "clean" slipstream with the fix, aftx2k.sy_ (71kb) does appear in I386, the old afasttx2k.sys is no longer there.
  15. well i'd rather be wrong than be quiet I concur that when winnt.sif was created (not copied over yet) there were 2 instances of MSDosInitiated= "No" I will test the fix very soon.
  16. please post it here: http://rapidshare.de/ I'd like to check it out. btw i do care about my privacy, im just pretty confident my non-MS firewall does the job [edit] I forget where I saw it, but i think someone filtered all outgoing packets from a Windows Machine using something like Nessus or SmoothWall.
  17. yeah that was spam, did you try the Firefox Extension i mentioned?
  18. Maybe all that needs to be done is rename/replace all instances of "fasttx2k" in the A subfolder to "afasttx2k" including in the INF? [edit] seems that may indeed be the problem, http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=44774
  19. They do expand to the same file. Same file, different driver version, 1.00.0.37 vs 1.00.1.37. If you look in DriverPack_MassStorage_V5042\D\M\P\2 You will see fasttx2k.sys and a 'copy' in the "A" subfolder. There is no afasttx2k.sys in the driverpack, its improperly referenced. makecab /D CompressionType=LZX /D CompressionMemory=21 /L I386 %DPDIR2%\M\P\2\fasttx2k.sys fasttx2k.sy_ > NUL makecab /D CompressionType=LZX /D CompressionMemory=21 /L I386 %DPDIR2%\M\P\2\A\fasttx2k.sys afasttx2k.sy_ > NUL [sorry about the edits btw]
  20. i sucessfully installed all the driver packs in vmware with 0 errors, im repacking cd and will try on several different machines momentarily. [edit] Had to change something in nlite. I'm using Method2. DriverPack_MassStorage_V5042.7z BTS_DriverPacks_BASE_V50413.exe
  21. I know TweakUI can change the location for individual profiles. I think the best way to do what you want is to change the Profiles Direcotry in WINNT.SIF. [GuiUnattended] ProfilesDir="C:\Documents and Settings\" You can change the default location of Documents and Settings using this entry.
  22. Im very excited about this new update!
  23. np Google returns very few results for "askstrider", this is really the only one i could find: http://64.233.161.104/search?q=cache:3SHrG...kStrider+&hl=en I have to read it more later, but it sounds like a enchanced event viewer, and system restore.
  24. There are some really good guides here: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/ Free Solution (no menus): How to copy multiple DVD movies to 1 DVDR with DVD Shrink Shareware Solution: Advanced TMPGEnc DVD Author Guide
  25. i didnt say it does anything, dont put words in my mouth. I just thought it was relevant to the discussion about how and why windows has the history, cache, recently used files, etc features. In fact, I've been arguing against 'the myth', you can use software to 'watch windows' and so far its proven innocent. Being skeptical is healthy (to an extent). Though i don't really like these features (bloat), we do have nlite.
