  1. I'm using the latest version but it seems that when I have the flyout option it takes a long time for icons to appear when I browse through folders in the flyout menu. They just display the generic white 'paper' icon. They do load but it seems to take a while. I've cleaned the icon caches but that doesn't seem to help. Any thoughts?
  2. I run 7 with an RX 580, no problems with official drivers.
  3. Finally got it! Thank you, jaclaz. I went down a little bit of a rabbit hole on some of your links, and I can't figure out exactly how I got to it...but in case anyone else ever comes looking, the drivers I finally got to work are here: https://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/event/H310_windowstool/ The drivers are "win7_8th_i3_i5_Driver_2.0.rar". Thanks again for the help!
  4. I tried again on a clean install...it seems to make a difference the order in which I install them. Now I got everything except the video controller. The hardware ID is PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_3E98&SUBSYS_08591028&REV_02 Any ideas on that one?
  5. Well, thanks again, that got me most of the way. I'm still left with a couple of devices I can't find any compatible drivers for: - Video controller (this is the integrated Intel one...I doubt I'm going to find something for this) - ACPI Wake Alarm - Intel Management Engine - AMD Root Hub (xHCI) - Intel USB 3.0 Root Hub
  6. Wow, thanks for all that work! Most of those links were ones that I didn't come across (especially the first one about the chipset). I'm going to give them a try and will be back with what I find out. Thanks again!
  7. Just a shot in the dark to see if anyone has managed to run Win7 on a Dell XPS 8930. It's got a Coffee Lake processor and a Z370 board, and I was able to get USB drivers, which is typically the hardest part. But I am missing a bunch of other ones (sound, ethernet, and a bunch of system devices/chipset). I've been all over the place looking, and tried Driver Identifier, but it really wasn't helpful. Anybody manage to get this working?
  8. If you delete your default gateway from your regular (non-vpn) connection that should act as a killswitch. I've used this before while using OpenVPN. I have a script 'disable.cmd' which is basically just this line: route delete 0.0.0.0 192.168.254.254 Where the 2nd IP address is just the address of your gateway/router.

    XP- IPV6

I'm now receiving an IPv6 address from Comcast, so I figured I would see how XP would handle this situation. I installed the IPv6 protocol in XP per MS's instructions. I haven't made any changes or adjustments. On the hardware end, IPv6 is in native mode, and is supported by the router. My XP PC is receiving an IPv6 address with no problems, and can get to a few IPv6 sites. However, when I run the tests at IPV6-test.com, they all pass except for IPv6 "large packet". I've read this can happen if a firewall is filtering IMCPv6 messages, so I've confirmed that's not the case. Running this test on two Windows 7 machines results in a pass, but I get this same result on two XP machines. I've been messing around with settings, and the only thing that seems to fix this is to reduce MTU (on the router) to 1280 (from 1500). However, this gives me severe issues connecting to regular sites, so this isn't really a fix. Again, this is only a situation on the XP machines. I'm beginning to think it's just some sort of issue or limitation in the IPv6 implementation in SP3. Of course it will be a while before this becomes an everyday issue, but I'm curious...has anyone else tried IPv6 in XP and experienced issues?
