    XPize 4.0 MCE RC

@ Arthur: You 1st issue with the VS is fixed for final version. About the boot screen, it is more complicated. I did some research and I saw that the /bootlogo /noguiboot switches should be used at the same time. This means that, using this method, the progress bar and the messages (like the chkdsk) will not be shown to the user. BTW, have anyone tried using only the /bootlogo switch? [boot loader] timeout=30 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /fastdetect /bootlogo

Hola Fox Mulder. Thats happen because the boot.ini is set to /noguiboot /bootlogo. If you want to see boot messages, you will have to uninstall XPize boot screen.

Selecting the VS will also install the wallpaper, thats the reason. I did it that way from the beginning, but maybe it is time to change that. About the taskbar, are you referring to the VS not installing properly? this bug will be fixed in final. About the icons, I dont understand what you mean.

Try uninstalling this files. Are the crashes gone? About the switches, let me know what the exact command you used. I will reproduce it in my computer.

    Couple of bugs

OK, I've found the file responsible for crashing WinDVD. It is msxml3.dll. Run the XPize uninstaller and select it for removal. Let me know if this fix your issue with PowerDVD.

    Couple of bugs

The theme issue will be fixed for next version. About PowerDVD, I'm downloading it to try to reproduce the error. I will post my findings soon. EDIT: Uninstall XPize and try with Lite version and tell me if the PowerDVD issue still is there. Thanks

  10. XPize 3.2 -> this is the stable release of the 3.x series. It is only for post-install (no i386 patching and nLite support). It has, of course, many less files to be patched. It also has a different logon, wallpapers, VS, screensaver and wizard style. See a screenshot here XPize 4.0 MCE RC -> It is the latest XPize version. Many new files has been added, so there is almost a not xpized part in Windows XP. It has new logon, screensaver, VS, boot screen etc...One of the most important features is the support for 128x128 icons, perfectly handle by XPize Settings which allow you to do that and more. Some critical bugs has been fixed and the uninstaller works even much cleaner now. Remember it is still in development. XPize 4.0 MCE Lite RC -> It is the same as the above. The only difference resides in the exclusion of 128x128 icons. It is recommended for people having memory allocation errors. And as Maleko said, you dont have to install all stuff XPize includes
  11. I've just uninstalled the boot screen, restoration of the original perfectly done. No need to uninstall XPize completelly. Have a look in C:\WINDOWS\XPize\Tools. Look if you have RESTORE.cmd there. If yes, run it and restart. Also check your boot.ini in C:\. Post here the content of it. And also look in C:\WINDOWS for a boot.bmp.

Need feedback. Do you think I am able to fix the issue with so little info (none) ?
  13. yes <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OK, let me contact kalavera (the author) to see what he can do about it. Thanks for reporting.

superleiw: The problem is reshacker not being compatible with 64 bit files (as far as I know). I will study all about it after 4.0.

Why dont you try? because I've never ever had those issues in all XPize history. Try Lite version also please. Remember to uninstall previous versions first.

  18. Good feature, but it wont be for 4.0 If the developer says it has been fixed...what else to say? I focus on a bug, try to fix it ASAP, and when the bug has been fixed, I forget about it forever. Thats my way of doing things, sorry if you dont like it, but it helps me to maintain my forums clean, ordered and let me focus on unfixed bugs. Thanks for your 2 cents

All those having translated versions of the XPize logon, please send them to me. I will upload them to my site. Thanks
  20. XPize backed up already xpized files, thats why you should uninstall previous versions first (it is logical, isnt it?) Try System Restore. I locked the topic because I dont see the point in talking about something that has been already fixed. Why not discovering new bugs instead of reopening thrreads about the same? XPero
  21. The theme issue will be fixed in final version. No way of enjoying it because the file was not properly installed. DO NOT INSTALL NEW VERSIONS OF XPIZE ON TOP OF PREVIOUS ONES. Thanks

I've heard or read something about Seven Alive making translations of his Logon screen (the one included in XPize). Gonna ask him. Anyway the perfect thing would be having the logon tyranslated into many languages and then available on my site for download as a separate download. You would only have to replace XPize_Logon.exe in system32 and reboot
  23. Maleko: This will be fixed in final version. wait untill then. And NO, dont install XPize on top of a previous version.

I copied and pasted the exact configuration you used and worked like a charm. Uninstall and try again. If you still get the boot and logon, please send me info about the configuration of your partitions, variables or whatever thing that could be "not common".
