It is very dangerous. Also, I dont think XPize "needs" boot screen tweaking. It is not so important for me. It is important for other shell packs like MacOSX and similar. Even if you patch it, you will not get awesome results due to the colors limitation. In brief, I dont want to complicate things and f*** up users PCs.

No, you must uninstall XPize boot screen.

Tell XPize Settings to run on Windows startup, so it can loads your settings. Be sure also to mark the refresh option.

Xpize is an "install-and-forget" application. .NET Framework is needed for XPize Settings, a bundled app which lets you tweak some desktop settings. XPize itself does not need .NET, so you can install it without problems. If you want more info, go to XPize's website and download the guide located in the home page.

I can't figure out what's happening to your computer. But since you said that your PC doesn't accept any shell pack, I think somhing is going wrong in it. Not really an XPize bug. Sorry for not being of help.

yes you can. Simply run the XPize uninstaller (Start -> All programs -> XPize - > Uninstall), expand the Extras section and check Boot screen. Restart.

XPize is using the global variable $Programfiles, no matter in which partiton the program files folder is. It will not patch. however, if you just created a new folder and installed 7zip on it.

Using the limited account, open Display Properties and look if Royale them is available in Appearance tab. If it is apply it (it should). This is not a bug. Xpize only install or applies certain features for the current user only (with admin privileges).

Yes you can. All you have to do is replace the boot.bmp image located in C:\Windows (hidden) with your custom boot screen. Be careful, your image must use a 16-color palette and its size must be 640x480.

Why people is still afraid of .NET when it will be integrated with Vista and subsequent MS OSes? Will you switch to Linux or what? @Delprat: Stating that an app is a piece of junk just because it uses th .NET Framework is stupid. I think there is more interesting points to look at before defining an app as "junk". For example: Does the app do the job it says it does? Is it useful?. Oh, and if you are not going to use it no matter if it uses .NET 1.1 or .NET 2.0, why the hell are you posting at all? Finally, your idea of splitting windows isnt bad, I will try that (at least we got something positive from your comment). Version 4.4.2 released. Check first page for more info. @surcix: I can't reproduce the bug, so no way of trying to fix it. Try uninstalling all Dll files and see if the problem persits. If yes, uninstall Exe, Cpl, etc..If the problem is fixed try installing XPize again and unintall dll one by one (yeah I know it is tedious, but it is the only way to know which file is causing the problem).
