  1. Hey Longhorn, I'll buy that asus mobo from you
  2. Asus makes a very good Mobo in my humble opinion, you model you speak of has plenty of bells and whistles, Intel chipset, support for 2.2Ghz+, ultra DMA 133/100/66 and plenty of expandibility, an overclockers dreammobo . Sorry LongHorn, but this may be due to user interface error
  3. (chuckles to himself) Just imagine...I work for the tech department of a K-12 school district and we've just upgraded our workstations to W2K. It was quite a project, but just imagine how much bigger of a project had we installed XP?!?!?!
  4. Everyone have a safe and bountiful Thanksgiving
  5. okay, I'll be the first to say this..."Peace and goodwill to all mankind"
  6. Thanks FthrJACK (hits the ol' search engine again)
  7. Okay guys and gals, I recently installed a seagate 20gig tape drive on my XP box. The drive came with Yosemite TapeWare XD 6.3, which in my humble opinion is s***e , and am currently evaluating NovaStor Backup, I'm thinking this software is a bit hokey . I've downloaded Dantz Retrospect Pro to evaluate after I've run NovaStor through its paces. My currently topolgy is a peer-to-peer network with 4 clients, so I desire the ability to backup across the network. Any recommendations of, in your opinion, good backup software? Thanks in advance for your feedback
  8. Yes, The sight of it made me drool too
  9. Rick, I'm afraid you'd have to diasble Windows Messenger, not to be confused with MSN Messenger. Windows Messenger is a builtin app for Windows XP. w00t
  10. LongHorn, Thanks for providing us with a sneak preview. I'm not sure whether to be impressed or not. Keep us clued in to any new discoveries and keep those snapshots coming w00t

  13. Hell, searching M$ .dll database for MAPIR.dll turned up no results
  14. ROFL w00t I'll have to add that one to my lingo....
  15. **** Gamehead, you got some GREAT ideas there! Okay, now for some of my ideas. Have M$, LINUX, and MAC have a tremendous orgy of code writing and devise an entirely new OS...call it MC NuxMac. This new OS would be issue free from security concerns, part of the code would be open source, and it would just work
  16. Rick, I can't imagine what it must be like having to access apps, that are continually getting larger and larger, with a 4200 rpm drive. And to add to that demise, you're probably pulling 33 UDMA on the data path from that hard drive. Sorry Rick, but it may be time for you to get that new laptop you've always wanted. w00t
  17. Here's a M$ knowledge base article that may pertain to the issue in question. Technet
  18. Primal, Do you currently have the network icon running in your taskbar? If so, you can try to right click My Network Places, go to properties, right click on your NIC, go to properties, and uncheck the "Show icon in notification area when connected." That may resolve your issue.
  19. Not to change the original post, but......How many of you are on a fulltime dedicated line? And if you are on DSL or some other means, wouldn't deploying a router make more sense then a firewall software? or, do some of you employ both? Inquiring minds want to know w00t
  20. FthrJACK, Please do post some screen shots of Lindows.
  21. Hey everyone, I've been a big fan of Gibson Research Corporation and just wanted to share these utilities avail from his site. XPDite & Unplug n'Pray
