Hi guys, I'm rebuilding my unattended WinXP Pro CD for updates. i have a little problem with the silent installation of Firefox 2.0 on my PC (+ tested in VMware too) : the silent installation of FF finishes without any problem, but when windows install is over, i can see that all the programs shortcuts in the taskbar (all but Desktop + IE6 shortcuts) are gone ! i should see Foobar2000 + Firefox in it. with the same unattended WinXP CD, and replacing FF 2.0 by FF 1.5.0.7 (from my last version), all is OK the shortcuts are normally there. so really don't see why the fact of installing FF 2.0 can do that. Note: I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2 ENG. version, and official FF 2.0 downloaded from Mozilla site. thx a lot. a little problem but very annoying..

I have a Dell laptop with WinXP MCE 2005. I have the CD too (a full MCE DVD customized by Dell too integrate Bonus content). my question is : should the pre-activation thing discussed here work when tested on VMware ? (because virtual environment is not 'manufactured by Dell' on VMware i think) I have planified a full reinstallation on my laptop, but i test my unattended DVD on VMware before, and getting/replacing OEMBIOS files doesn't work. Plus, i remarqued that the VB script which gets the Windows cdkey in the registry is the same key that is written on my laptop sticker... can you help me on that points please ? thx

mine takes 1.15Mb it's not vital to recompress it (or saving 1 or 2Mb is vital for your CD ).

could be cool i've just installed it (the normal way) and i had to reboot my computer before installing D-Tools v4.0 (for a kind of driver). so it's not good for silent install it i think

the guide works for the Web edition too - for the english version, i don't know for french package cause i use english nero versions. there is only a problem with uninstallation (in my case) with an error (which doesn't block the uninstall at all) and manual shortcuts deletion.

@keytotime: thank you. it's now working for me. i use your nerocover.mst file. i don't know if nero scout is present or not for the moment, and no shortcuts have been created (known problem). thx EDIT: Nero 7 compressed with WinRAR 3.51 + shortcuts (31Mb) .... software installed and working properly :) but i tried to uninstall Nero7 to see if all was good, and it told me that it cannot charge a dll i think, related to NeResize.ax (i had to click OK, and it continued just fine). any idea ?

@keytotime: thx for the *.mst upgrades i have a little pb : with Nero7.0.1.2 decompressed (according to keytotime's guide) and the .MST posted in the 1st page, when i try to install Nero 7 using ... msiexec /i "nero.msi path" TRANSFORMS="Nerocover.mst" ... i have an error (translated from french) : "sorry, the installation software must be started with a SetupX.exe file" did i made something wrong ? or forgot to do something ? PS: i'm using the english version. thx

is it possible for someone to purpose a MST file keeping just : - nero basics (nero burning rom 7 + nero toolkits) - nero cover designer - no nero scout ? it could be great because only "basics + no nero scout" and "basics + cover designer" MST are purposed. a mix of them could be very interesting. thx in advance.

@Shamal : i don't know how to do a shortcut to the quicklaunch bar, sorry. if you find how to do this, it can interest me too (i'm looking for a way to put Outlook shortcut there unattendedly)

i have strange things with my silent installation of Ad-aware 1.06 : maybe you can help me. i use this : [code]start /wait %CDROM%\Softwares\AdAware\ad-aware_se_1.06.exe /S taskkill /F /IM Ad-Aware.exe /IM hh.exe[/code] and in fact it doesn't install itself, but points to the Ad-aware installed on my 2nd HDD. strange.

i made my own SFX archive for Foxit PDF Reader. just take 'FoxitReader.exe' and 'fpdfdll5.dll' and put them in a SFX archive with WinRAR. and for the comment : Path=Foxit PDF Reader SavePath Silent=1 Overwrite=1 Shortcut=P, "FoxitReader.exe", "", "", "Foxit PDF Reader" it create the folder for Foxit and the shortcut simple and it works well.

tested. MSN doen't install silently and Messenger Plus doesn't install itself properly. on my system i can't launch it (tells me that MP has not been installed properly, i have to download the last version package). can u tell me if it is my system or your 7Zip file ? thx if you can fix it.
