Now im looking @ this entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\MS-DOS Emulation\AppCompat I have about 50 keys under AppCompat (The only program i have on that list is "Start.exe" but it doesnt have compat entries for IT,it only has 3 things you run with it) I reckon its ok to delete all these also?

Im not complaining mate im not just stating facts.... Why do these programs create so many useless temp files,etc? Just doesnt make any sense to me! (Why cant they be clean cut like some programs are (No cleanup required))

Wow, REGSEEKER is really aggressive (and fast). Yes its the BEST one i have found It is NOT A BEGINNERS TOOL in any means,you can really screw things up.. (Example: Clicking the 'STARTUP ENTRIES' tab and deleting all you find there)

I cannot figure out why AIM creates so many files during its session! YOU CAN DELETE EVERYTHING IT CREATES!! (Saving space) What is in these files anyway? I cant imagine how much space is wasted on someone's machene who doesnt delete them all after they close aim..

I use REGSEEKER and heres my file sizes @ presentUser.dat - 533k System.dat - 3609k

On 98se "task manager" doesnt open with CTRL-ALT-DEL thats why i was curious

I have been wondering about a similar issue..... Im running Win98se and i would like CTRL-ALT-DEL to open task manager (Which i have in 'MY BRIEFCASE') Anyone know where that info is kept?? (The program that opens with you press CTRL-ALT-DEL ("Close Program"))

That newer AIM connects on this server kdc.uas.aol.com Using either port 5190 or 443 The older versions of aim (and icq) connect on this server login.oscar.aol.com (Using either port 5190 or 443) Anyone know why the older versions wont CONNECT to "kdc.uas.aol.com??" Is it a version numba they check when you client attempts to connect?? If you dont have WMP installed you might be able to install wmp9 and run it in Win98/XP compat mode (Wmp9 is the BEST of the series) Good luck!
