The current list with KB944043 included is not online yet. that's the reason to download the current hfslipfc here hope you don't mind if i ask --- what is the portion of manual setting SP level for in hfslipfc.ini? wouldn't this be the source for identifying SP as wrong, say cdtag is different from what was manually set?SOURCE may be empty when you run hfslipfc. Regarding KB936929-message (SP3): If hfslipfc shall run with the information that SP3 is included in SOURCE then KB936929 may not be included in HF (otherwise it's coming up with the wrong-message). If hfslipfc shall run with the information that SP3 is NOT included than KB936929 will be expected. Seems to be OK

That's already the way how I check the SP-level 2010-01-07 - Added: Checking if SOURCE is filled before try retreiving information from source - Added: KB944043 (v3) - Added: IE6-Prefix-handling (for users who mark the IE6-updates with a "IE6-"-prefix) If one IE6-Update has this prefix all other IE6-Updates must also have this prefix. - Fixed: removed the tab-character from kb944882-filename (inserted accidentally)

Thx for reporting this. It seems that KB905474 is available only in English. See here.Regarding this I would say I have define this independent from the language in the file-checker. But you have a Hungarian version. Where did you get this? Mimo
-
It's done! 2010-01-06 - Added: Checking files of already extracted DX9-Update - Added: Using hfslip to get the language from SOURCE, so normally "lang" (in INI) can always be empty. - Added: Obsolete entry "lang2" in the INI (lang2 removed from INI, old INI can still be used) CU, Mimo

New version: - Added: Checking if the WMP11 is extracted in HF\WMP11\ - Added: Checking dependencies of KB970430 and KB971737 (they need KB968389) - Added: WindowsXP-KB968389-x86.reg and WindowsXP-KB967715-x86.reg - Fixed: check for SP3 (KB936929) works now - Fixed: path of KB951618 was missing For checking if the WMP11 is already extracted I'm looking for the wmfdist11.exe in HF\WMP11. I think that's enough (and compatible for tommyp ). Mimo

it should work with polish. You have to define the language in the hfslipfc.ini.Are all updates reported as missing or just a specific one? Mimo

Hi! I'm sorry but the message
-
@Kiki Hi there, thx for testing & reporting this! I'll fix it. So far the only problem is when the filename is not UPHClean-Setup.msi (you're right, capitalization difference doesn't matter). I'll make a hint to the table 3. I have not really an idea how to check it automatically w/o writing a lot of code. But I think, when someone is using the extracted files she/he knows whats going on. But I will think about a solution. The next release contains it and also checking dependencies of KB970430 and KB971737 to KB968389. I removed table 9. Reporting missing updates make less sense because table 3 now contains more updates that my installation contains. Oh, I've forgotten to define the path of KB951618. THX!!! Bye, Mimo

@Tomalak Thx for you comment. I appreciate it!! The meaning of my statement was that table 2 should be taken completely (regarding installed components) if you want to get all security updates and recommendations what should be in everybody sense. Of course, table 2 has to be correct. That's critical. When you install a not-default-component later, this component has to include also the latest security updates. Otherwise you will install an older/unsecure version. In addition it's no disadvantage if you actualize files that already exist on the installation media. THX! Removed!!! THX! Now only for WMP9!!! IMHO to have all dlls (here the ftpsvc2.dll) with the latest sec updates is the most safest way. Yes. It's also a question for me. This Update installs the Adamdsa.dll 1.1.3790.4569. I think it can stay in the list. Of course, if no app will use MSXML4 it's not needed on the system. But I think it's good to have the latest version of MSXML4 instead of getting an older together with an installation (Installers normally do not install older dlls - hopefully ). That's also my opinion. This updates will contains the msadce.dll which already exists in Windows XP SP3. msadce.dll will updated from 2.81.1132.0 to 2.81.3002.0. Everybody has to decide about the coverage of autorun. I prefer also deactivate all (remember the Sony Rootkit). But probably I'm a little bit paranoid THX! Furthermore KB970430 and KB971737 needs the installed KB968389, not just the registry keys (what patch-info.de is writing). I've made hints to KB970430 and KB971737. CU, Mimo

KB932716 added KB949269 (MS08-035) replaced by KB970437 (MS09-018) which also is replaced by KB973039 (MS09-066). --> added remove-infos to filechecker KB951618 --> to do KB953979 obsolete when SP3 already included in installation, added remove-info KB955417 --> to do THX, Mimo

Isn't it easier to put it to HFSVCPACK_SW1 instead of renaming it? Or is the result "better" when it's in HF? When you put this update to HFSVCPACK_SW1 it's installed in T-13. When you put it to HF and rename it, it'll be slipstreamed directly as the most of updates. OK, HF sounds better! I'll notice it on the list.

Sounds good. Next release. Isn't it easier to put it to HFSVCPACK_SW1 instead of renaming it? Or is the result "better" when it's in HF? THX! Added!

So far I would prefer that you use your INI to copy&paste the line from the hfslipfc.cmd (containing UPHClean-Setup.msi) to the INI and replace the O by a R (to make it obsolete). Than you add a new line containing uphclean-setup-x86-2-0-48.msi (all in the WIN-section).Regards, Mimo

I've added KB958655-v2 and KB961118.KB915865 was fixed. THX, Mimo

Thx for the info. Yes. The content of table 2 (Security updates) should be mandatory but the optional things are also a result of members here. But I also DO NOT include all of the the optional things. And I don't have the time to check all of them. I really need just these infos here (e.g. to XMLlite)!Mimo

I don't use it. I found that info on the list from tommyp which is now maintained by MH.Regards, Mimo
-
Oh, thx for that Info! Hmm... I found this info on the list which is now maintained by MH. And I think I have something in mind that tommyp has written something about that (but I'm not sure). Regards, Mimo

I thought that several of the unknown items were supposed to be taken care of in this latest version. Also, all 3 of the files that are flagged as obsolete are still listed in Table 2 as required, and in fact, the file your program lists as the appropriate replacement for KB969898, ie KB973346, is listed in Table 7 as being replaced itself by KB973525. I also noticed that Kiki Burgh is having problems with WindowsXP-KB968930-x86-ENG.exe in the post above. I assume I will, too, since I'm trying basically the same setup. Any idea what's going on? Please don't misunderstand in any way. I think that this program and your list are absolutely GREAT and you do a fantastic job keeping it up to date and being responsive to anyone with a problem. I can see this program evolving into something along the lines of Autopatcher, or using a download mechanism similar to what's used in this tool, where you would check off the various options you want included, IE8, WMP11, etc, and it goes off and downloads all the current updates that HFSLIP needs and puts them in the correct folder for you, if you don't have them there already, and then it gives you the option of going ahead and running HFSLIP, or not - if you want to change anything. Anyway, I can dream. Looking forward to your reply. Cheers and Regards. Hi, the listet "unknowns" shall de fixed in the next release. Regarding MSXML-updates I have the list corrected KB968930: no sorry, no idea. I don't tried it. Mimo

kb890830 is now included. KB909520 - I don't know the folder. --- i put it in HF KB917275 is now included WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe is now included KB898461 is now included KB905474 is now included KB915865 - I don't know the folder. --- i placed it in HF KB936929 fixed LegitCheckControl.cab included now MUAuth.cab included now muweb_site.cab included now wsusscn2.cab - for what do you want to include this??? --- saw this from your list as a "to do" in table 8; just thought i'd try it out wuweb_site.cab included now WindowsXP_KB968389_x86 solution has to come --- this is the 1 that requires the .reg file SmartCard_XP_x86.exe - I don't know the folder. --- for me, it's in HFSVCPACK_SW1 comments (text colored differently) inserted within the quote ... i suppose for contents in HFCABS, we must be sure to put updated files there (as there'd be no way for the script to look into each .cab's contents) ... thanks Mim0. btw, i have posted an inquiry about msxml6-KB954459-enu-x86 vs WindowsXP-KB954459-x86-ENU *** in another post ... looking forward to your feedback about it too For KB961742-v3.exe I added HF in the folder column KB909520 added KB915865 added Use the mechanism to add own files to be checked (outside of hfslipfc.cmd). how-to follows with the next release. SmartCard_XP_x86.exe added msxml6-KB954459-enu-x86 is for XP with SP2, WindowsXP-KB954459-x86-ENU is for XP with SP3 regards, Mimo

With the next release you can ignore updates in the IGNORE table of the INI. Then this file will not be listed as missing. Regards, Mimo
-
These are still showing as unknown using the latest list and File Checker. I've added options for Windows Update and Microsoft Update to the INI. Plz check next release. Cheers and Regards. When you confirm that HF is the right place, I will add it to the list. Best wishes also to you! Mimo

THX for your support. But now I'm checking it directly from batch: Filename and filesize - that should work!!! This version of hfslipfc is available in short. If this method runs in problems I can extract filever.exe from support-tools (CAB, if available in SOURCE), and use it to get the version of the file. I would like to make it without any external apps. Regards, Mimo
