How To Modify Right-clicked Mouse Button Menu?
Rick replied to lucas4394's topic in General Discussion
Actually, I didn't read my answer very well because that only shows you how to remove the items under "New" on the right click menu. Go to this website for a great guide on doing anything you want to the right click menu including taking out the unwanted options. Customizing Right-Click Menu Options in Windows This worked for me because I realized I had some of those options that I wanted gone. Let us know if you need more help Rick -

While he may have come here just for that, we have a section like this so that people can tell about their forums. We are not in competition with anybody but we simply want to do the best job we can do in order to offer the community a great tech site to come to. When the mods and admin think of who we want to compete with, we compete with ourselves to make it better. Okay...that sounds like a bunch of happy bullcrap but I'm serious...there are millions upon millions of surfers out there and there are plenty tech boards to go around to fit the taste of each person. How To Modify Right-clicked Mouse Button Menu?
Rick replied to lucas4394's topic in General Discussion
this item from the windows registry guide may be of help to you: "Removing Item Types from the New Menu (All Versions) ===================================================== Category: Home > Windows > Desktop and Explorer When you right-click on your desktop or other selected applications there is a New sub-menu which contains a list a default templates. This list can be modified to include only the templates you want. Each template exists in the [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT] hive associated with a file extension. Whether it is visible or not in the New menu is controlled by whether the related entry has a sub-key called 'ShellNew'. For example on the New menu there is usually an entry for "Text Document". This is visible because of the key: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.txt\ShellNew] If you were to rename the key so it no longer had a sub-key called 'ShellNew' by changing it to [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.txt\ShellNewOld] it would disappear from the New menu. Open Regedit, and using the Find function (Ctrl+F) search for any values of 'ShellNew'. Several should be found under the [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT] hive, if you do not want them to be displayed rename 'ShellNew' to 'ShellNewOld'. Changes should take effect immediately. " There ya have it! While I do agree that making an OS that can handle everything is very difficult...but...but....they have a whole bunch of money...is that an underestimate? They have had years and lots of money to get this right and they are doing a pretty decent job but I believe that somebody can create an absolutely stable OS if M$ does not in the next 10 years. Rick

You can get a Realtek hub for about $15 (I'll make you convert it to "quids") and 50ft of cable for as low as $20. That's way under what you want to spend. If you choose to expand later on, you can always buy a router then.... Now...if you are running an internet connection from a cable modem, then you will need to buy a router that is capable of routing cable/dsl. That may cost you about $50 bucks. Rick

Thanks Sed...I always forget to put links.
