LITE ON have a good 40x writer for around £34. must be real cheap over USA/Canada. mine hasnt burned me a coaster yet, but my old £175 12X writer drive made plenty.

yeah shes a wuss LS hehe as for no more compaq proprietry systems THANK GOD! pity that doesent get rid of the ones at night school we have been messing with. im doing a PC maintenance OCR (internationally recognised apparently) certificate see.. so messing with old systems a lot.

lol my effort sux! that was ages ago. the logo will need to be portrait for the new site, like lezend has done here, not landscape like the current one, so that jigsaw one wont work anyway hmm animation wouldnt be a bad idea... eg the butterfly in my avatar if that was sat on the org flapping away that would look cool, as if it had landed there. be awkward to do tho.

ok lezend wins lol i like it, looks sweet, maybe the top bit all in the same font as the SF bit, is it Arial Black? thats the font ms use, the rest looks spot on im impressed try hit the orb bit with a glass effect or something... see how that looks, just an idea. we need to sort out our plans, which i wont go into here. but those of you who know.. know rather not go into it.. incase it doesent all happen. but that logo would look impressive up there on the top of the page thats for sure! not sure when it will either as i gave up my job last week

the problem with DDR is its expensive, i have two sticks of Crucial Tech' 256MB DDR pc2700 in here. yes its fast. but its damned expensive. this cost me £74 each stick from Crucial, and they dont do it in 512mb sticks (or didnt last i checked) as it becomes unstable apparently in sticks that big. so just for my 512mb of ram, bought directly from crucial (prompt delivery, well packaged i might add) it cost me £148 that must be about.. what $280 USD ? or around that price. Also, check WHAT DDR that board supports, if it supports DDR and SDRAM i doubt it will run Pc2700 (DDR333) but will run the slower stuff.

no thats not how i imagined LS at all. thats a suprise! thats a compaq machine there i see.... if i have to work on another proprietry compaq again ill go mad lol

end of the day a 56x cd rom drive is what... $25 ?? maybe cheaper? you can pick a DVD rom drive up for around ten bux more... look at LITE ON's for starters. everyone can build a pc its easy, you might save yourself 100's, spend the same cash, or slightly more, but you will end up with quality parts, no OEM junk in there, you should see some of these "geforce 4" cards in some systems, you would swear blind it was a TNT card or something, almost always with no fan - how can it be a top notch graphics card if it has no fan even?? if i ran my geforce without a fan for any length of time while playing a game id be lucky if it didnt get damaged or freeze the system up. come on build one, you have net access so its EASY to find cheap bits, and you can post piccies here after and claim your bragging rights

Drew- that would depend on the walls and also, line of site would suggest that the transmitter isnt omnidirectional. geforce... sorry bud no experiance, i did say read up on it, could have saved you some cash for equipment and also you would have an idea on what to do. Banetrrp is the wireless networker round here. but for starters... take the router out of the equiation for now, it will just complicate matters (as routers always do lol)

put it back in the old machine and remove passwords from acounts. on that machine login as administrator account (press CTRL ALT DEL on login screen and hold them for a bit) and try what koala suggested on your old pc instead.

msnwar: kazaa and morph both are getting it, both networks suck, your ip can be traced when using it also, you wont be the first to get an email from their isp after RIAA have got in touch with them. this past week, after much bugging by EL1TE i installed Emule it uses the edonkey / overnet et all network. man what a joy this app is!!! its MILES faster than either overnet or edonkey, as usual you can import your temp directory into it as its based on the same code, so you can carry your downloads on in emule. (dont run two edonkey network clients at the same time tho!) i have been maxing out my connection on it since installing it. you heard me, 130KB/sec down, do that on edonkey!! check it out! you will need to get some server ips to set you off, i suggest checking www.sharereactor.com for a link to server addresses on the main page, left side.
