I personally use windows because for me theres no vialble alternatives. i hate macs, awfull things. i like linux but it is too much hard work sometimes, eg, ill use one distro but it wont play movies no matter what i do, but another distro will, but have no sound, etc etc, the common issues people have with it. Also i love my games, no way could i cope without the new releases of games that come out for windows. a rival OS would have to resolve these issues to make me swap, and i would drop MS in a heart beat. what (even if you like windows) would a rival OS have to offer to make you swap over?

gamehead, if you live in sweden you could already download at that speed for not much money either, compared to other places offering that speed. we have a server that can upload at 1gb/ps. thats 1 GIGA BYTE PER SECOND. the fastest speed record to date is 1.5 terrabyte per second over a distance of 2km. it was posted in news some time ago. i think 50mb/ps is underrating the telecoms and internet industry, as well as consumers demands! I WANT I WANT! heh @Rick, computers by thought, they do that at Reading university. Also lots of labs do it using monkeys, selecting colored blocks etc. some disabled people have helped trial the system so that it can be developed primarily for them (and no doubt military use) eventually expect software and hardware companies to invent reasons why able bodied non combatants might want to spend lots of cash on it too.

we will be using quatumn computers before you know it. id expect first fibre optics, then quantum machines and hybrids to appear within the next 5 - 10 years, speed then really wont be much of an issue, wonder what intel and amd will do then to convince us to buy?

i mean, we cant carry on forever making faster and faster chips, doubling the speed every 18 months. obviously silicon has its limits, but when do you recon we will all get bored of it? when computers are semi intelligent and stuff like something out of startrek, computers for the home will be doing most of the household chores, ordering food, turning lights on/off. recording tv shows, infact there wont be a tv, just a large flatscreen display or ten around your house. but once we get to speeds like 500Ghz sureley we wont need any faster? unless we start using them for holographic environments etc (ahh gaming would kick a**!) imagine Battlefield 1942 holodeck style heh

i hope this game is good online as it looks, and i hope we can all play on our own servers etc, it would be a cool game to play. The board staff needs SOMETHING to do at weekends hehe

maybe, and i havent checked over your spec yet, its to do with where you plugged it in, does your board have some feature for fan control? or the fan itself? it sounds like its supposed to do that in that case! try plug the cpu fan into a different fan point. or take the sensor wire out that might do it, the sensor wire is usually blue or white, so long as red and black wires are there it will run at its proper speed all the time.

i was waiting for the gixer boy to post i like the SV, mind you when "fully dressed" the new style fairings on gixers (in classic blue and white) are **** sexeh. i prefer the bike without a fairing tho, and gixers without fairings are just old tat now an SV650 brand new will set you back about £6500 i think, been a while since i looked, have fun finding one in yellow, they are like rocking horse s*** stolen?? bike theives need stringing up from trees by their intestines and leaving to rot! @MSNWar, i had to sell it as i have no garage here, and ive had a bike stolen in the past (it was recovered, but was only worth scrapping) i dont think the sv would last more than a few days outside here before it ended up in someones van. and it was brand new... it needs keeping indoors not out in the rain etc.

install both and see which your prefer. just have XP on first, then partition your disk and install 2k second. i can partition it for you via remote if you want, just install XP on your own. still want a quote off me dazz?

heh. erm.. you still have the admin tool tho right? if you cant find it, right click on my computer > Manage. you sould have it there.

well, hmm i seem to remember this being talked about before. your folder permissions and settings in computer management might be able to fix it. open START. right click on it and go to properties > customise. make admin tools show in start menu. in admin tools go to local security policy/local policies/ im guessing it will be in user rights assignment or security options, but dont alter anything yet, im only having a guess here. Have a look and see if you see anything unusual.. im looking at my settings now to see if i can see where it will be. Everyone should have a play around in here anyway, theres some real usefull settings, For eg: making it so you need to login to the pc to shut it down, handy if you have a mail/web/ftp server in an office and dont want people turning it off or altering the settings. etc.
