Alright ... Guys. I need help checking out what the crap is wrong ... I've extracted the GOOD svcpack.inf and BAD svcpack.inf . I've also put the GOOD lastsession and BAD lastsession into the attachment below. The RVMi log is GOOD for BOTH the sessions. Can someone please help check these out for me? Thanks a lot ... It helps me very much. And I really appreciate it. (I've tried comparing the entries with notepad++, but ... I dunno what to do with them. So, remember, something below AWC-281.exe entry in svcpack.inf of BAD is causing a longer install.) I've attached a .7z file below. Does anyone require a different extension/ compression? Update:: Just installed disk on VirtualBox --> Everything okay. So if it was a themes problem, solved by integrating with RVMi. Now ... To create a full disk with nLite ... I'll be doing integration of driver and add-ons and removing and tweaking. Wish me luck !! EDIT:: Now testing fully nLited disk with edits and removes and drivers and such. Wish me luck ... !!

Those are johndoe74's add-ons. He has made nearly all my add-ons . I don't believe they are causing the problem, since he tests them on a virtual machine. EDIT:: Note: nearly all of johndoe74's add-ons don't have add-on on the name. What I am doing now: Using RVMi to integrate themes. And then, I will make a .iso and test. That means I haven't removed components, added drivers, or anything like that yet. I will do that after, and then make .iso (and that should check whether or not the themes were causing the problem). Doesn't work, will use the *;* for SVCPACK.inf entries, like you suggested, 5eraph .

Yeah ... I redid the disk today, and I'm testing it. This time, I used Driverpacks instead. Unfortunately, it seems that it wasn't the source of the problem. Right now, I know for a fact that the install went past or is at Advanced WindowsCare (saw the pop-up). And afterwards, I noted that there was no activity for hard drive or disk drive. I'll wait another 30 minutes ... Until I deem this another failure ... (Still stuck at 13 min mark, the part where add-ons are installed.) Can anyone help? I dunno what's wrong .... @newsposter: I gave the virtual machine 256 MB of RAM. Yeah, I think there is something else wrong ... **Perhaps I should integrate themes with RVMi? Yeah ... ummm it's been over 30 minutes now, and VirtualBox is showing no signs of *life*. Perhaps you're right boooggy? Maybe Drivermax driver backups aren't compatible with nLite integration? (Anyone know for sure?) As least DriverMax can easily import these drivers back (all I need to do is backup them into a flash drive or cd ). Might there still be a second opinion? Anyone? Yeah ... Well, I think I'm gonna halt the thing now. Wish me luck next time !!

Hmm Drivers ... Well, all I did for the drivers was to use Drivermax to export, and then use nLite to integrate (so basically that means these are all the driver that I need for my specific machine). Anyway ... I guess I can correct this by just doing a Driver-import feature with Drivermax in a nLited install . When do Drivers get integrated ? Before or after programs/ hotfixes? (I think I remember Drivermax dialogue poping up also, so that means it did get further than SpyTerminator.) Can I get a second opinion? It's just really annoying to have to redo all these things again ....

sfc is the System File Checker (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_File_Checker ) for Windows OSs. Basically, it **protects and restores** (from what I understand) from any changes that Windows perceives as harmful/ not "native" (not in default install). So as XPize patches, sfc might go crazy since its changing a bunch of default things. I believe uxtheme.dll is not patched by default because it is the users choice/ its an extra/ the file changes with every service pack. (Right not, XPize 4.7's uxtheme.dll is outdated for SP3. DO NOT USE IT for service pack 3 installs.) **Say, on a side note, is there anything to gain from patching a WinXP install with 4.7b and then Darkside? 4.7 has small modifications to some resources. Is it even possible to do it? (I've tried with XPize 4.7b and Darkside over it, and maybe I'm just stupid, since it errors on shell32.dll patching .)

And, also remember that you can perhaps still contribute to XPize 5.0 by developing **add-on packs** (from what I understand, similar to nLite's style) for your Darkside (or more) once the architecture and the program is finalized. Just keep an open mind to the possibilities .

In other words, Poolsharkzz, we can talk about this in a future release (and for a possible position perhaps). Right now, we have to get the new code base, and stick to the original **patch WinXP/ Vista icons** tasks. Features and others will be considered sometime later. Right now, I believe W3bbo (who's doing a lot of the new coding) is really, really busy. Give us some time to get things straight and organize everything. I look forward to the new releases, and I hope you will too .

prebenandre, Most likely, we will have it. It is one of the biggest features of the original architecture. BUT !! I can't speak for everyone on the team. W3bbo is the project lead and will be programming the crux of the new architecture. Many others will be able to add packs (again, nothing's set in stone here) and have swappable themes and styles into it. I am not completely sure how the new architecture (built on C#) will translate into slipstreaming. But, if it isn't in the first new 5.0 (alpha/ beta), we might/ will be looking to add it into the future. First is first:: Get the program set, architecture written, and have it's ability to patch the OS perfect to near 4.x effect or greater. After, we will add features and stuff that will make XPize's/ Vize's capabilities expanded. Right now, just be patient. The program will be worked on, no doubt about that .

On the KDE thing: --KDE is only a visual style for windows (like how Windows XP has classic and Luna), or at least, close to something like it. As far as I know, all you need to do is download a LINUX distribution, install KDE, and your set. I personally use VirtualBox and I quite like it. Of course, you can try others. However, I think VirtualPC MAY or MAY NOT have problems running Linux distros. Good luck, and remember to report back !!

(What was that problem with the F6 and blue screen? I didn't understand that.) And so, you wish to integrate the RAID driver as textmode, is that correct? But you aren't able to get the necessary prompting for it? Questions: Were you able to get the textmode prompt originally? As in, before you attempted a nLited disk again? What version of nLite are you using? Did you follow the steps to integrate textmode drivers properly? Yes, I second Kel. Stone-D, these forums (and others like it) do not support anything that is associated with warez and illegal material. If you do in fact own legit copies of XP, please use that source rather than the illegal one. In fact, the illegal XP you are using is very likely causing the problems that you are experiencing. If you don't own legit copies of XP, go out there and buy some copies of the OEM or Retail. Your disclaimer is meaningless since you are in fact using illegal software. Owning a copy and still using the illegal one does not justify your use of the illegitament software. Ask for help with legit XP sources. I'm afraid you won't get any if you continuing using the Pirated software.
