  1. Start from scratch, best thing to do. (Old version left a messed up nliteos.cmd file. New version didn't correct the messed up version. --> Start from scratch = fresh new, fixed nliteos.cmd file.)
  2. ~~Now that sounded a bit mean/ judgmental ... I was actually just trying to help (no, like, really) when no one was getting back to you ... I was even hoping for you to get back to us sooner (I checked back at this thread soo many times during work today; yeah, I was part bored, part waiting) . Alright, now seriously, I have no clue what's wrong (never did in the beginning). I was only trying to get you some steps to solve the problem, as in I was trying to get the problem not to appear at all by doing a new install/ iso. (You didn't say whether you used a new source or old source for this, so I'm hoping you used a new source, fresh from the disk.) What I suggest now: PM nuhi about this problem (hopefully he won't mind); he's the developer for the program. OR wait for more experienced users to get back to you. --About the workgroup issue: since you didn't put one in the unattended sets, it probably came out as blank for you (which is what happened, right ?) All you have to do is (when the prompt comes or in nLite) put in the default: "MSHOME" for Windows XP (its MSHOME without the "") --> no need for domain, workgroup should do just fine. That is unless you have some Vista machines, if so, check out this page: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx --> Tells about printer sharing and MSHOME versus WORKGROUP . --And whether or not the new nLite version solved the problem or not; yeah, it was worth the try ... Well ... I guess now all you can do is wait for more experienced users to get back to you. Sorry I wasn't much of a help ... P.S.-- I do hope that you did in fact start all over again, with copying fresh XP files and stuff. If not, do that. **VirtualBox is great, right? Yeah, it had the same --Wow-- effect on me too . At least now you are able to test stuff/ play around with Virtual OSes now, right ... ?
  3. emailaya, please download VirtualBox from here: http://www.virtualbox.org/ . Read around, get familiar with it, etc. etc. The package is 'bout 30 MBs, bear with downloading it . Afterwards, make a new nLite iso with the latest nLite version (current 1.48). Install VirtualBox, give some free hard drive space to it (recommended 5-10 GB, depending on your install) and mount the iso onto the new Virtual Disk. (Fairly easy to do, read instructions and follow prompts.) Now, I really hope you have at least 2.0 GHz (or close) + 1 GB RAM (or more) and 'bout 5-10 GB of free hard drive space ... Before you start virtualization, I suggest you get off the internet + temporarily turn off security apps (to free resources/ RAM) + shut down uneccessary apps + etc. etc. Now, Virtualize and try not to do anything else outside the machine (I suggest you keep the VirtualBox warnings up so you absolutly know what you're doing). Have fun !! And remember to post back with an update !!
  4. I think no one responded because they don't know what to do ... Well, I think you should try to make another .iso and test it out this time (with a virtual machine). I dunno, have you tried that?
  5. update: FreshDiagnose 7.88 http://www.freshdevices.com/downfiles.html ~~I suggest you wait a bit (maybe until Wednesday or Thursday) to update because a new version of these programs come out almost monthly . Just giving you a heads up !!
  6. Thanks for the reply !! That completely simplifies my work !!
  7. Heya guys !! I'm just wondering if I am able to slipstream the original XPize and then follow up with XPize Darkside? I'm doing this because I wish to have everything in the packs, but if Darkside has the contents of XPize, is this necessary? Am I even able to do this at all? Right now, I think the best way for me to slipstream the XPize packs would be to use the method described here: http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t97530.html . What do you guys think?
  8. Heya guys !! Can anyone create an add-on for IObit's Advanced WindowsCare Personal? Download page: http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html I've seen another add-on source: http://www.eng2ita.net/forum/index.php?topic=4178.0 , but that one didn't really work out for me () ... I would really appreciate it if somehow the add-on had the advertisement removed !! Thanks guys !! I really, really appreciate it !!!!
  9. Thanks for the reply, johndoe74 . I've integrated n7Epsilon's add-on instead, and the problem went away (installer did not appear). Now, I'm running into the same problem with Yza_K's Advanced WindowsCare 2.8.1.885 ( http://www.eng2ita.net/forum/index.php?topic=4178.0 ). I've read something (translated from Google translator, http://translate.google.com/translate?u=ht...l=en&tl=en) about how: The answer was: So what does this mean? Right now, I again stuck with VirtualBox at the registering components stage for approx 30 minutes before turning it off. Perhaps I shouldn't integrate these add-ons? Anyone have a clue what the heck's going on ?? johndoe74, can you perhaps make an Advanced WindowsCare Personal add-on for me ? PS-- I should also try not virtualizing with only 5 GB of space on my 20 GB HD. (The entire reason for me using nLite anyway is to reinstall XP on my current disk and my new HD.) Should I just reinstall XP with only XP nLited and then make another disk with add-ons integrated? What do you guys think? Thank you guys very much. Anyway have a clue why my install is just stopping like that?
  10. FASTEST way to integrate your drivers into nLite: --Download DriverMax :: http://www.drivermax.com/index.htm --Use DriverMax and perform a driver back (remember to read what the text and select your drivers) --> send it to a folder (perhaps in the desktop) --Direct nLite to that folder (the one in the desktop, not the folders inside) + select the drivers you wish to backup. **Remember to post back if anything funny happens. Test your CD and report back, since I think nLite does have funny RAID tweaking. Yes, you can remove IE7 + WMP + Outlook + Messenger; take a peek- http://www.nliteos.com/guide/part1.html On --Remove Components-- section, select the stuff you wish to get rid of. Be aware that removing some things may also break Windows. So just be careful and remember to report back.
  11. Yeah, I don't think you can continue on with the program. The message only comes up when nLite detects that a session did not finish. It's only trying to be smart and safe with the data (so you don't have a messed up Windows). Best thing: do it again.
  12. johndoe74, I think there is something wrong with this add-on. During my virtualization test, the Trillian installer pops-up and I have to select settings. The program even got to load, and I think that halted my installation. So, right now, the virtual machine is not running (still stuck at registering components), and the Trillian program perhaps messed it up. johndoe74, do you think you can check out what's wrong? I really wish to have this program preinstalled. But if it's a no-go, please tell me. I think now I have to redo my nLite disk () ... Please give an update ASAP !! EDIT:: Check out this thread (though outdated): http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?...hlight=trillian --> n7Epsilon seems to have found some complicated things with the installer. Does your add-on compensate for them? Also --> http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?...hlight=trillian
  13. Erm ... TranceEnergy, I'm only a coordinator of (the next) XPize. I actually dunno when the Software Developer tag was added to my account (I think it was just last week), and I think its just a tag. Don't worry; I won't be programming anything. I'm just organizing the stuff, that's all . (I'm helping out with the next XPize version.)
  14. Ah, I do not recall removing the --Manual Upgrade and Removal-- option. Thus, I believe it to still be there. (I think I only removed MS XML 2.0.) So, I'm good so far, right? I believe I should go for the DVD disk route (since it can take in more data and I need to slipstream Office 2003 SP3 into it anyway ). You recommended ImgBurn, but will CDBurnerXP work as well? If all else fails, I will look into install from a USB. Thus, all I need to do now, is to install my DVD Drive, get some media, and burn the .iso image onto disk, correct? Thanks a lot, guys !! EDIT:: Ahh, just took a look at ImgBurn, and the program looks amazing and simple. I guess I'll keep CDBurnerXP for copying data and stuff, and I'll use ImgBurn for image files onto disks. Alright, I'll try it out !! (Only dilemma now is to uninstall a lot of programs to make room of ISO and virtualization testing ... Wish me luck )
  15. Ah, thanks. I've made my edits, and hopefully, nLite didn't rewrite/ overwrite my settings. I double checked, and it seems all correct. Now, the only thing left is to test it.
  16. Heya guys !! Well, I have been successful in making a nLite .iso that way I like it. Now, I just have a little dilemma... My nLite .iso is a little more than 750 MB ... Most CD media is 700 MB ... Now, that means I can't boot off from a CD, unless I get 800 MB media. Unfortunately, I've read that some drive aren't compatible with these media. So, my other options would be to make bootable USB or DVD media. ----Which is the better choice? Will I have to install extra drivers for a DVD drive (I have a new one that I am planning to install soon). ----Can you tell me how I can make them bootable? For DVD, I'm assuming that I just need to burn the .iso onto the media. Can I do this with CDBurnerXP ? ----How does booting from a USB sound? This is pretty urgent because I am running low on Hard Drive space (I have a 20 GB drive; yeah, I know) ... The entire reason for me using nLite is to reinstall XP, and the nLite files + VirtualBox is taking about 7+ GB. I'm planning to reinstall XP onto this drive, and then install my new 320 Hard Drive to take the old drive's place. Wish me luck !! Thanks a lot guys !! Just remember to explain the steps to me as clearly as possible (I want to get everything right) !!
  17. Alright, so ... Let me get this clearly ... --Create $OEM$ folder in root of SOURCE ----In the $OEM$ folder, follow http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/18/ + http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/76/ in adding non-default XP stuff (like my wallpaper and theme) with the $$\ and under folders --DO NOT forget to place winnt.sif file into i386 folder:: OemPreinstall=Yes [Shell] CustomDefaultThemeFile = "%WinDir%\Resources\Themes\MyTheme.theme" Is this, in essence, what I need to put into my winnt.sif ?
  18. EDIT:: Yay !! It worked !! Read my edited first post !! Now I'll move onto testing ... Wish me luck !! -------------------------- Argh, error occurred again... This time, I tried to use RVMi as little as possible (update pack + system file patches only)::
  19. Alright, thanks. So, let me get this procedure: --Do everything you need with source. --Create $OEM$ folder in the root of the source (the first layer of stuff, right?) ------In the $OEM$ folder, make another folder, $$ ----------Finally, in that folder, add whatever wallpapers I have. **Then, so set it as default, I would need to use a registry tweak, is that correct? How does the tweak found in http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t78095.html look? **Also, how about integrating saved themes? I have an idea I want my wallpaper to go with. How is the method described in http://www.msfn.org/board/wallpaper-and-th...cd-t103429.html ? Please, describe these methods in more detail for me so I can follow them step for step. Thanks a lot guys !! EDIT:: Sorry, 0d14r3, I don't quite understand your method. Can you please elaborate? EDIT 2:: Found these pages: http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/18/ + http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/76/ . So, how do I integrate this via nLite or some other integrating software?
  20. Heya guys !! Well, nLite told me that if the sysoc error (I think it was a .dll or system file) was unexpected, I should post a nLite last session here: Well ... What happened? This was a new error I never experienced ... Might it have something to do with Windows SFC file protection? (When integrating XPize, I set it to disabled. Afterwards, I'm not able to change it anymore ....) Anyone know what's going on? PLLLEASSSEE don't tell me that I have to do another nLite install .... It's been like my 7th time, all failures .... But, luckily, it took me that long to prepare, I have a copy of that folder on disk .... So it can't be this bad this time, right? NOTE:: Error occurred in the middle of ThreatFire integration. Anyone know if it has anything to do?
  21. Heya guys !! Well ... In addition to doing my own nLite install, I wish to insert my own wallpapers into the source. I've found this thread: http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t78095.html Unfortunately, I do not understand much from it. I've done the registry edits, and I tested it. It works for my case. What I don't understand is how I can place the wallpaper into the source? Is it pre-nLite or post-nLite? Also, from what I can see, I need a GuiRunOnce script rather than integrating it with a registry add-on (like the one I'm trying to make). Can anyone help me here? EDIT:: Also read of how people replaced the Bliss.bmp file in i386 directory. However, I would like to keep that wallpaper. I've had nice memories with it. But, I like my default now more
  22. Uploaded .inf file of my registry tweaks. Can someone please help me create an add-on of these tweaks?
  23. My mistake, TanceEnergy. Here are the reasons: (from http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2274 ) I'll edit my posts accordingly. Are they, by any chance, compatible now? ...
  24. Alright, so last night, I gave it another go. I was pretty happy for the first 3 steps. Unfortunately, it didn't work out in the end and later today, I'll have to start again ... Here is my current prodecure: --nLite: copy WinXP SP2 Pro onto PC --nLite: slipstream XP SP3 onto the source --RVMi: slipstream update packs AND special patches from http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2274 Reason why I need RVMi: --nLite: integrate XPize via method described in here http://www.msfn.org/board/lofiversion/index.php/t97530.html --nLite: Remove components --use boooggy's WMP11 slipstreamer on source --nLite: integrate Internet Explorer 7 via OnePiece's Internet Explorer 7 True Addon with cosmetic pack AND integrate DriverMax backed-up drivers --nLite: integrate ALL OTHER ADD-ONs and select unattended + tweaks + options NOTE: This is my LAST step (before iso) AND it is where the error occurs most often My guess: something's wrong it an add-on. I dunno which ones, though ... Can anyone give me a hand here? Thanks a lot, guys. I really appreciate it !!
  25. Nope, error still occured: Happened while processing the WeatherPulse add-on. Anyone know why? -------Original Post (forgot to put this here to separate it ... Sorry, was very tired ) Heya, I'm wondering, since I was able to avoid this problem (after failing two more times today []) by: --Pausing/ stopping security programs (which I did) --Running a memory optimizer (which I did) --Stop activity (which I did, watching the nLite) --Not being online. Anything? So far, it has helped me .
