  1. simmek, are some of these the folders you are missing? ;# Directories # bildz crap DOCS film osorterat ronjas SUPPORT Tor Browser VALUEADD You EXPLICITLY asked nLite to delete these and it did. If you have a recent System Restore point before the deletion, the folders may be intact there. Be aware that your Desktop will be restored, so move any files you now have on your DT (and don't want lost or back leveled) before you attempt a restore. Enjoy, John.
  2. MagicAndre1981, thanks for an answer that is not all useful. Of course, I am aware that the injection of SP1 is not official. A number of people here and elsewhere have injected SP1 and, I suspect, would like a considered response to this concern. I would really appreciate answers to my original questions. Anyone? Thanks and enjoy, John.
  3. Using the MDL instructions, referenced in this thread, I injected SP1 RTM into W7 Ultimate x64. After installation, I ran the MS SUR (System Update Readiness Tool, KB947821-v10) and it produced a couple errors of corrupted files. These files are the ones modified in the MDL process to allow SP1 to be injected offline. When SUR runs it corrects any erorrs it finds, if possible. Therefore these files were changed back to the original SP1 versions. Is there a potential problem here? Should I run SUR or not? Windows Update now offers me the SUR update. Thanks and enjoy, John.
  4. zeus77, here's mine, but it is for x64 and cannot be used directly for 32 bit XP. There is also a Sticky above about what not to remove. Enjoy, John.
  5. Kurt_Aust, thanks much. I got three good links from your reply. I cannot find my Java problem in their DB. My certificate problem is strange in that it happens only when I do my unattended install. Running the same commands on my VM works fine. From the installer options link I discovered how to get a log file so I can track down the error better. I removed the IEXPLORER=1, ADDLOCAL=ALL, and /NoRestart. None are needed. I also found that the silent switch does not work as a capital S. I had searched quite a bit for the installable Chrome file with no luck, so I tried the Enterprise version you found. It does install, but will not accept my User Data folder having all my settings. It seems to recognize some (search engines, one home tab), but none of the others. I have some more work to do here. Thanks again for your help. Enjoy, John. EDIT: Can you give me one more link? I would like a link to the site where you found the Chrome installer and switches. Thanks. EDIT: I did my install on VM and got the Java install logs but no error. EDIT: I have manged to get Chrome to install and use my old settings. There is another stand alone installer (ChromeStandaloneSetup.exe) found here http://www.google.com/chrome/eula.html?standalone=1. The "Set Google Chrome as my default browser" box needs to be unchecked or a 80040909 install error will occur. No switches are needed to install it passively.
  6. Kurt_Aust, I see you have stuck with Java 6U22 for the 32 bit version due to an install error. I also am getting an error on my W7 x64 unattended install - revoked certificate. I checked the dates and they look good. I am not really sure which 6U23 installer I am getting the error on since I spool my output to a file. I just get a stop and a dialog. If I respond yes to continue, all completes fine. Are you getting the same error? BTW, I notice you added Mozilla to your parameters. Do I need to add Chrome since I am using it? Perhaps Mozilla or IE covers Chrome. Thanks for your help. Enjoy, John.
  7. hardrockRam, here is a Wiki on VPN. The site is DD-WRT, which offers firmware for various routers, so the Wiki is pointed toward their code, but it also provides links to other sites and articles. DD-WRT also has a great forum for getting answers on routers. Enjoy, John.
  8. knight_rider, it certainly should. When I install my W7 from an XP partition, as soon as W7 Setup restarts for the first time, it restarts into W7, not XP. All my application install, tweaks, etc are executed. In other words, XP is left behind, but in my case remains on its partition. I can then boot from either XP or W7 with W7 being the default. I can, of course, change the default. I assume you will have all the same actions and options. Please keep us informed. Enjoy, John.
  9. drixomanbeta, in general there is no case sensitivity. Perhaps you are not interested in nLite and AddOns but there is an AddOn maker (I have not used it), so you could use your localized IE8. Enjoy, John.
  10. drixomanbeta, I suggest you look into the nLite sub-forum below and consider an IE8 AddOn. Enjoy, John.
  11. knight_rider, I do installs of W7 from a separate partition running XP. If you have a running system on your machine, I think you should be able to run Setup from there. I think the DOS boot will also work. You did not post your Last Session.ini, so we cannot speculate as to problems you may have. Please let us know what you learn and if you have further questions attach your Last Session.ini. Enjoy, John. EDIT: I opened my Setup.exe (XP x64) in a hex editor and a comment in the file says it cannot be run in DOS mode, so this may well not work. Please let us know.
  12. jeanmichfr, these Java ones work for me - can't help with the others: jeanmichfr, celles-ci Java pour moi - ne peut pas aider les autres: Rem Java runtime environment %cdrom%\Install\jre-6u23-windows-i586.exe IEXPLORER=1 ADDLOCAL=ALL /s /NoRestart %cdrom%\Install\jre-6u23-windows-x64.exe /s /NoRestart Enjoy, John.
  13. biatche, are you saying that the integrated driver is not being used after you install your W7? Perhaps Windows is assuming that the one present in Windows Setup is more up to date than the 10-2 (I assumed you had a legacy card). Perhaps you can find the drivers already in the image and remove them. There is a DISM command for this, thus: Dism /Image:E:\Mount /Get-Drivers DISM /Remove-Driver /Image:E:\Mount /Driver:oem9.inf Also, Windows will not allow Aero to run unless your WEI (Windows Experience Index) is above a certain level. I don't remember the minimum index value, so do some searching. To see your index value, go to Properties on Computer and click on Windows Experience Index. I think you may be able to fake your WEI by going into F:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore and changing the values in the .xml files. Enjoy, John.
  14. biatche, I need to admit that I am just a hacker when it comes to scripts. It looks fine to me but your real test will come when you install on HW. I am skeptical of the $_OUTDIR created when I use 7-Zip to extract the DLed drivers, so I use the technique of canceling an install (on my VM) after extraction and capturing the files. The fact that DISM accepted the driver is a great indication. ricktendo64, I do not use /forceunsigned and have no problem and don't think biatche should need it. Here's a link to the original solving of this problem. Enjoy, John.
  15. biatche and ricktendo64, the drivers are a problem in DISM, but I have been able to accomplish it. AMD has chosen a compression that DISM does not like. In the driver is a folder named B109234 (10-12) or something like Bxxxxxxxx. It contains 54 files (10-4) most of which are compressed into xxx.yy_. If these are extracted with the Expand command the file name remains xxx.yy_. DISM errors out on missing files. I used 7-Zip (need the latest version, 9-20) and it works fine. Just replacing the the compressed with the 7-Zip extracted files allows DISM to run and the driver to install fine. I am currently using 10-4 but will install 10-12 soon as I had a mouse pointer problem that my be a driver problem. For this run I re-compressed the files using MakeCab but have not tried DISM on them yet. Hope this helps. Enjoy, John.
  16. jeanmichfr, welcome, here is the link posted in the WPI sub-forum below. It will DL the needed information. Enjoy, John.jeanmichfr, bienvenue, est ici le lien a écrit dans le sous-WPI forum ci-dessous. Il DL les informations nécessaires. Profitez, John. <--------------Google Translate.
  17. biatche, on the AMD site you can DL (Down Load) the complete Catalyst, the Driver only or CCC (Catalyst Control Center) only. DLed.exe is DLed .exe (blank after DLed), DLed (Downloaded) .exe file (CCC, Driver or all). I cannot answer some of your questions because I have not tried them. I am telling you what I use that works for me. I inject the drivers (DISM or nLite) so that my monitor has a current driver as soon as Windows is installed. I assume if you try to install CCC and there is no Catalyst driver, the install will fail. I do not know, however, what ,if any, Catalyst driver is included in the Windows (version?) for installation. Your list of files/folders looks like my extracted CCC, but I cannot know that is so. You might try the -INSTALL switch on the Setup.exe and see if it works. YES.I have not seen the switches you are using, so I cannot comment. Enjoy, John.
  18. biatche, I use this for CCC, after extracting the CCC only DL (run DLed .exe, then cancel after extraction and copy files from the ATI folder). The driver I inject using DISM in W7 and nLite in XP. SetUp.exe -INSTALL Enjoy, John.
  19. East 17, it does look like you have a 32/64 problem. Without your Last Session.ini we can only guess what is going on. Please attach your Last Session.ini as requested in LARGE BOLD RED LETTERS above. Enjoy, John.
  20. Ponch, something wrong with your link - search error. Enjoy, John.

    Bootable ISO

LAndr, welcome. It is the original CD. You simply used nLite to burn the original CD data into an ISO and then a CD. It had better behave exactly as the original CD. What do you mean by Live CD? Enjoy, John.
  22. milos95zr, thanks for an excellent title. I don't know where all your files in the Hot Fix section came from, but they do not look valid. Files such as .exe cannot be place here. NLite has an Option to set the Uxtheme hack, so you do not need that one at all. I suggest you simply remove all Hot Fixes and see if it woks better. The best way to test is to use a virtual system. VirtualPC, VirtualBox and VMware Player are all free. You did not answer my question about running nLite more than once. You should always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and run nLite only once doing all your work. I am wondering about your Service Pack integration. You should integrate only SP3, no matter what your CD contains. It looks like you have included SP2. And to your source - what do you mean you got it from a friend? Is it a legal copy of Windows with a valid key? Has it been installed on another PC and is it OEM or Retail? Has nLite or any other program been run against it before? Enjoy, John.
  23. milos95zr, welcome. First, please edit your first post and change the title to something meaningful as required by the forum rules. Also please attach your Last Session.ini as requested in BIG BOLD RED LETTERS above. Without it we can only guess. Have you modified any files after running nLite? Where did your source come from? Did you run nLite more than once against the same source? Enjoy, John.
