domeShot, 10 GB HDD should be way more than enough. What is the size of your ISO? Did you start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders and run nLite only once? There are loads of hits on Google and here on the lsass.exe error. Please do some looking at them. Some seem to think it is an update causing the problem. As a test, remove all your updates and build a quick ISO and try it. Please let us know. Enjoy, John.

domeShot, I also use 512MB RAM in VMware Server, so this should be plenty. What size virtual HDD do you have? I use 8-10 GB. Have you responded to -X-'s reply concerning the correct updates? I run XP x64, so am not familiar with XP updates, but have you considered an UpdatePack? At this time, I don't think you have an update problem but maybe your virtual HDD is too small. Please let us know. Enjoy, John.

domeShot, sounds like you are getting a BSOD and automatic restart. If you can, during boot push F8 and go into Safe Mode. If you are successful, then Right click My Computer-Properties-Advanced tab-Startup and Recovery-Settings and uncheck Automatically Restart, then reboot. Your system should now stop on the BSOD. Please post the stop code and relevant data. Enjoy, John.

mo4sa66, we can not understand what your are saying. If English is not your original language, then please reply in your language and we will try to translate and help you. Enjoy, John.

mo4sa66, great, John.
-
mo4sa66, I don't have a clue what you are asking. Are you using nLite? Are you talking about the RunOnce exit in the Unattended section? Enjoy, John.

jervatron, did you see the red message at the top? Without the Last Session we are hard pressed to guess. However, my guess is that you did not include a text mode driver for your SATA/RAID HDD. Enjoy, John

horrormaster, according to this article (found via Google), you may not have a valid and legal copy of Windows. Where did you get your copy of Windows? Have you tried installing the original CD? I, too, am running XP x64 and searched my folders. I have the two files in my original CD folder but not on my nLited folder. You and I must have removed something that removed these files. Please search you original CD folder and your nLited folder for the files. I will continue to look at yours and my Last Session to see what component you removed that might be causing the problem. Please look also, I attach my Last Session. BTW, welcome and thanks for your Last Session. Enjoy, John. EDIT: I see that we both removed Multifunctional in the Drivers section. This does not look like a good candidate. What you can do is place the names of the two files in the KeepFiles section. Go to the Components Task and click the Advanced button at the bottom. You also can use the Google article I pointed to above to place the two files in your folder and register them, thus avoiding a rebuild. The files on your original CD are compressed into slbcsp.DL_ and sccbase.DL_. Just get a copy from the original CD, extract (expand) them and follow the instructions in the Google article (or many others).

mllrtim, I think you are in the correct forum, welcome, but have not seen any error like this before. If you will post a screen shot of some of your errors, we'll take a look. Also look in your System Log. I know little about Vista, but I just had a problem I tracked down to CD errors. I had manually copied (copy/paste) my CD contents into a folder. All seemed fine but the ISO I built was bad. The System Log had several errors of "Bad block on CDROM" (essentially). I have always used a manual copy to get my Windows contents into a folder on my HDD. Some here do not recommend it, but I think if you make sure that your Folder Options (Control Panel-Folder Options-View tab), shows all Hidden and System files, you will be OK. I am told that MS has a tool you run on your old machine which will tell you what is needed to install W7, including drivers. Please let us know how you make out. Enjoy, John.

nerdistmonk, I would suggest you start my dropping KB955704, you can add it after install. Enjoy, John.
-
nerdistmonk, thanks for the Last Session. First, please check the Hash codes for your 1.4.9.1. installer. Below are the codes from mine - the MD5 is the same as posted on the nLite wed site. IF your's disagrees or you do not have the installer, please remove your installed nLite, DL and install a new one (from nLite, check MD5). Please tell me what the Userenv is. Are you getting any errors during running nLite or install? If so, please post screen shots. I have not used 5eraph's Update Pack but I do use his IE8 AddOn and know he does good work. I am not familiar with KB955704 (exFAT) and do not know if it integrates properly with nLite. There are some updates that don't. I add several via Kurt_Aust's procedure I pointed to earlier. You only need to add SP2 even if your Windows is RTM. Run nLite only once, doing all your work, and always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders. I also remove tour and it is truly gone. Enjoy, John.

nerdistmonk, I have no experience/knowledge with/about IA64 or have I seen anyone here use it. Attached is my Last Session.ini. There is a lot of good information at the top (why I sugggest you attach yours). I also use Kurt_Aust's thread for hot fixes, etc. Enjoy, John.
-
nerdistmonk, my MSFN tag also says I'm on XP x64. The system I am using right now was build with nLite and works fine. It installs with no errors (on VMware Server and HW) except two DCOM errors (common to XP x64). These can be eliminated with KB899965, but it cannot be added soon enough to avoid the first two. Since we have not seen your Last Session.ini, we can only guess on what is going on (this is what I did in my first reply.) Enjoy, John.
-
nerdistmonk, if you are running nLite under W7 (x64?) to create an ISO for XP x64, that is probably your problem. Integrating an SP very likely will not work. If you are willing to try it without an SP, then run nLite.exe in XP Compatibility Mode and let us know if it works. Enjoy, John. EDIT: You could also run nLite under XP x64 in your VM.

v000, I don't think we can say - I certainly cannot - that nuhi has lost interest. Based on some of the "where's nuhi" threads, I would infer that he is very busy and has no time to give to nLite right now. Whether he will ever come back is unknown. I am not aware of the problems you refer to at the end of your last post. When strange things happen, my most suspect action is running nLite more than once against the same source folder. If you have specific problems/questions, please post them for us to look into the possible causes. From your response to my referenced thread, I assume command line running of nLite works OK, just trying to invoke it via your script is giving troubles. Since I got no response to my thread, I did a little of what I wanted to do using AutoIt and am happy with my process. Enjoy, John.
-
v000, I tried to get a feel for running nLite from a command prompt (see here) and got no response. I suspect very few run nLite this way. It looks like you are running nLite in a script. What is the %1 for in your Preset path? The bad news is that nuhi (author/owner) is on hiatus from nLite and he may be the only one who can comment. Have you tried it in a command prompt? Good luck, John.

RmW-Internet gateway device discovery and control client--
johnhc replied to chupacabra's topic in nLite
chupacabra, I am not sure what all you are up to, but you cannot just rename a compressed file to .XX_. You must create these CAB files using a command like makecab. Do a Help and Support on makecab. You use it in a command prompt against the file you want to compress. As long as you are compressing one file at a time, simply type 'makecab fileA.xyz' in a command prompt (without the 's). It will create a file called fileA.xy_ and you will be good to go. Enjoy, John. -
parannah, this is an nLite forum. There is a MS Software forum elsewhere in the MSFN forums. I run XP x64 and have never run SFC against it. I do my nLited install with SFC turned off, due to some modified DLLs, but turn it back on after install. I assume you are not using nLite since the License Agreement allows only private use and no business or commercial use. Sorry I cannot help you, but do try the more appropriate forum above. Enjoy, John.
-
parannah, well, for one, I have no idea what you are asking. Are you asking if you can integrate SP3, using nLite, and turn off (or not) System File Checking (SFC)? Enjoy, John.

Orion7, I agree with what GrofLuigi has to say, except I am not familiar with the components and their possible effect on your problem. Running nLite under W7 to create an XP ISO can be a problem, especially if you integrate a Service Pact. Did your original CD come with SP3 or did you integrate it? The most glaring thing I see is the .exe and .ini files in your Hot Fix section. As GrofLuigi pointed out these do not look like MS updates and I don't think nLite even accepts an .ini file. Did you get any error messages running nLite? You should get no errors running nLite or during install. It looks like this comes from your old DLed Last Session. I don't know what it will do, but absolute paths are not a good idea in general, so it should be changed back to the default. You might consider using the old Last Session as a guide and not just use it as a preset. This would mean manually completing the entries and avoiding the ones that don't look correct (as the path one). Please let us know what the things are in your Hot Fix section, if you get any errors and if you can run nLite under XP. If you must use W7 and are not adding an SP, then please run nLite in XP Compatibility Mode (right click nLite.exe, go to properties, Compatibility tab and set the Mode to Windows XP.) Enjoy, John.
-
Orion7, is this a really old nLite created Windows? Your Last Session shows nLite version Env = 1.0 RC6. I have never even heard of anything this old. The current version of nLite is 1.4.9.1 (please get it here) and should be the one you use. Can you redo your installation? Enjoy, John.
-
trailmax, it looks like to me that you have a .NET Framework problem. What version do you have installed? At least 2.0 is required. If you have this version, then DL a fresh copy from the MS DL Center, remove your current copy (use Add/Remove), install the DLed one and update it. Please report back as to your result. Please use the 1.4.9.1 version of nLite. Enjoy, John.
-
It turns out that the file is renamed during install. It appears that TXTSETUP.SIF and LAYOUT.INF both rename the file, thus:pagefile.vbs = 1,,,,,,,2,0,0,pagefileconfig.vbs pagefile.vbs = 1,,222222,,,,,2,0,0,pagefileconfig.vbsEnjoy, John.

Nono92700, thanks for the Last Session. I did not realize you were in France. Enjoy, John.
-
Nono92700, you can't integrate IE8 directly - MS's choice. There is an AddOn found in the AddOn Forum above by 5eraph. Now, please attach (not paste) your Last Session.ini. Make sure to always start with a fresh copy of your CD files/folders, do all your work in one nLite session and integrate only one SP. Please report when you have a solution, so others can benefit. Enjoy, John.
