  1. On another forum, a member linked to a site with these pictures explaining that they are not the tsunami, the pictures on this page are of a tidal bore which happend not so long ago either. Debunking the photos
  2. Everything in %cdrom%\$OEM$\$1 will get copied to your %SYSTEMDRIVE%. So if you wanted to run the setup included in %cdrom%\$OEM$\$1\drivers\000_ChipSet\SETUP.exe, in your runonce, that corresponds to %SYSTEMDRIVE%\drivers\000_ChipSet\SETUP.exe If you are installing drivers though, I would look up the driver section of the winnt.sif. That would be your best bet on installing the drivers.
  3. The setup should be the same as firefox. Look up the firefox thread, and follow the same procedure for thunderbird.
  4. Its called the search button. Check the unattended section, it has more info on it. To explain why the person was having the original problem; its because you are running the msi off the cd. It needs to be run off the hd. Donno why it is like that for the dotnet package, but it is. Ryan's package should work, because it will extract to the hd first, then run the msi.
  5. I believe MS stopped using the flags after 2000. So that would be the last OS they made that supported the flags. If you are on XP or 2k3, you can remove them.
  6. only thing that will break will be a single button on autorun.
  7. They make wireless adapters. If you have another computer with wireless, and an ethernet port, a crossover and bridge through the computer should work. Lastly, a long a** wire. I've used the crossover and bridge, which I think worked fine. I have a friend who does the same, but his lags constantly, and had problems getting updates. As of now, I moved my modem, and router next to my xbox, and use a short cord.
  8. I usually run all my reg tweaks twice. Once on cmdlines time, and once more during runonce. Some keys get overwritten before runonce, which is why I run them a second time.
  9. Looks like DOM is installed by default. Easiest hack is to edit the config.ini and go to Component ADT and change SELECTED to UNSELECTED. Best thing to do is just remove it all together.
  10. You also need to remove these from the feature list Java™ 2 Platform Standard Edition 5.0, Microsoft® DRM and Windows Media Player Plug-in Dynamic Link Library They aren't included in the installer supplied.
  11. Looks like you caught an error. But in all fairness, its still only getting installed 20% of the time . Since he commented out the setup type 0 qfa component, I would use that one.
  12. Seems the problem isn't with extensions, but plugins packed in xpi files. I guess the only way for me to add these is to use the firefox setup, and include my extension xpi files. Still don't see why it doesn't have a command line to install plugins.
  13. Check to see if they have any hotfixes on the cd. If they do, you need to take them out before doing the upgrade. Look for a svcpack or hotfixes folder in the i386 folder. Just delete it. Should fix the problem.
  14. That's not the problem. I don't have any problems with a drag and drop. The only extension that didn't work with 1.0, I removed. Do you have a profile created before you run the command? Thats the only thing I can come up with. Also wanted to mention that it brings up the import wizard when running the command.
  15. REG ADD %KEY%\026 /V 1 /D "%systemdrive%\Install\dotnetfw.exe /q /c:\"install /q\"" /f but like stated earlier, the one that is posted would be better; as it has all the sp1 update to it.
  16. Can anyone get the -install-global-extension command line arg working in FF 1.0? Doesn't seem to be working. Only way I can get it to work is by drag n drop. I've read the other threads, and prefer this method.
  17. It all depends on what you are doing. Use vmware to cut down testing time. I will make a preformated image, with all the settings I need. Save a backup of it. It ends up being around 5 mb. Then I overwrite the old image with this one when I'm ready for a new install. Depending on where you make modifications, you can use snapshots. If your changes are in cmdlines, and setup; you need to go through with the full install. If you have things in runonce(ex) then you can take a snap shot after setup, and make changes to the image by booting into safe mode. Most runonce extries don't even need a full install, you can check them on the current user. I generally incorporate several changes into the image at a time. Once I'm pretty sure everything is in good order, I'll do a full installation. Generally, everything works, but there are still problems that testing doesn't find in vmware vs real machines.
  18. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=29157 is pretty informative about what people like.
  19. Remove AutoLogonCount When the counter reaches 0, it will erase what is in the key.
  20. I know you fixed your problem and all, but no one told you why. Your problem was caused by having the username and computer name the same. this can be fixed by using the computername\username combo when writing your commands. net user computername\username password /ADD Next time you ask a question, post the original files. Take out the product key, and change the passwords if you want, but leave everything else the same. Its harder for other people to debug your work if you have one copy, but you have another.

  22. you could always try the usb kvms. I would assume they can work on both, but they are a lil more pricey than the ps2 variety.
  23. Do yourself a favor, and don't post a 2 meg file. Convert it to jpg. Save everyone some bandwidth. The way to fix your problem is to delete [HKLM\Software\ACD Systems\LM] Then reinstall.
  24. Use Real Alternate. It will allow you to play them in media player classic.
