  1. I've been running XP x64 with a standard Core 2 Duo system and 6GB of ram for just about a year now, and I see no reason to change, upgrade, or downgrade. I'm completely satisfied with XP x64, I game, view movies, and do plenty of other tasks, without a hitch. I would recommend XP x64 for use.
  2. Hi WildBill, I was wondering if you had any input on this, check out the following picture: By holydicks*** Notice how the text for both running programs is correctly smoothed, but the actual start menu button itself is untouched. Sure, it's a small thing that most people probably wouldn't notice, but is there a reason why the Start text isn't smooth? I've been using Smoothtext for quite a while now, and its something I've noticed pretty much since the beginning, and I just thought today, since I had time to make a post, I'd see if you had any input on this. Keep up the great work!
  3. Hi, I'm wondering if programs exist that make desktop icon text on Windows 2000 appear similar to how icon text is rendered on Windows XP and above. Here are some screenshots, to help show what I'm talking about: Here are icons on Windows XP, notice how there isn't a colored box around the text Here are icons from Windows 2000, where you can see the blue colored box around the text Is there a program available for Windows 2000 that allows icons to appear as they do in Windows XP?
  4. Keep up the excellent work WildBill, I can hardly stand to use Windows 2000 without SmoothText anymore. I love how well it works, and I'm recommending it to all my friends who are still sticking with Windows 2000. Thank you, and keep up the good work!
  5. I'll check it out, I normally just use pidgin on my NT4 box.
  6. This program has matured nicely, I use it on my 2000 machine constantly. It's configured to start upon login, and I never get any problems. Nice work
  7. I agree, the interface is a little cumbersome at times.
  8. Oh god yes, you have no idea how much I've wanted this.
  9. And they're suprised why people don't buy this crap. God, that's horrible.
  10. I always install all available patches, and never really notice a hit in performance.
  11. My only hope is that Rockstar releases patches making this game worthwhile, and not just abandoning now that it's already out the door.
  12. When they try so hard to prevent piracy that it prevents legit purchases from working, it's a problem.
  13. There's no way I could complain about my job when I could have a lunch like that.
  14. Word on the street says that it's a pretty buggy release.
  15. I got 27. As soon as I saw the complete list, I remembered so many more
  16. I'm excited for the added video editor in the PC version of GTA4.

  18. 110,000 95% That's at school on these mouses too, at home I bet I could do better.
  19. I would say use Gmail. I've never had a problem with spam, it all gets into my spam folder, and nowhere else.
  20. You can think all you want about Windows ME, but it doesn't seem like it will run Far Cry. Me isn't mentioned in the requirements. Even if you were to manage to get the game installed and it ran, I really don't think it would be that enjoyable with the wide open environments that Far Cry has. I remember playing this game on my Pentium 3 1ghz, with 384mb of sdram, and a geforce 5500, and while it was playable to a certain degree, I wasn't able to get the full experience of the game.
