ok i have figured out the permissions.......... permission to a user group called :CREATOR OWNER i denied permission for full control and read and the problem is solved. now i wanted to know that is this denial of permission is possible thruogh a command line or a registry value. if yes please tell me how it can be done.

hi i just used a source cd in which i slipstreamed all the hotfixes as said by te ms update site . but when i again went to the update site to check if it has been done properly ........... but to my shock what i saw that it says i still have 10 hf's missing so i again formatted i when i repeated the process of updating it says i dont need any update .......... so can anybody explain me what was the problem............

hi :hello i just formatted my computer and installed xp professional service pack 2................. but i get that a driver is missing even after i installed all my driver cd available with me. i did not get this driver missing anytime earlier ......... the missing driver is : SM Bus Controller if anybody can provide some guidelines..................: another problem: though i have sp2 installed but my directx is still version 8.1 and i am not able to update it............ anybody can suggest what can i do to correct this mistake in my xp cd

the registry value is : the value @="C:\\Program Files\\...........\\r00.ico" can change so it would be better if any value if it exists is just deleted. i have an app which adds this registry entry after every 5 mins.... it just checks the size of a drive and specifies an appropriate icon but just shows the hdd icon to my floppy drive but everything else is fine so i want that only this registry entry is deleted. i want that this registry entry should be deleted as soon as it is addded.thus the app should run in the background and delete the registry entry regularly please help...

but i'm a novice and really dont know using autoit..................... please give me a sample script for auto it. i want that the application should check the windows registry that whether a given registry value exists or not and if it exists then just completelty delete it. and it should run in the background while xp is running and check regularly after a fixed interval of time say 5 minutes

HI can u tell me what is going wrong? i have a vista like visual style which shows the progress animations with the glass effect but when i extract the progress bar chunk and change its colour and then reload it what i get is a very different progress bar. i just wanted to change the green colour to red but everything is just messed up as u can see. i am uploading the resource file containing the chunks if u can please modify them to red colour and upload or please show me where i can get it because i dont know very well about graphics............... so please help........... the uploaded res file link is: http://www.sendspace.com/file/huk2v2

Hi everybody, I expect that everybody now have xp installed in your computer. U've noticed that at the time of shutting down windows display some usual text like "Logging off...","Saving your settings" etc. Do u ever want to change them? Some of u may want but don't know how to do it. I'm telling u the way. First, goto C:\Windows\system32\. Then locate the file winlogon.exe. Copy it to a place you like(like d: or any other place). To do this we should have some stuffs. 1. Resource Hacker. 2. Replacer. They r not too much in space. So u can download them without any hesitation. After downloading launch Resource Hacker(RH). Goto File->Open. Open the file winlogon.exe. In left hand pane expand String Table. Goto key 106. Expand it and click 1033. In the right u can find some sentences. Find "Windows is shutting down..." & "Logging off...". Change these with phrase u like. Then click on the button "Compile Script".Goto File->Save. After it, Launch replacer. In the first step drop the original file (i.e. C:\Windows\ system32\ winlogon.exe) In second step drop ur modified file. (Drop Winlogon.exe not winlogon_original.exe created by RH). Do the rest(I hope u can do it by just reading). U have done. Reboot ur computer. See what u have done! If u face any problem feel free to post comments.
