Well, after looking around on pricewatch.com and some others, I cannot find a single vendor with stock on an X800 XT Paltinum Edition. Does anyone in here know of any vendor with stock selling these boards? I think I want an Asus brand, but I think they're all the same. Thanks.

I'm in there, but I have no way of comparing the values to the defaults unless they are published somewhere or there is a util that will inform me of a change...?

Any ideas what would cause XP to wait 30-40 esconds after entering the pasword to login? Nothing in my event log to indicate an error. This happens when connected to my home LAN, or when disconnected.

netquik is right... I found this link but it's unclear to me what exactly to do or even what a good freeware hexeditor might be..I assume that hex position indicates where to change the values and what to change them to, but I'd like to see it written from someone who knows. I'm also wondering about the CRC question netquik asked.

Sorry guys... I searched and found this thread. I did find the thread you refernced; however, it doesn't describe how one can edit one's own tcpip.sys with a hex editor. Just that here is the edited file and copy it to here... Also, thought I was in the WinXP forum.

Anyone have a link that describes the process of editing the tcpip.sys manually? I haven't used a hex editor before, but I'd rather do it myself then download a 3rd party file. Thanks!

4 machines behind one router... thing is when I do a clean install of windows, login happens in under 5 seconds and that **** DCOM error wasn't present. After a while it gets muchslower.

I seem to be having a problem logging into WinXP. It takes my machine about 45 seconds from the time I hit enter to the time I see my desktop. I looked in my Event Viewer>System log and found this error: Any ideas on how I can fix this? I suspect this is causing the delay logging in.
