  1. There two kinds of usage. First is for already installed machines - it is performing online/offline commands... It depends on you how you use this tool - you can use psexec for remote installations, you can use scheduled tasks or (my favourite) create protected secondary logon. I already implemented few different abilities - for example computer groups, onsite/offsite processing (for example onsite is WOL, offsite is secondary logon operations) etc... I will try to find some time to post it here next week. First I would like to finish ProtectUA project...
  2. 2MHz: Few questions: 1.) Would you mind to rip Identify Installer out from CMenu? 2.) What about creating database of known switches for setups, that dont support common installation?
  3. Remove @Echo Off and add Pause command, so you will see where exactly is the problem. You can also try to hardcode path to getmac...
  4. I already tried... Looks interesting, it is not for real pros, however for technicians etc who are responsible for kiosks or internet coffees...
  5. BTW What can you see on beta download place? I am not sure if beta.microsoft.com is normal way to download or if you are using connect???
  6. AFAIK - As far as I know ACT - Application Compatibility Toolkit
  7. There is ACT for Vista available AFAIK...
  8. I didnt have any license before, I am just going to try if it works In fact you dont need to change any paths in your cmds. Because first you will run protectua and protectua will unpack all files to the locations where they were before... OC wont affect max processor speed, because it is different value (CurrentSpeed vs. MaximumSpeed)... I cant work on it now, because one of my most important servers failed and I am trying to restore it
  9. 2SimonSays: This is requirement for "Full Aero" Vista... For normal OS it is much less... So I think that Vista wont need futuristic HW. But I will be sure when I will get hand on my copy of Vista Beta
  10. Yep, I heard a little... There are more plans on changing activation... For example there will be some time delay before you will need to activate your windows (so you can use activate in winnt.sif and it will automatically activate when internet is available)... However AFAIK you will still need product code.
  11. It would be great! I would just like some icons + logos for programs... Request is for something small, cute and simple I used Moby temple before (jing/jan symbols with binary code inside) However I am extremely antiGUI person, so I will left it on a volunteer...
  12. Its not the same, because on Vista DVD are build for different HW... So 32/64 versions x x86/ia64 architecture
  13. Hello guys! I decided I need something that I could use for all my programs/scripts... I know this is hard-to-believe request, but isnt there someone who would like to create some logos/icons for me? I can see that using different stolen icons for my programs are not the best possible way
  14. 2Zxian: I encountered many problems with linux + wifi I am not linux guy, however I tried to solve some problem with *nix professionals... There is only one good place for linux in wifi network - acting as Radius + Kerberos server between AP and AD...
  15. Hello guys again I am planning to create something like timer for my work... So when I arrive to my office, I will simply turn it on and it will ring after I spend my usual 8 () hours at work... Have you implemented code similar to this?
  16. I was forced to change my "license" by my girlfriend BTW News about ProtectUA - it will be delayed a little... Right now I am thinking a LOT about future, so any ideas are appreciated ASAP! I want to create the base build, so I wont need to change whole code next time when...
  17. AFAIR only reason to not use Fat32 is when you want to boot from usb flash disk...
  18. You dont need to delete and take care of hotfixes... There is Shell= option in Win.ini AFAIR.
  19. Pepsi! (I was working in PCGB )
  20. Hmmm, dont think so they changed this... I will check at home and let you know, but I am almost sure you can still found "real" administrator by looking at RID 500
  21. Which services? What is their state? What errors can you see in event log?
  22. 2mls: Yep, its true for OS, but I think you need driver for VPC
