  1. It would be great if we can get the registry settings for these and just apply it.
  2. Am I missing something here? When did laptops ever come with drivers for the LCD display? Anyways, I have been having tremendous amount of difficulties installing Windows XP on my Gateway laptop. At first I thought it was the SATA driver, but now I'm starting to think it may be the video card driver. I'm using the driver for the Intel GMA 950 from the Driverpacks. Is that the problem why Windows XP cannot boot to the desktop? The installation isn't very consistent. While it's silently installing the drivers, the driver installation menu would pop up multiple times asking me to locate and install the plug and play monitor driver. I clicked yes many times and it said it was successfully installed and yet keeps on asking me to click yes and search and etc. Finally it stops doing that and proceeds to finish installing. Afterwards, it just crash as it enters the Windows XP screen. Do you guys think it may be the video card driver from the driver pack that is causing this problem?
  3. I'm trying to flash my BIOS using my USB stick and if I set it to being the first device to reboot, I get this error message: "Ungueltiges System Datentraeger wechseln und Taste druechken" What does that mean?
  4. You know when you're installing Windows XP, there is that option to press "F6" to load RAID or SATA drivers. How can I get my USB memory stick to be detected so that my SATA drivers will be loaded and installed? Thanks! Edit: My motherboard supports USB flash drive booting so no need to remind me of this!
  5. I just did that and it didn't work. This is all that the screen shows: * Expert mode (-x) * Warning different filesystem ID Size=0bytes OEM="<=_[sIHC" VolLabel="NO NAME" FileSys="FAT16" Now that I'm thinking, is all of this really necessary? I just want to be able to store SATA drivers on my USB stick and get the "F6" function to detect the SATA drivers on the USB stick.
  6. How do I do that? When I first did it, I went to command prompt from the start menu.
  7. It doesn't work! I get an error as I enter that command saying it can't locate the file even though I placed it in the right directory.
  8. Holy crap, the instructions seems rather complicated. Are there any easier methods or a program that will simplify things?
  9. I'm not sure if I'm wording this properly so please bear with me. I'm trying to install Windows XP and I need to load up a storage driver before I can install Windows. So at the screen, it ask me to press "F6" and I did, but then, it can't seem to detect my USB memory stick. I just placed the drivers into the root directory of the USB stick. Am I doing this properly or I need to format the USB memory stick to emulate floppy mode? Thanks!
  10. There is another way to obtain the files and it will also work in the feature with newer releases of the drivers. You will need to download the Win32 setup of Intel Matrix Storage driverpackage from Intel.com instead of F6 floppy installer. After that you can extract the files from the downloaded archive, this can be done by launching the iata.exe file from a prompt or the Windows run with the following parameters: \iata621_enu.exe" -A -PC:\IATA This way the files will be extracted to the C:\IATA folder without installing them on your system. the files located in the C:\Extracted\Driver\ folder are the same as the files you will find in the F6 floppy installer. The command doesn't work for me too.
  11. It does everything from creating your own pre-installed Windows image, to unattended installs, to massive deployment (I think). It contains Win PE & also sysprep. Is it easy to use? I'm surprised that this hasn't been publicized that much.
  12. What I mean by this is that does HFSLIP modifies any files during the installation process like what Nlite does? If so, does this make it a less "standard" install that I could obtain if I were to do it manually by following the unattended guide from MSFN? I notice in my the Control Panel's "Add and Remove screen" that a HFSLIP application is installed. Ultimately it goes down to this, does HFSLIP make an unattended install the same as I would have achieved manually by following MSFN's unattended guide? Thanks!
  13. I don't know what happened to the OP, but I'm really frustrated by the fact that I can't get this to work. I just bought a USB stick and I should receive it tomorrow. How do I make my USB stick bootable like a floppy disk? Can I just place these files in the USB stick's main directory and then just press "F6" to load them and install Windows XP? a. iaahci.cat b. iaahci.inf c. iastor.cat d. iastor.inf e. iastor.sys f. license.txt g. readme.txt h. txtsetup.oem
  14. No man, it doesn't work for me either. Am I the only one experiencing this problem? I don't understand why it's so difficult to disable the screensaver.
  15. There seems to be two fields under font and maybe you can explain this to me. What is the difference between "Asian Text Font: +Asian Body" and "Font: Calibri"?
  16. Can this problem be resolved through an update to HFSLIP?
  17. No I haven't, but I figure someone here would know. I feel like I'm 95% done and I need someone to tell me what to do afterwards so that I can finish off my unattended CD!
  18. What is this program for? Is it to help facilitate unattended installs?
