  1. Hi, I'm using a Intel Pro/100 S Desktop adapter and I am wondering how can I silently install the driver? I obtain the driver from this link, http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...al&submit=Go%21, and I don't know how to locate the actual inf file or w/e is needed to get the job done. Can anyone here provide specific instructions for me? Thx alot!
  2. I tried doing a search and there were links pointing out that I must download the OEM intellipoint driver in order to silently install it. However the links are no longer active and I was wondering if someone can point me to a site or place to download it and give me a little instruction? Thx

  4. Can you be a bit more specific? I downloaded the driver from this link, http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scripts-df...al&submit=Go%21, and I extracted the files to a folder. I can't seem to locate the .inf file for my Intel Pro/100 S Desktop Adapter. Can you take a look at the file and tell me the specifics? Thx
  5. No, I'm using a 10/100 Intel Pro Card. It's a separate PCI Network card. I was wondering how would you silently install the driver. Btw the driver is a separate .exe file that you have to download from intel's website. The problem is that it doesn't seem to install itself and the .exe extract itself to C:\. Maybe you can give me some more specific information?
  6. Hey guys, I just extracted the files from the main catalyst file and initiated the setup.exe -R in the command prompt. I found the setup.iss file in the c:\windows folder. However, I'm not sure if it's the right one. I opened the .iss file with notepad and this is what I got: [installShield Silent] Version=v6.00.000 File=Response File [File Transfer] OverwrittenReadOnly=NoToAll [{43801800-CFEE-11D2-A41B-006097B55AD3}-DlgOrder] Dlg0={43801800-CFEE-11D2-A41B-006097B55AD3}-SdWelcome-0 Count=3 Dlg1={43801800-CFEE-11D2-A41B-006097B55AD3}-SdLicense-0 Dlg2={43801800-CFEE-11D2-A41B-006097B55AD3}-SdOptionsButtons-0 [{43801800-CFEE-11D2-A41B-006097B55AD3}-SdWelcome-0] Result=1 [{43801800-CFEE-11D2-A41B-006097B55AD3}-SdLicense-0] Result=1 [{43801800-CFEE-11D2-A41B-006097B55AD3}-SdOptionsButtons-0] Result=101 Is this right?

  8. I tried to follow the guide from MSFN, http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/applications/installshield.htm, and create a .iss file for the catalyst drivers. However, after installing it using wxp-w2k-catalyst-8-01-040421a-015419c.exe -R in command prompt, the .iss file didn't appear in "C:\Windows". Am I doing anything wrong? Is there another method to install the catalyst driver silently?

  10. So what is the better decision? Use XPCREATE and slipstream the files like drivers and hotfixes and then run nLite or nLite first and then xpcreate second? Thx
  11. If I remove windows media player from the iso, does that mean I still need to install the windows update for windows media player, even though it doesn't exist? Will windowsupdate tell me to install the updates despite not having WMP installed? Also what is MDAC and OOBE? Can I remove those, or I need to have it installed? Thx
  12. Like using icq or MSN? I'm really interested in learning, but my computer understanding is limited and I would be greatly appreciated if someone here can spare some time to get this kid up and running. Thx
  13. Also does either of these programs help make it easier to quietly do a unattended install of apps and drivers? Thx
  14. when I try installing this update, a menu pops up and asks me to click next and etc. How do I suppress this menu? Also when installing this update, why do I get a error message: "WEUpdate cannot retrieve information needed for setup from database." What does that mean? Thx
