Dodger- do you get any error when it shuts down? And was 2000 installed after XP or XP installed with 2000 already on your PC? I installed XP as a upgrade one time with 2000 on and it gave me promblems....I know i did a format and install 2000 afterwards and only did updates for officefrom the download catologe instaed of installing all of SP1 and 2 and it worked fine then. Sometimes SP version add promblems instead or fixin them...go figure. -XPerties

refering to andy post by using the restore feature this only restores XP and not any other applications you may have messed up. Keep in mind that uninstalling a application doesnt actually uninstall it completly. There are several dozen added in the registry. and unless your a expert with the registry I wouldnt suggest messin with it. I assume being a gateway theres a restore cd that would put the computer back to like when you first opened it out of the box. All you would have to do is insert the CD and follow the directions. Keep in mind that you will lose any documents or work you may have so save what you can to diskette or CD's. Im sorry I could not be more assisntance but im unfamiliar with Works. I would have to concer with Elite. Xp handles games in my option alot better than any other OS, but unless you start at the base of the actual promblem then you would be in the same mind frame as most by blaming XP. You should first research your hardware and make sure you Vid card has all the lastest drivers. Not to mention depending on the games your trying alot if not all older games wont work. You cant expect a DOS game to work on XP. Kindly list the games and your hardware profile along with the drivers your currently using this will allow us to assist you in finding the solution to your promblem. Take care -XPerties

Your probaly woundering why Im back...Well the main place that does the drivers tarining wasnt getting paid from the finicail instution. So I took the bus all the way to harrisburg , Pa and this morning they told me and 20 other guys they were closing there doors for the next 7-10 days untill they finished getting the paper work set up from the new finical instution they are going with. So thats the deal. Was a little f***ing p***ed when I got there and in the class room and the general manager comes in and say "I have bad news and your not going to like this guys"...yah to say the least alot of guys werent happy. -Xperties

I need to have a friend be able to connect to my server while Im gone to maintian it. Im behind a router and not sure why its not working right. I can connect VIA remote connection but Im behind my router. Now he will be at his home meaning he wil need to get to my server. On my main PC i have DMZ host enabled and on my server I have port 21 forwarded. Now do i need to change anything to allow him to connect. We have tried and its saying wrong password or user but hes using the same password and user as I use all the time. SHould I change that DMZ to my server or what? This is very important as I will be gone for weeks. Please assist in any way. -XPerties BTW i posted this here knowing it to be in the wrong section but it needs special attention within 48 hours. Well I have been after getting my CDL lic for years and I was just approved for a compltete paid triaing to get my CDL lic to drive a big rigg......Ill be leaving monday morning for 3 weeks there after be driveing and makeing a s*** load of money.
