  1. Ok, I'm getting stuck now. Needed to add the intel pro1000 to my ris/winpe today (RIS says no without new drivers), got the latest drivers and the modified inf file, copied everything into the correct folders and made a new entry in the $oem directory, updated the sif file. Booted the first system onto ris and loaded PE, nice and painless, no problem, PE loaded. Good I thought! Better test it before I let the engineers use it and, erm, the thing will not resolve host names to IP addresses. Will not map a network drive using host name. IP mapping is fine... Checked DHCP, WINS, DNS and everyting is correct. Other systems with b57 or intel pro 100's connect and can resolve names fine but the IBM's using the pro 1000 cannot. Did notice when checking the leased IP addresses that the RIS generated computername does not show up alongside the leased address but it does with all the other networkcards (added e100, b57, yukon, realtek - all fine) If anyone can offer some help I'd be grateful... Or, does PE use a host table. Gonna try this.... Thanks. Disclaimer: I have searched the forums but nothing specific bit me in the nose so if there is a duplicate thread then sorry....
  2. Didnt take long. Run a script to locate the size of the hdd in mb, took away 4096 and put in a dos variable %offsetsize% and run the diskpart command create partition primary size=4096 offset=%offsetsize% then created the first partition....
  3. Sorry if I am in the wrong place... I am using PE2005 as a primary deployment tool for our puters over here. Most options are fine and covered. Came across a scenario today that has stumped me. I want to split a hard disk into 2 seperate primary partitions. The second partition needs to be 4096mb in size and reside at the end of the disk. The disks are of different sizes so I need to create the partition at the end of the drive first. Previously we used gdisk in dos but the 32 bit version does not create new partitions. As I said, this would be nice to follow our processes and run through winpe, I know about diskpart but I cannot find a way of creating the second partition first unless I work out the exact offset to start the partition from.... ANy help would be appreciated...
  4. 1 - Yes 2 - Not sure...
  5. Here you go. run /? for the options... peshutdown.exe
  6. You are loading the drivers for PE but not for your installation. You need to do the same sort of thing to add the drivers to an oem drivers path withing your unattend setup file. No?

    UK settings.

My deployment process is hands free, it's the QA section where they confirm the correct date and time, even if i put a heading on the date field - mm/dd/yyyy in red letters 4m high the engineers are gonna try and change the date. PS Respect to Sweden....

    UK settings.

I know its re addressing the issue, but here goes. I need to get away from the American dates and use UK settings dd/mm/yyyy. I have tried loading the hive, changing the language settings there - Put UK settings in and after building PE the setupreg.hive loses the updated infoemation. Tried changing stuff in winpesys.inf to no avail. Keep getting US dates (this is where i sucessfully changed the keyboard Layout). This is straight winpe 2005. Not barts. I dont use pebuilder. Would appreciate the help....
  13. Unless you are a partner, i dont think you can register on the oem site

  15. Hi, I have a windows server 2003 system and it is a member server in a windows 2000 active directory. What I need to do is connect Ms-Dos clients to a network share using a local account created on the 2003 box. I have acheived this before but like a numb, I lost the documentation. For the life of me I cannot duplicate the process. Can anyone suggest the local policies on the server/domain I need to adjust?

    Time Zones?

When copying files of my Winpe to a network share, 8 hours are added to the time stamp. I assume this is because PE is running on US time zone and regional settings. Whilst im looking does anyone know how to modify this? TA
