  1. I'm working on something that is compatible with the XPlode XML, but allows normal selection of items. Now, it's not to replace XPlode, but rather to complement it if needed. Anyways, as you can see it's in the early stages right now, but comments etc. would be nice. Official thread (in XPlode forum): http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?&act=ST&f=86&t=19262

    XPdeploy 0.1b

I'll probably do sourceforge this weekend. Have to add comments and licenses and s*** first. I started XPlode cuz I would use it, but nowadays I don't... XPCREATE does what I need as far as the install goes, and this thing should do me fine when I want to deploy certain progs to certain comps, without doing others. Anyways, the thing is almost exactly the same as the Add/Remove progs... which was the idea. Except it's not used to remove ;-) Images should theoretically work... it's just a bunch of HTML using the IE renderer. Of course, they have to exist on the drives... unless I start looking into streams and s***. Which arne't fun. Anyways, lunch is burning, I'll be back in a while

    XPdeploy 0.1b

Just something you people might like to see... I don't use XPlode at all, I just tend to install everything at first restart off a share on my domain controller. Anyways, that s*** is irrelevant. What might be interesting though, is this: I'm working on something that is compatible with the XPlode XML, but allows normal selection of items. Now, it's not to replace XPlode, but rather to complement it if needed. Anyways, as you can see it's in the early stages right now, but comments etc. would be nice. Update: Added resizing, thing in the centre for showing the current install. Will make it compatible with the original XPlode display routine... so it's completely compatible. Oh, and one other thing, it's independent of GDIplus.dll, so it should run anywhere that has (a recent version of) IE installed.
  5. Ummm. remove your XP cdkey please.
  6. DVD, actually Simpler without MSDN as well. Cuts the size down by about half.
  7. I decided to do so, but I figured it was easier doing the nForce and Detonators when running XPlode. Doesn't matter now, in OemPnpThingy now...
  8. Anyone got any idea how to stop the auto-restart at the end of the install? Google came up with nothing, figure there's something I need to add to the ISS...
  9. Just a quick note, I'll write up some docs on how to install VS.NET 2003 unattended, providing what I'm doing works AaronXP: I'll try and make it as "User Friendly" as possible, so you or whoever can stick it up on http://unattended.msfn.org Also, I should point out that Visio 2003 unattended is exactly the same procedure as the Office 2003 notes on the unattended pages (or have other people said that already... I dunno ) Give me a few days to figure it out completely, debug it, etc. etc.
  10. Yeah, it's university. B E (Mechanical / Mechatronic / Space Engineering), at University of Sydney. It's one of those courses that sounds cool when people ask As you people may have noticed, another week, another non-release of source. Getting ridiculous. I might just upload a zip to sourceforge in a couple of days, rather than using CVS. I need some time to get CVS working Anyways. I'm out for at least 3 days. 4 assignments due in the next 3 days. Sucks. Peace, *out*
  11. Maybe to zealots, not to Linux itself. ------------------------------- Anyways, I've been using linux for 4 or so years, never had any problems...until recently. I recently switched to Gentoo, mainly because I wanted to recompile everything specifically for my AMD64 machine, rather than running IA32 code. The network card dies after about 5MB transfer. Only way to fix it is a restart. Now, before this starts looking like a pro-windows post, I should point out that I have had nothing but problems with windows on the same machine. Constantly running out of file descriptors (I think), which requires a restart every 24 hours. All network drops out, can't open files, the old-style XP shutdown dialog opens ratther than the 3-button funky one. Other problems I've come across, but everything is usually fixed quite easily, just as the problems I had with linux. I plan to go back to linux once the kernel bug is fixed, only because windows s***s me. Thankfully I have 4 personal machines.
  12. The site shouldn't have gone down. Maybe there was a problem where I was hosting it. I'm trying not to disappear off the face of the earth, really I am Uni has his crunch time... I'm finding I have less and less time to work on things other than to do with uni, which unfortunately includes XPlode. This was why I wanted it moved to an open source model. Of course, I need to find the time to move it to sourceforge Ho hum. We'll see how it goes.
  13. Haha.. I had already thought of that I will, however, need people to manage the database for their own language... up for it? At the moment, it'll just be adding URL, description, simple things like that. Of course, nothing's set up yet, so that may change
  14. Just out of interest, would people want a tool that could automatically download the hotfixes, and, optionally, put them in a useable way, such as automatic storage in the right folders for XPCREATE, XML generation for XPlode etc.? I'm thinking of doing something like that tonight, while I don't have uni tomorrow. Anyone think it's going to be useful?
  15. Suppose I should add a screenshot to that topic, eh?
  16. Make a plugin to do it. Hopefully I'll have CVS going soon. I'm in the process of moving to linux, so there won't be any more XPlode from me. Well, not much at least. I'll see how things go.

    XPlode 1.1.2

Just updated AGAIN. Readme has changes.

    XPlode 1.1.2

Okay, updated now... this time I actually checked it, rather than assuming it was correct
  19. It does. Theoretically.

    XPlode 1.1.2

None of Display, WriteLog, GetString, SetEnvironment work in the plugins. his is a problem with the scope I had mentioned earlier. I screwed up the callbacks Basically, that stops a large proportion of the functions. The plugins should still execute properly, but not actually show anything. Working on a fix.

    XPlode 1.1.2

Hmmm. Bit of a whoops. Screwed up the scope. *shrugs* Fixed version in a few minutes. EDIT: Or maybe not. It's being a crackwhore. Too tired to fix it up now, will do it when I wake up tomorrow.
  22. I think that was only in one of the older versions. It automatically finds them in the XPlode directory.

    XPlode 1.1+

It's one of those unix things Try looking for WinCVS.

    XPlode 1.1.2

Actually, notepad does speak unicode. *shrugs*
  25. It's about time I released a new version, eh? It's been a MONTH since 1.0.6. Kinda bad. No time. Yadda yadda yadda. Get 1.1.0 at: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=18429 Homepage: http://xplode.voidfx.com/ The next version will be open source, released through SourceForge.net. I plan to do a massive cleanup of the code, and I'm aiming for a near-SP2 release date. In the meantime, there is an example shortcut plugin on the CVS, check the other sticky in the XPlode forum on how to access it.
