Dunno about the retail version then, bought mine online. If the key is the same as the activation code you get when you purchase online you can convert it to a key here
-
put your key file in the same dir as the msi file and it will automatically find it on install.

Here is what I have done. Custom Action :- Delete RunApp Delete RunPIWAndWait Property Manager :- Add SAVEDAVBASESINSTALLED set value to 1 Add USESAVEDAVBASES set value to 1 Add USESAVEDSETTINGS set value to 1 Create mst. Using an Inno script, prior to compiling the exe, I copy the Base, Dskm and Data (Kav6.cfg only) folders to {commonappdata}\Kaspersky Lab\AVP6\Temp, these folders will have the latest updates updated through KAV. The folders will be extracted prior to installing to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP6\Temp and KAV will see them and copy them to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP6 instead of the bases included with the installer, databases are up to date and no update on first run. There is still a problem with the settings as because the default level in avp.exe is Basic not all of the settings will get installed, but they do after I load them via KAV, still trying to find out if a reg key could sort the protection level.

If the key is genuine you should be OK, with SP2 Microsoft ditched the professional text on the boot screen.

@ lost Soul Hi Bud, Yeah d@mn unattended disk keeps getting bigger and bigger lol and yeah Raid5 for a bit of data security. I should have put the RAM size down, will be going for 2GB but will give Vista a miss for a while, not much to make me change over, at least for now, but would prolly increase to 4GB if I get Vista and it would have to be the Ultimate edition wanna use the Media Centre. As for your turn, I will gladly step aside and let you meddle if you turn up outside my door the next time the missus is visiting her family lol. The reason for the Dell is the size, 30" and a bit cheaper then Apples screen, just bugger all connections on the monitor which is Prolly Dells way of protecting their LCD TV market, already got a Viewsonic VP201s as my monitor but I am always taking the p*** out of my Pops for watching TV on a 21" prehistoric screen and that is really what I end up doing with my monitor. @jcarle Thanks for the suggestion, it was the main contender before I decided on the Ninja, along with the 110mm fan version CNPS9700-LED and the fancier CNPS9700-NT, the thing that put me off was the various reviews and forum posts saying the finish on the base was a bit lacklustre and many folks ended up lapping the base to make it smoother and found the base to be sometimes slightly uneven and not all of it making contact with the CPU. I don't have any manufacturer allegiance or aim to make a silent PC, cant seem to sleep when the machine is switched off I've got use to the hum of the Jet 4 currently cooling this CPU, I just want the best performing cooler I can afford without having to lap it 'cos I'll prolly O\Clock the DUOand the Ninja got some good reviews from a few sites. Do you have one, and if so did you notice any problems with it?

Its about time I updated my machine. Its approx 3 years old, its not really a slug but I want to play Gigabyte SINXP1394 mobo Intel P4 3.06ghz 1 gig Corsair XMS Platinum 20GB IBM brought out of retirement due to HD failure 120GB IBM last one of 4 bought at the same time and have clocked up approx 35000 hours run each so not to upset the went belly up, had some hammer with Grabit and Winrar. New spec :- Asus PSW DH Deluxe. Core Duo E6600. Scythe Ninja Plus 2GB Corsair TwinX DDR2 PC6400 or PC8500. MSI 7900GTO, not really a games player, maybe Tomb Raider, Bought an XBox360 for that (bit dissappointed). 36gb WD Raptor as main Windows drive. Thecus N5200 Roustar 5 x 500GB WD5000YS RE2 Dell 3007WFP TFT. USB floppy for odd times. That's basically it, bit on the fence about the Dell monitor, read some reviews all saying the brightness isn't uniform across the screen, and the N5200 gets good and bad reviews dunno if it will do what I intend for it to do. What I want is to connect my SMC Barricade to the WAN port on the N5200 for the T'Interweb, use the 4 port gigabit switch to network 3 PC's trouble is no port forwarding for RemotelyAnywhere etc on theN5200, and then be able to logon to the shared folders with all the machine concurrently with the same user name and password. If anyone has any thoughts or better preferences I would appreciate the input, especially for the TFT and NAS devices.

A little bit more info would be helpful than just repeating the same statement. Have you registered the program?, what version are you using?. Here is as simple as I can make it. 1. Install the program normally or with the /verysilent switch. 2. Run the program. 3. Wait for the register screen to pop up. 4. Click the register now button and add your information. 5. After successful registration a file will be created called Register.key in the programs directory, this is were your registration details are stored, save this key for future use and use urie's suggestion or your own to copy it to the install directory after a fresh installation. This works for me with Driver Genius 2006 v6.1.2518.
-
After you enter the reg info look for the file Register.key in the install directory.

Sheesh, Again, go on then . When you have installed the Deep Freeze Enterprise Administrator, run it and select the 1st option, then use DF6Wks.exe /Install /Freeze=C /PW=password or whatever according to the help file. You can use the configuration tab to set some preferences like stealth mode (No tray icon) etc

About Installing Multiplu Extensions Unattently with Firefox 2.0
benners replied to gugutz's topic in Application Installs
I haven't tried with FF2 but if the switches still work it requires the installed FF exe to install the extensions not the installer itself, try changeing Firefox Setup 2.0 RC 3.exe to the location of firefox, prolly your version of %ProgramFiles%\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe -
No probs, I know the wife has you cooking, ironing and hoovering, * sound of whip crack*, just good to know it works on other machines besides mine. Just out of curiosity did you notice blank entries in the default run after installing an unmodded installer?
-
The text you have for the dialogs was wrong, even though the text is there AutoIt cannot see it. Run("setup.exe") WinWaitActive("ScreenPrint32 v3.5 Setup", "E&xit Setup") Send("{ENTER}") WinWaitActive("ScreenPrint32 v3.5 Setup", "&Change Directory") Send("{ENTER}") WinWaitActive("ScreenPrint32 v3.5 - Choose Program Group", "&Continue") Send("!c") WinWaitActive("ScreenPrint32 v3.5 Setup", "was completed successfully") Send("{ENTER}") this worked for me but you will get additional windows if there are any version conflicts with dll or ocx files, if this happens the install will hang waiting for the next window. Basically I would repack this app, I think the vbruntime files are included with SP2 so not all the files will be needed or use WinSnap

@ Lost Soul Long time no hear, where've ya been This is the mst I use I have tested it on mine and it works fine, here is what it does :- 1 - Doesn't Reboot, up to you to run the avp.exe for the installation to finish with the reboot, I use an AutoIt script. 2 - Doesn't add a blank default key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run, or am I the only one suffering from this?. 3 - If you export your settings to a file called kav6.cfg and place it in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP6\Data before installing it will also import your settings, well at least the ones under the Exclusion Masks and Trusted Applications tabs. If installed silently only the basic protection is selected, not the interactive protection, so not all the entries are selected under the "Enable Application Activity Analyser" and "Registry Guard" is not selected, can't find a way to change this as its the avp.exe responsible not the msi, but when the cfg is imported through avp.exe they are checked. Kav6.mst

Application Registry? easy or not? method
benners replied to tspirit85's topic in Application Installs
use Regedit regedit /S regfilename -
, after registering using the exe I have also deleted the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\DVDAuthorPro with no complaints from the program. I use an edited inno setup and an AutoIt script to register. The names and serial have been changed to protect the innocent #NoTrayIcon Dim $RegDoneTitle = "DVD-lab", $RegNagTitle = "Shareware", $RegInfoTitle = "Enter Registration Info", $Exe = '"' & @ScriptDir & "\DVDlabPRO.exe" & '"' Dim $Name = "Bruce Wayne", $Serial = "11223344556677", $UnlockCode = "12345-12345-12345-12345" RunWait(@Comspec & " /c " & $Exe , "", @SW_HIDE) ; Start from cmd 'cos DVDlabPRO.exe terminates spawning process. WinWait($RegNagTitle, "") ; Wait for the register nag screen If Not WinActive($RegNagTitle, "") Then WinActivate($RegNagTitle, "") ; Activate the Register nag screen. ControlClick($RegNagTitle, "", "Button2") ; Click the "Enter Reg Code" button. WinWait($RegInfoTitle, "") ; Wait for the registration window. If Not WinActive($RegInfoTitle, "") Then WinActivate($RegInfoTitle, "") ; Activate the Reregistration window. ControlSetText($RegInfoTitle, "", "Edit1", $Name) ; Add the Name. ControlSetText($RegInfoTitle, "", "Edit2", $Serial) ; Add the Serial. ControlSetText($RegInfoTitle, "", "Edit3", $UnlockCode) ; Add the unlock code. ControlClick($RegInfoTitle, "", "Button1") ; Click the ok button on the registration window. WinWait($RegDoneTitle, "") ; Wait for the successful registration window. If Not WinActive($RegDoneTitle, "") Then WinActivate($RegDoneTitle, "") ; Activate the successful registration window. ControlClick($RegDoneTitle, "", "Button1") ; Close thesuccessful registration window. WinActivate($RegNagTitle) ; Activate the Register nag screen. ControlClick($RegNagTitle, "", "Button4") ; Close the program.
-
Nope, to me it seems you can only register by using the exe when running for the first time.
-
For older versions that worked, the installer is still Inno setup so the switches work, but the registration doesn't work for version 2, the serial is still added to the reg key above but also to one created in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID.
-
Pre version 2 used to just rely on the registry info, but this version also adds a key here HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{20E13EC7-6725-83FC-F95F-17D49AA6BEE5}This changes with each computer (Including Fresh OS install) and probably each version from what I have observed so just adding the serial etc will not work, nor will exporting the key above. I Don't know about silent but you could make it Unattended, create an AutoIt script to add the info for you, one thing is that the DVDlabPro.exe seems to close the process that spawned it, I noticed this with InCtrl5 and Installrite, so if you start the exe from your script it will terminate and you'll be left with open windows, run the exe using cmd.exe. You could either hide the windows or move them offscreen but personally I think it would be a waste of time for the amount of time they are visible.
-
You could also press ctrl and either move the mouse or use the scroll wheel to alter the text size in Firefox, used to work in IE but haven't used it for a while.
-
Can't seem to install this one app silently
benners replied to RadiatedAnt's topic in Application Installs
D:\setupEN.exe /VERYSILENT worked for me no problem. -
I think the program you want is Installrite

Auto close when finished compressing. Thanks

@ZileXa To disable the shared folder I use "SharingDisabled"=dword:00000001 under the users passport settings here HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\PerPassportSettings\passporthashhere Still can't get it to unattendedly use the same Display picture or have my credentials added to auto connect
