  1. I am getting them now, will post the results after installation! Big Booger Rev you are the man, the propheteer!
  2. Never use it again. Big Booger I think it will work.
  3. I did that on an old DVD drive that exhibited the same simptoms. Now it works. Also, have you tried buying a new drive. There dirt cheap. I picked up a DVD samsung 16X for around 30-35 bucks US. Get a new drive. My guess is your DVD is worn out, raggedy, crappy, or whatever. Time to get a new one. big Booger
  4. Or is it feet? Hell I don't know. But I would be far more scared of the FRANKENFOODS we have circulating in the foodchaing these days. I mean GMF's are abound. Mixing Pigs with spinach genes, and Corn with AIDS, and RICe with beta carotene. I think the days of anything being safe is over. just something to consider. Big Booger Grow your own, if you want the real deal LOL
  5. cause it syncs my clock for me LOL, but I am using an older version and will stay with it until a new form of bypass comes available. Big Booger
  6. Don't fall into the myth of believing everything you hear, its often not true. In regards to your issue, uninstall everything expect for the bare necessities. Then slowly but surely, reinstall your software, paying careful attention to when the instability occurs. Make sure to update all your drivers to the latest version, patch the software that needs patching, and if you get some software that is bunk, find an alternative, example, you want roxio ezcd but it sucks on your system, get fireburner, nero, CLonecd, cdrwin etc.. Also, make sure not to install Direct CD, and take two on XP. I have found I don't have problems when these two are not installed. When I do install them MY SYSTEM TAKES A s*** ON ME. This is what happens on my system, on others it may work fine. SO play around, experiment. See what works and what does not on your system. Big Booger
  7. What did you finally end up doing about your RAM? I actually bought the 512Mb rambus from Ebay. They are sending my product tomorrow. I should get it in 5-7 days! I will post up my experience/impression. Truly I think I stole it, so far so good. They sent me 3 emails in less than 24 hours. Big Booger
  8. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;EN-US;q224054 This seems to be the error you are getting and the solution is provided! OR this site http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;en-us;Q224632 I think you will find your solution as these sites. Big Booger
  9. make sure you have the most up to date drivers for your DVDROM, including any firmware revisions. Another thing is to make sure you are not using pirated software (ahem, choke, cough, puke), also make sure you have the latest winDVD for XP, including any updates or patches. If it still will not work, try using powerDVD or the built in DVD player in WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER. Post up any further questions! Good luck, Big Booger
  10. Must have been an oversight. Big Booger
  11. Things I would do, Try this site: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/ or this site http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/usi...working/ics.asp or this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...b;EN-US;q310563 Though I would guess that setting it up with XP advanced server would be much the same as 2K advanced server. other issues you might think about: Disable the XP firewall. RUN ICS. big Booger
  12. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=e...l%3Den%26sa%3DG That site has the case, but I really dont know how much it is. Check it out for yourself. Its a german site. So I used googles translator to translate it. Big Booger
  13. for the US army (civilian job). She was the operator of the flight sim that would train the airbourne division. She would let me and my brother come in on weekends and play/use the flight sim. It was the best experience I ever had. However, this guy is bonkers. I think he is a single male, working in a high profile position without many friends. If anyone would take gaming to that level, they must have a mental problem associated with the lack of the ability to function properly in society. That or its the next terrorist training camp LOL as FthrJACK pointed out LOL Big Biiger
  14. For example, my keitai,(cellphone) has broadband, MP3 downloading, a built in camera, and screensavers that are very kewl. It has over 300 ring tones, etc... They have some very L33t s*** here, but its all in Japanese. Luckily, they have made manuals in English and my phone can be changed to English. It is very nice. I have not heard of this terabyte DVD/CD but I am very interested. I will check it out immediately. Sounds kewl. What amazed me here was the amount of navigators people have in their cars, you see them everywhere. IN the states, you only see them in expensive cars, but here they are in everything from mercedes to Mini pajero's (mitsubishi small truck). The best part is they are multifunctional. YOu can watch satellite TV, play DVD's, get the weather from the internet, and get a visual guide to where you are going, kind of like a 3D atlas. It even shows the buildings, streets, stop signs, etc... It will also give you driving instructions by voice. Big Booger
  15. Look at Tomshardware, check the latest resellers, check pricewatch, above all else, get what you can afford. Further, get the best of everything. Don't settle for substandard merchandise. This is a huge mistake a lot of folks make. You want to get products from companies that you know and trust and can sue in the event they don't honor their warranty. I learned this many moons ago! Additionally, as for my recommendation for a PENTIUM4 & MOBO combo, I'd go with AsusTek P4S333 Retail Box 2yr warranty SiS® 645 chipset 6 PCI,3 DDR DIMM, ACR, AGP 4X optional audio & LAN. with cpu - Pentium® 4 2.0GHz 2000Mhz 478 Pin w/ Heatsink & Fan. Complete Combo Set, w/3 yr. warranty! $ 472 $12+ 2/21/2002 11:40:35 PM CT PartsPc.com 866-427-9283 562-427-9284-- P.O.'s accepted CA P4S333@2.0 There are others out there, but I believe for the price, that this set is very nice. 19. I wanted to stir up some commotion about this issue. I really truly would have bought an AMD CPU, had it not been for the incredible deal I got. I got a 1.6MHZ P4, and mobo for around 200 bucks US. My local computer shop (in japan) ran a new year's special, and I took advantage of it. Though I did look at an XP 1800 & 1900 at least twice, with an ASUS MOBO, but the price was beyond what I was willing to pay. I do think though that intel will always be around, as well as AMD. Much like Coke and Pepsi. Big Booger
  20. Its like this, why would I buy a Ford Tempo( mini cooper for u brits), when I can afford a BMW? I mean you could probably tweak the ford Tempo (mini Cooper) to run just as fast or even faster than a BMW, but honestly folks, lets get real. Why accept an imitator, get the real deal, with intel. Big Booger Rollin' as I write this LOL
  21. As rev pointed out this issue has been touched on, and I even added my own thoughts on the topic, but to help you further, try this site. http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/ar...s/Q290/4/97.ASP Straight from Micro$hitz! Big Booger
  22. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?V...item=2004423156 There's a link to another 512MB RAM from EBAY. Personally I have bought from this company on ebay and to be honest they are great. I bought a CD burner and a Hard drive from them. Both came in sealed orginial packages, and the company offers a warranty. Check it out! Big Booger
  23. Currently I am going to purchase 512MB 800mhz, namebrand on ebay for 154.95 + shipping. To me that is a steal. I looked on Pricewatch and found some great bargains. You might also try pricegrabber on the toms hardware site. They have some pretty good deals. Crucial does not sell Rambus because they didn't think it would sell. They should have thought again. Big Booger here is a great article on rambus and the other ram. http://www4.tomshardware.com/column/02q1/020215/index.html
