Well, before i dive in to some advanced testing, need some more "simple" info. I have my machine still ready for a format and installations. Is it going to help us all/Bashrat with the development of the driverpacks and helping to bypass the known limit of 4096 characters? etc etc. Pure basic, i'm willing to help out, but i'm not that superb with inf files etc. If i can get enough time, i will help. Uhmm Bâshrat, do you remember the thread were i got mad about saying what fool made your keyboard layout deside what language you get installed for Nvidia!? Well, i get no updated drivers installed at all and definitly no control panel!! Not even Dutch... - All latest packs - Hardware: Nvidia Geforce FX5700LE - Installed driver after setup: 5.6.7.3, date 7-4-2004 !!! It used to work, but i think there must be more people with this and overlooked it. Can anyone confirm this? I installed twice, with same results. EDIT: forgot to mention, previously it saw that i had a IIYAMA visionmaster pro512 monitor. not anymore, just a default one.

@bashrat the CDrom player driver... I think it was since v5.04.4 !? Is there a way to fix that?

Last night i copieed over the 2missing files in my install dir. Made the iso and did another install. Everything went fine then! So i'm affraid it's a typo? Only thing i get when using these driverpacks, is a very annoying message (2x) for the CDrom player driver... You know, that not WHQL signed/tested thingy I have all the ignore's in my winnt.sif for that, and never had any problems with.

uhhh, i dunno for sure, didn't watch the whole installation is there a way to say this for sure besides watching it second by second getting installed? But again i get stuck with a C:\DP\S\CR dir. That dir contains the CTZAPXX.exe file, and a WDM dir (with more dir's in it)

Okay, i need help with another one i can't figure out what went wrong. Made a simple start with the shortcut testing and used a simple 2 item xml. The first item, a shortcut to explorer in my start menu went just fine! But the second one, for Nero, gave me a wierd shortcut The shortcut on my desktop give's as target: "C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\nero.exe" \w" I really don't know how to make the " /w a forward slash!! Say forwards slahs, but i get a backwards slash... And is there a way to make the shortcut icon appear as the "real" Nero Xpress icon? I get a default one now. My guess is the xml coding vs the good old batch files... I had my portion of trouble with it. (but you managed to give the good hints Alanoll and now i love it) A mistake is made easely with a tag, so i will post my new XPlode xml again to give a ready example for new members and stimulate them to use it. (as soon a i have the time to finish converting from v1.12) I think it's easier to see what the installation code looks like in XPlode when used with something like Adobe reader what everybody uses in his batch files!! Most of them figured that out allready. Something like: how to use the same cmd line but then in XPlode style!? I know, it's all in the docs, i read them. but still.... just my 2cents

Thnx Erik, so i can just leave my XPCD structure the way it is and then just apply it AGAIN but then with the new packs. Nice! saves a lot of work I noticed after my post that there were troubles.. ill just wait then!

hmm, looks like i can help out now! @Bâshrat: I am in the position to test it now, so if you can/will piont out where put what code.. Then i will start testing right now. (i suppose i can apply the driverpack incremental, like a 2nd time on my xpcd dir but now with the new base?)

Did it and found it! It leaves: C:\DP\S\CR (and some creative files/folders inside) Was unable to see the error, because it happend unattended last night The inside of dir differs from the last install ! So thats strange. I can do some testing perhaps later this evening if needed. Edit: Hey, it looks like Erik hacked my machine!! This means that i don't need to add a screenshot, its a perfect match!

I noticed that 2 out of 4 test installs my system with the audigy2 has something like bad copying of the files.. Shall try to see what i can do to let you know exactly what file/files the error gives, because it leaves a DP folder at my %systemdrive% after install. Must install it again, so it won't be a problem!!

I just wanted to say this looks very nice as a "starter" long time not seen. You will get there, perfect example of someone who starts the way it should be. Also good luck from me

I think you must take a look at the update tracker >> Updatetracker Its, BASE v5.04.4 not the MassStorage pack... The BASE pack solved lots of problems.

My BSOD is solved from BASE pack v 5.04.4. well...thats it

Okay then, against my own vote, i will set my keyboard settings so that it will say english by default. (only for myself, not for dutch installs ) I don't feel the need to put any kind of pressure at bashrat to make even more work out of this. No offense, but he made lots of them allready to choose from!! In my opinion he does an excelent job, and has still work enough left in getting the last driverpacks "perfect". (and keep it up to date; don't forget that one) As far as i see it, i stay with it the way it is now and put in a dvd to install.
