@cluberti BUT, i am curious man, wy is it that oem builders and stuff are not allowed to share the bits and bytes? as mentioned above, it is freeware... so what is the idea about that rule? can you shed some light on that for me? just curious man Damian666

well, i do know that there are two files like that. look for ntkrnlmp.exe, or ntkrnlpa.exe. those have the same bmp's as the ntoskrnl so maybe thats it man... let me know ok? Damian666

kontini, yeah, i saw that too man, so i looked at the shell32 and msgina files to see what bmp was set wrong... now comes the weird part, nothing is wrong with it... so maybe you can find something? because i cant man a very strange bug indeed, maybe its because of that update thingy that uses another file i am looking , but till now nothing man Damian666

it takes 2 reboots to be visible man thats because the bootscreen is in use on reboot. try it... juts reboot again. Damian666

well, i am glad it worked for you man and aloho, well, thats just a spelling mistake man i know its aloha... the file you are searching for is called logonui.exe man, its in the system32 folder. See ya man. Damian666

@ aloho, then i think its f***ed man... weird, but nothing can be done about it now. So the only option you have now, is manually restoration. sorry for that man, your one of the few... First download this: replacer then take three files from your XP cd. ntoskrnl.ex_, sysdm.cp_ and msgina.dl_. these files are cabbed, but can be extracted with winrar or 7zip. Then you open up the replacer program you downloaded, and browse to the first file, ntoskrnl.exe in the system32 directory. select it and then browse to the unpacked ntoskrnl.exe. Press replace, and your done. Do this for all three files, which are all found in the system32 directory, just replace them with the newly extracted ones. Then reboot, and your done. let me know if this helps man, and again, sorry for the trouble. Damian666 @srgsng25 with all respect man, but i really dont get it, why do you ask me?

no man, i am sorry, but you are wrong... see this... the trick is to let the button reach only to the top of the bar. that way it looks whole, but doesnt need any other exe's to run. and did you ever saw the vistapack? try it out man... Damian666

well, with all due respect man, but the startbuton is cutt off, there are a lot of other themes that have taken that out. so i would replace it if i was you the rest is cool btw... Damian666
