just use webmin bah and in the mean time you can learn to use ssh over console he need easy way to do things i can't find one great article on freshmeat about why linux or whatever OS's experienced users try to explain to first time users things on such a hard way like typing complicated commands in console

i think mandrake have webmin installed by default not sure type in console: rpm -q webmin adn if its there type on cosole as root (su followed by root pass): /etc/rc.d/init.d/webmin start

do you have another partition with programs or stuff? every partition has recycle bin if you reformat your C: drive without cleaning up recycle bin, it stays in recycle on another partition and comes up again when you install OS on C: Try Tools - Folder Options - View Show hidden files and folders Show protected..etc and you will see

If you have other thing attached to power (floppy, cd etc) cut it of and try again. Try only with MB and HD. I didn't saw last sentence, sory. I had same problem with AMD, Asus K7V ATX MB and Athlon CPU. I just exchanged cord power on floppy and CD and it worked.
